I think disc golf is sooooo underrated just because the start up cost to learn to play is lower than any other sport I ever seen. Love to see it grow more and more

That through the tree shot filming Ricky set up his shot on hole 8 really shows the artistry involved when it comes to Jomez coverage. Increases the production value so much! Some of the wide shots they do with the crowds of spectators behind the players reminds me of a Kurosawa film.
"As time goes on, this is going to become the most important tournament" - is such an excellent self-fulfilling prophecy. The players have the power to determine which events matter more than others, and that can evolve as time goes on. I also think the tournament aspect could bring in a lot of casual fans who appreciate the drama of that format. Great future for this sport!

To the camera operators; If you can see the basket, please pan out to get the basket in view after you track and see the shot and the disc come to rest. Without this, we don't have context about how good or bad the shot was after you did such a good job in tracking the shot and the disc. Thank you.

This tournament format is slightly confusing. Is there a graphic/breakdown of what happens. Is there only 4 remaining now? Or was there pre qualification for this final and 4 from the semis were added? Making 8 remaining?
Top 4 moved forward every round…but certain players had byes for certain rounds up to the semi finals. So, this round only had these 4 players. Semi finals had 8.

Just keep up the grind. I’m 17 and started playing a few months ago and have already seen leaps and bounds in my gameplay. I started at staying to what I was comfortable and getting better at that. (RHBH or which part of ur game ur better at) Then work on what needs worked on the most but don’t forget about everything else or they’ll fall behind
Even if it’s getting your own basket to get extra putt reps to practice or going to a course and putting for a while before your actual round or after your round because you’ll have to putt when you’re tired too so might as well practice some being fatigued

Other than his handling of the Lyme Disease "holistic medicine" controversy I have literally never heard a single negative thing about him. I've also heard multiple firsthand accounts claiming exactly the opposite. Not sure who's giving you that information but I think we set an unrealistic expectation for how iconic athletes are supposed to act
Am I the only one who doesn't really care what the purse size is? It seems like all disc golf talks about anymore is money. "Grow the sport" has become "grow our wallets". I'm not against them making money at all. I'm just against them talking about it so much.

Yeah that looked kinda weird. I bet they're totally cool with each other off the course, especially both having the same sponsor, but the middle of a $35K round is not the time/place for that kind of horseplay.
It's nothing that affects their friendship, but it's an interesting moment when Buhr is clearly being playful and Robinson is noticeably upset. True though, I can't speculate how Robinson takes shenanigans on the lead card of the biggest event of the year.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Ricky is the best... I would say he and Paul are tied for sure but giving paul the edge though... Yes Rick has 4 ES wins this year where Paul has 1. But Paul put on a clinic alongside eagle this year at the European open where they both shot record tournament scores but paul lost by 1 stroke at 41 under which i bet will not be touched in quite some time for a 2nd place finish at that course and Ricky got 12th at a measly -16 a cool 25 strokes worse than Paul... Paul won worlds where Rick placed 11th. Paul got 4th at usdgc where Rick got 7th. And Rick won this where Paul got 4th... what I want to see, is a tournament where it is just these 2 and they go head to head and battle it out over like 2 or 3 days... let's get this discussion of who's the best done with
