Prime Minister Narendra Modi is widely expected to win a third term.
Hoping to stop him, dozens of opposition parties have joined forces in a coalition to rival his Bharatiya Janata Party.
Modi has been in power since 2014 and is credited with revitalising the economy.
But opponents accuse him of stifling dissent and crushing political rivals.

We conduct elections of 100 crore people (voters) with great transparency in peaceful manner.. we have 1000’s of media channels ..we have 1000’s of news channels and news papers…All r independent.. We have a system where welfare of all indians irrespective of caste, creed and religion will be taken care with out any bias..
