I've been having so much fun with Classic. For real, all the little quirks of the game that aren't present in Retail really make a difference in my investment. I main a Hunter, so actually having to buy ammo and getting to engage in both ranged and melee combat effectively really change the playstyle compared to my Beastmastery Hunter in BfA. Also actually having to feed my pet so he doesn't fuck right off. That's neat.
Classic is just a lot more immersive than Retail which has become too streamlined. I like needing to gather mats for some of my abilities, going across zones for one quest, having to monitor your gold as well as taking time off from questing to farm. The Classic AH is much more active too with just about anything you put in it selling.
DoctorSax PvP in classic though. You don’t get rewarded for killing the best players. You get rewarded by how many players you kill. Which in end makes it a competition about who is willing to grind more.
The only thing capable of killing wow is and has always been blizzard. They have tried many times throughout the years and got close on a few occasions, but have realized there is still money to be made on the ip.
Classic Wow revived my love for the game more than ever. I hadn’t even realized the years in my eyes when the character creation screen opened up for me, and I sat there just looking through it all for a while before even finalizing my first character It’s emotional and I love it!
It's been such a long time since I have had fun in a video game. Honestly thought that I had outgrown them. But ever since WoW classic has come out I consider quitting my job at least 3 times a day. It doesn't help that one of my buddies is retired so he just gets to hang out and play WoW all day.
The thing is, recreating old content is great and all but they really need to analyse why people are feeling nostalgic about those specific periods. Don’t just recreate what you’ve already done, create new things that follow the meaningful rewards for meaningful work as bel says
I don't think they know how. Classic was made by different people, today's blizzard just copied that game. They don't understand what "fun" is they just base it on some stupid excel tables.
@@TheTorridestCheese And I think this is largely because most things were just genuinely better in the past compared to the new/modern stuff being churned out almost solely for profit. You (or at least some people) can feel when something is of actual quality because it had care and passion put into it. Though there are of course exceptions today, I think in terms of entertainment a lot of the modern stuff is unmemorable and creatively bankrupt.

AkiRa22084 Oct 27th 2034 or? I mean, you guys keep changing your dates around. First it would be dead in a week, then a month, now two months.. By the time we get there it'll probably be next year.
@@pjrotsaert2832 Nah, it was always two months, since physical gametime is 2 months. Most of my normie friends bought the gametime physicaly. How dare you talk to me like that! I play Classic more than you! Dishonest wrathbaby...
@Tyler TR Yes. Seeing that TES VI is releasing in a few years I really hope that the tide has turned by then. If more than a decade of expectations just turn out to be a pipe dream...
Nostalgia is the reason. People get old and they want to go back. They think it'll be great! Then the raids get beat by characters below 60 without the "necessary" gear and less than a full squad. Great game, released classic at a patch that is optimized for Burning Crusade.
I can't play classic wow because I don't want to lose another year or two of my life to a video game. But I'll never forget the experiences I had while playing vanilla through to TBC. I don't think any gaming experience will ever eclipse it.
Eclipse? No but come close? Fuck yeah! Join us, you don't have to go at it hardcore but go into bed a couple of times and find out what you have been missing !
Stop crying about video games. Quoting Jace Hall's music video "if it makes me happy, why should I quit this? The world brings me down, WoW makes me uplifted!" So stfu. WoW doesn't need you. Have fun.
@@fistofram5526 why you have to be so an asshole? Looks like you are the one who are crying only because people don't want or can't play the game you are playing lol
clickbait title: “Classic is changing the future of World of Warcraft!!!!!!!” video: “hey so, uhhhh, blizzard added classic alterac valley to BFA......” LUL OK, U GOT ME
Not click bait, if you watch the whole thing he gives loads of info about classic, and things that have been done in main game after its release with some of its features, the title says it all. He thinks it is amazing how classic features and a game mode made it into bfa, and how this is a precursor for more content of the classic style in modern wow. It helps to actually watch the whole video so you get all the info before ya comment, and if you did well, I am not gonna directly insult you but...
@@Audio041194 so i watched the whole video and literally 90% of what you said nixxiom doesn't even mention .. you just made shit up in your head or u don't understand what was said in the video...besides alterac there is literally nothing that is somehow inspired by Vanilla ... what Nixxiom mentioned aka Timewalking even though he said it himself he lists it as something Vanilla inspired while its in the game way before Claissic was even a thing at Blizzard HQ and everything else he talks about has nothing to do with Vanilla features added or coming to BfA
uknownalias There was more than one version of AV in Classic and Blizz has said they plan only to use the version of anything which comes from patch 1.12, which means that AV will just be Zerg.
I love classic wow but I still play retail a lot because i really like the current gameplay aswell. Classic is so immersive tho, like I play not to reach level cap, but to play.
Hear me out here, what if just maybe, they start again from classic and release new expansions but don't drop a cataclysm and just keep things as classic as possible through the levels
Sounds good but I think it would be a mess, it would lead to two totally different game development and I don't think Blizzard wants that, Classic will remain classic, maybe they will add tbc and wrath but that's all, what they really have to do imo is to implement some vanilla like features in retail and not doing a "Wow reloaded"
I mean...at some point you're going to have so many expansions that it won't be, "classic" any more. You can either put the game in a box and never touch it and let it evolve. Can't have both.
Gaming House EPIC Idk man, I really don’t enjoy Classic’s game design. The combat is really slow and clunky and the dungeon/raid encounters are super boring and lack difficulty. I like that they made it for those who enjoy the game, but it just plays too poorly for me. If combat were balanced and rotations actually existed instead of just spamming the same few buttons over and over, at least the game world would be more interesting to me. If I wanted bad combat, I would just level a new character in Retail from 1 since they have the same amount of useful abilities.
As someone with 6000+ hours on osrs, I really dont want that. osrs is a far cry from what it was at release. Mass quality of life updates, easier methods, gear that is insanely strong compared to gear from real 2007 runescape.
@Cthulhu I disagree, people played private servers for over a decade after BC release. When you add tons of new content, its just a different game after a certain point.
@Cthulhu Once again I simply disagree. Osrs players all swore that without a new skill, the game would die. The new skill failed, the games still growing. Adding new raids/content instantly makes the majority of the #NoChanges crew leave. Then people who figure out they actually dont want Mythic+ Naxx or w.e leave. Sure, some new players join because cool new raids.. Only issue is they are level 1 and have 100s of hours of content before they can play the new content. No one starts osrs saying "wow all I have to do is grind for 500 hours then I can raid with friends!" and I doubt they would do that with WoW.
@Cthulhu Smash melee and other classics come to mind, and they dont have half the content WoW classic does. People thought classic would be small and nostalgia driven, but at this point I think thats obviously not the case. I don't see why the game would die if it stays true to the classic experience. Obviously people will quit because its not everyones cup of tea, but thats kind of the point. When you make a game designed for literally everyone, you get BfA.
Ideeas for the next expansions: 1. Relocate the whole action to azeroth. 2. make the leveling process hard . 3. Change the game back to multiplayer. 4. Remove flying mounts. 5. Give back classes identity and complexity. 6. Remove demon hunters and dks. 7. Make the gold matter and be hard to obtain. 8. Remove any automatic looking for group. 9. Remove transmog. 10. Make the epics feel epics. 11. Make the world pvp be a thing. 12. Increase the mount cast time. 13. Make professions matter. 14. etc
I've only played a lil bit of classic but I can now see why everyone misses it! Joining parties to kill elite mobs for quest or to just help out someone feels great! and while I'm used to the concept of buying ammo, I still hate the melee design for hunters lol
I had this idea that they could bring back class quests but make them optional with rewards that encourage players to do them. If you do the class quests it could give certain abilities unique spell effects like glyphs, for example like if you are a Frost Mage you could do an optional class quest in Pandaria to make your water elemental a Pandarian one, think like mini versions of the Warlock's green fire class quest. I think Class quests for unique spell effects could be really immersive and fun and since they aren't mandatory they don't punish players who don't do them. Alternatively you could use class quests to allow players to get abilities _earlier_ than those that don't do them, like a reward for showing initiative.
I HOPE you're right, but I'm not holding my breath. One thing I've learned about classic is that a lot of that sense of community was a result of an accident rather than being deliberate. It's a happy mistake that's for sure, but because it wasn't intentional I think they'll be riding on the nostalgia train for a while by referencing and directly importing these ideas rather than utilizing the philosophy going forward. I could wrong and they truly learn, it's still speculation. The RPG elements are pretty nice in Classic. I remember a secret vendor right behind a quest boss and 1-2 extra trash. Most people wouldn't bother going further, but those curious were rewarded. That's something that was clearly made with some love right there.
The other week I was in Moonbrook in Westfall. I explored one of the buildings and found an NPC who sold two rage potion recipes. I was low on funds and bag space, but I bought them both for 2s apiece. I learned the first one (my lock picks flowers and brews koolaid). Then I immediately went outside to the 50 players running around and yelled "WTS [item link]. 3 silver." to sell the other one. I felt like a real god damn merchant, buying up the exclusive resources and selling them back at a mark up for a net profit. I sold it immediately and felt sad because I could have tried to sell it for more, but I didn't want to be there forever spamming chat and have people watch me constantly lowering the price alongside my impatience.
It's almost as if humanity has craved community for thousands of years and once Blizzard automated most of it away people stopped valuing/discern "community" - to put it in a nutshell - and now wonder why the game is boring or has little to no long term satisfaction
It’s not just bringing back players from nostalgia, it’s also bringing in new players that want to experience wow like it was back in the day and to finally have an opportunity to play wow without feeling years behind everyone else. That’s the reason I’m playing wow for the first time ever and I’m in love. I hope they keep extending classic with exp the way they did many years ago, so I can understand the story and game the experience so many already have.
golden age for mmorpgs? :D how would or could it even do that? what are all u people smoking jesus....this hype will die down just like after any other wow expansion only this time it will take a lil longer
I’m one of those that came back for Classic. I’ve been checking out BfA as well, but Classic is what drew me back after 7 years away from the game. Two things I missed from classic are; 1) Grouping. Streamlining PvE to make it easy enough to solo didn’t help, but Dungeon Finder really killed this aspect in retail imo. In classic I find myself grouping just to complete quests in the same area, or when hunting the same mobs. Plus, everyone is helping everyone else out. I was handing out free linen bags to anyone who had mats, and had someone trade me health potions in return. It was awesome. 2) crafted gear matters again! I loved making my own gear in WotLK. I remember handcrafting all my pre raid gear in wrath to go hunting for my tank and heal sets as a pally for my guild. Retail instead hands out gear like candy, again tied to dungeon finder. Classic WoW gives us a legit reason to farm up mats and make gear. Again, awesome. Just my two cents on the matter.
I'm going to partially disagree with you for a moment. Blizzard shouldn't revert; they should revamp. For example, let's take the LFG system that so many of us have come to hate. Why do we hate it? Do we hate it because it isn't Vanilla? Do we hate it because it adds convenience to the game? I would argue no. I personally hate the system because it allows random players that you will never see again to ruin your idea of what running a dungeon should feel like. Well, how do we fix this? That is a difficult question, but STILL MANAGEABLE!!! Rather than abandoning the system like Blizzard has done, let's think of ways we can change it so that we can enjoy it, rather than hate it. 1.) Lets remove cross-server capabilities. I think this system is what the Looking For Group system that was already implemented into the game (via the social tab) anyways. Removing cross-server capabilities will--once again--make it important for players to get along, because they won't be these trolls blanketed by the cover of anonymity. 2.) Make it easier to remove an unreasonable player. Instead of adding this ridiculous minimum wait time for kicking players and requirement for all four players to vote yes, let's change it so that if somebody starts typing racial slurs in all caps at the beginning of the dungeon (this has happened before to me) we can simply remove the player and continue with the dungeon. 3.) Make LFG dungeons flexible. If two players drop at the beginning of the dungeon, it's always an "for shit's sake" moment, making the player have to drop group, wait the full 15 minutes (which should also be revamped), and search again for another group. I want WoW to be a great game again, but I don't think Blizzard should revert all systems in the game back to Vanilla. Then the game would feel like... well... Vanilla, and we already have that game available to us. I want wow and all its systems to evolve into something worth using. I've suggested changes for LFG, but there are so many more systems (player housing in the form of class halls/garrisons, the looting system, LFR, etc.) they can revamp, change to make better. They just need to work on it a little bit. Thank you for caring about this game as much as I do. I hope some day that I'll be able to log in and enjoy my time spent in retail's Azeroth. I haven't been able to do that since patch 4.2. I hope we'll return to that "everything is perfect" moment, where no matter what content we're doing, we're enjoying ourselves while doing it. “I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something.” - Samwise Gamgee
After playing classic only the last few weeks im doing the quests for the bee mount in bfa right now and i must say that im so annoyed with bfa already. Stupid timegates like with the one for bumbles makes me so angry. As long as retail wow doesnt change its formula drastically, so it doesnt feel like an empty shell anymore, i wont play it any longer.
These were some of the happiest memories from my childhood/lower school. My best buddy growing up got me into the game, I'd play at his house whenever I could until I was able to get it myself. Every day after school we'd rush home, hop on, and go on adventures together. I remember how we'd flip out when we found our first pair of shoulders or our first long cape, and how jealous we were of people with mounts. And don't even get me started on how we flipped when the trailer for burning crusade dropped. WoW today just seems too easy, they spoon feed you so many things instead of finding things out yourself. It was a simpler time
Great bruh! Another insightfull review from your kitchen. And also accurate one if you ask me. I am also that big, emmo fan of wow, like yourself, remembering those good old days since I've took my part in them also. Appreciate your work bruh, keep up the good job. For Azeroth!
I feel like you should probably have mentioned that these are being done for the 15th Anniversary event in November, similar to Onyxia's Lair for the 5th Anniversary and Molten Core + Southshore Battleground for the 10th Anniversary. This isn't just random nostalgia coming out of nowhere.
I enjoy the small increments gear gives you in classic compared to retail. I admit i have fallen behind in retail, I got to 120 and got heroic gear and stopped playing, i logged on last night and seen people same class/level with more than triple my 100k hp. I aint got no hope against that sheer gap in gear. its crazy. with vanilla I with def be out geared with someone in full epics, but hes not going to be triple my hp... imagine a geard hunter running around with over 10k hp in vanilla haha....
It's not just that we're getting classic bosses/bgs/content, it's that some mechanics in BfA were clearly influenced by Classic while the devs were working on both. For example, for the first time in years, armor type actually affect the amount of armor you gain from your gear. Check it out if you don't believe me. There's several other subtle mechanical changes in BfA that feel like they were inspired by Classic mechanics.
@@Noble001 shit class design? U sure u played vanilla? Every single class was unique man. Every single class brought something usefull in soms situations. Go back to retail and have fun with the hyperbalance!
Marwan Msaadi Dude, if you aren’t a warrior, rogue, or mage, you’re shit in pve for dps. There’s no point to bring any other class except a paladin/shaman to buff the actual dps classes. At least in Retail, every spec is viable in a raid scenario. If you look at the raid comp from Method’s WF Azshara kill, you would know that this was one of the most diverse raid metas in a very long time because the balance was so well done.
It's so crazy how Cataclysm is part of the old school expansions. I have always viewed that expansion as one of the newer ones because I played it during my 3rd wow period (1st and 2nd being vanilla and bc). But its been almost 9 years since the release of the expansion after all. Time goes by so incredibly fast.
To be honest I'm just playing both. Classic is actually pretty Damn fun I like taking my time because stuff actually matters. But retail is so goddamn much better. I like being a level 120 badass going and pulling like 20 mobs.
@@candlestyx8517 well after buying and selling Diablo like 6 times I got bored lol. I'm not saying it should be instant. But like 3 hours to hit level 10, then another 20 hours to hit level 20 is boring. And when you do manage to hit 60 sure you feel good. But some people have a life, they can't spend like 3000 hours hitting max level. With Bfa you can nail it out in a couple days and you feel super badass. They both have their problems but that's why playing both is fun.
@@xeria5647 I work 10 hours a day and I hit level 40 in classic after only 4.5 days played, or after a month in real time, thats not even half of the exp grind to 60. Youre just lazy and have no patience, you want that reward, without realizing that the gratification comes from the hard work you put into something and not the actual end result. It isnt about the destination, its about the journey.
cool vid, made me hopeful about the future wow :) had one of the best AV's for ages a few months ago, Alliance and Horde fighting to death in the middle, little saboteur squads trying to cap some bases only to be repelled by a counterattack ... and then we got Ivus ... ploughing through Orc and Goblin alike, tearing apart hardened steel of warriors and ripping the holy shields of priests. Man that was awesome... even got the Stormpike perfection achievement on the alt I was playing again. Well spent 3 and a half hours. Made me think of the old days of the battle between Frostwolves and Stormpikes. Maybe I'll come back to retail WoW to look in the old AV since it's not released in Classic.^^
The thing that gave classic a boost over modern is the achievement factor. The sense that the world is very large, things take time, and you have to be diligent in your efforts. For example. Lets look at BFA. I activated a week ago. yes, a week ago. In that time period, with moderate gameplay, I've reached 120, and ilevel 400 on my main spec. I've also done heroic +4s already. That's in one week. I remember in classic, it took *months* to really level, and then took a good year to feel like you were moderately powerful. It took a lot of effort, and that was fun. I also was a heavy gamer at that time, unlike now. In BFA, it feels like things are just "given" to a person. It doesn't take long to level up. While I appreciate Blizzard really trying to cater more toward the people who can't play hardly at all, this speed of leveling and acquisition is pretty absurd in my view. Another thing I really would like them to do is actually "unify" the world. I mean, in a solid expansion, reintroduce the old worlds again. Maybe over 2 expansions totally reintroduce them. Make them seem important. Bring back old mechanics and tie them into current gameplay. Make the entire game more meaningful. BFA is starting to do that some through the neck quest lines, but a lot more can be done. In a lot of ways, I'm thinking flying should be removed, as should LFR/LFG/etc. I'm finding I'm much more enjoying doing mythics over anything else because everyone who attends feels important to be there. There's actual conversation, and actual community in play. That's the thing I miss about classic so much.
Well I believe that the leveling content needs an overhaul. I mean Cata is like 9 yrs (already) ago. Having mobs that can hurt you in the leveling process would be nice. And wpuldn't it be cool if we had a talent system that combines the current and the classic one?
@@rodrigobogado8756 but with the Artifact system choice doesn't matter because you get all the stuff. With the old system, choice did matter because you only had a limited amount of points to spend.
I think that classic stuff in BofA isn't intended to create new subs but to get people playing Classic over to the more heavily monetized BofA. Blizzard themselves have said subs are only a small portion of WoW's profits now. That means the BofA monetization is very important for them to move players into.
As happy as I am for classic, I'll never enjoy leveling again after my very first toon in vanilla. For me, the game doesn't start till 60. But the world pvp has been a delight! Also, the community has been wonderful, as has starting an actual guild with people I've known from all those years back.
That's nice, personally I enjoyed leveling especially when I got to the pvp zones :D Got ganked alot and ganked alot Got corpsed ganked a few times, asked for help and most of the time I got help I play Horde and got 1 time help from a high level troll rogue50 and a human Pally 60 or when I fought through wetlands all the way to badlands vs same lvl and lower I just love the sense of danger but what I disliked were the quests which could have been better and not so linear on where to go all the time
Two huge things that Blizzard could do to improve Retail: adjust the mechanics and progression to be more similar to Vanilla. Have an expansion wherein characters can do quests and such to restore the world, maybe not completely to a completely pre-cataclysm state, but to a healed world state, where changes have been cleaned up and adjusted to.
Honestly, isn't every expansion the "worst WoW expansion ever!!!"? I remember that being said of Cata, then MoP, then WoD, and Legion, now BfA. No one is satisfied, ever. Me, however? Im perfectly happy with how current game play is. *shrug*
MoP was only hated on because of the Pandas and was generally very liked. I don't know too many people who hated Legion, I thought it was great. There is always a small crowd that dislikes the game. With that said... I do feel a larger part of the community agrees that WoD and BfA are garbage, and Cata because, while it did bring in a few much needed changes, it was pretty much the turning point from old Blizz to new Blizz.
According to the vocal minority, yes every expansion is the worst. I've been playing since 2005 and the only expansion I really didn't like was was Warlords. Classic is a fun nostalgia trip though.
9:50 "..Taught the gaming industry a lot of very valuable lessons about challenge, a sense of community and a sense of achievement when playing an MMORPG." So.. Basically what Final Fantasy XIV has had for years now?
But wait, it has been confirmed that we will get the 1.12 version of AV for Classic WoW. That is already not the old AV, it's closer to the modern AV where you just rush to the boss.
Gotta be honest Classic feels more rewarding than Live WoW. But I've honestly burnt out xD. 3 weeks of grinding 3-4 hours a day and I've had enough for now. Though there are some aspects I really wish would be in live WoW. The limited good gear, slower levelling (not as slow as classic but maybe 25% faster), harder hitting mobs so if you pull more than 1 you actually die like in classic and professions being really important, can't tell you how nice it was to get 2 extra bag slots from tailoring.
As a former (ancient) hardcore WoW player that died in Cata, I actually went as far as search for my old characters out of curiosity. With respect to effects of nostalgic stimuli, too bad for Blizzard that I didn't find them. Not to mention, I don't really have time for hardcore gaming at this particular point in my life
I personally fully expect blizzard to "surprise" us with at some point a b.c. and a wrath server.. It was just too good for them to discredit how classic is rolling the dollars.
i tried classic for a few days, it reminded me why i quit it the first time until wotlk. i prefer retail qol changes. Hopefully blizzard doesnt get any ideas and change retail to be less solo and time friendly.
Dude Nixxion! You seem really happy and full of hope and it really sowed through in this video. I really hope you are right, and Blizz starts making some changes for the better :D
I just started playing wow beacause of classic, I play with some friends that are fans of the game since the dawn age. But when I play alone I go for the expanded wow since it's more fast paced and easier to go through alone. To me they are just wildly different games with completely different merits.
Until they fix the class design, it's all pointless. Although, I'm more hopeful than I have been in the past about the direction they're going. Time will have to tell. ...also, love the memes in this video. XD
Thank you for this video, Nixx. It gives me hope that Blizz is beginning to see that they're turning around for the better and actually listening to the community at large.
@Salterino Kripperino WotLK was undoubtedly WoW at its peak. Although it changes the core Classic experience, it offers more great content, more Endgame stuff, and PvP is still strong and really fun. Catacalysm is what really started making things going down hill
What would WoW 2 be for you? I would like the part of every class having a pro and con compared to the other classes and heavy focus on that so you need friends of a different kind throughout the game :)
Y'know what would be a cool idea to bring an RP aspect back into WoW a little more? Dialogue options for how you react to stuff which could change how much reputation you gain with certain factions, that'd be neat but not sure how that'd work in practice.
For the most part, I am not exited. Look I am glad that classic has given the game new life but my problem with WoW for the most part has been less about gameplay and more about the lore, and in all honesty Warcraft's lore was at its highest at the end of warcraft 3. Ever since they transitioned to WOW a lot of characters have lost their identity for the most part or have been shoved aside for other characters all together. A prime example would be Malfurion and Tyrande who were both badasses at the battle of mount Hyjal and even at the mention of a new enemy they would go to face it personally. Now days they are faction leaders who are just horrendously inactive as a whole. Or Thrall who was probably the greatest warcheif the Horde had ever seen and instead Blizzard was like green jesus arc because why not. While Sylvanus is still very close to how she was, a lot of where her current character development is taking her to one single extreme. The sylvanus before hand was yes a messanger of death and an evil person, but she was for the most part ruthless and reasonable now blizzard just wants to force her to one extreme for the sake of plot but w.e And don't get me started how they killed off Cairne, and the whole Jaina mad as fuck arc. Or possibly the fact that a lot of characters have wasted potential as a whole. I mean they really have done warcraft a dirty job in this department so far and I just really want those story writers to come up with a conclusion that feels like the same amount of hype as warcraft 3 has because if it can't then I would like to pretend Wow did not happen in the first place.
Goes to show what happens when the player characters are the ones doing all the job and the "Leaders" get all the credit, whilst in W3 the leader's had to be front and center in they're commands and decisions.
I'm lvl 20 after 3 weeks on classic. And I'm taking this slow and steady but will be sticking around to enjoy the process.....All over again. And no....Haven't touched retail even once since I resubbed.
I’ve sinked so many hours into classic in the past month. I love it and hope Classic + keeps classic but adds more content. Dungeons, raids, higher level cap, more items.
Lol, Classic just started, give it a year and we shell see how it goes from there. It is a success but it will have a drop. I know bunch of people that tried it for the first time or are veterans. Only few of us still keep playing it. All of them quit like at 20-30. I am not bashing Classic, it is what it is and we know it. But many went on a hype train and jumped off quick. That is fine. Happens with every new expansion on retail to. Every time new one comes bunch of people are there and half of them quit after 60 days or so.
I said this before the release and just recently on the forums whenever a debate of Classic+ and so on pops up. Blizz is taking notes, if by the the last or second last phase they still got tons of people playing Classic, they will probably start to make more drastic changes to Retail, that's where the change will happen, it might even be in the new expac. They aren't gonna dedicate a whole new art and story team and whatever to create extra stuff just for the Classic servers. It's the same sub, but they WANT you on Retail. I think people should start saying what they want in Retail from Classic instead of hoping for some Classic+ because that is highly unlikely. Not to mention, while I enjoy Classic myself, there is a good chance eventually it will be what people play between patches of Retail, which might also be the intention.
WoW post BFA musts -Complete class overhaul/retooling of EVERY spec -Rid the game of LFR and Dungeon Finder. Classic is proof that the old ways work. -Make epics scarce/massively reduce epic reward bloat. Obtaining upgrades and whatnot should feel like an achievement, plain and simple. -Use retail WoWs quest variety with Classics pacing and heavy lore driven foundation for leveling. Also, with each level you gain in Classic, you notice your character getting stronger. That’s a big plus. I could keep going on but these are all necessary for me personally. Otherwise, I’m more than satisfied with playing Classic.
@@ilikefishandpotatoes exactly. Mission table...world quests. Its not an adventure game like classic. Its a log in...do mission table..log out. Really crap

BUT nyeeeeeh that's not GAMEPLAY!!!
Classic is just a lot more immersive than Retail which has become too streamlined. I like needing to gather mats for some of my abilities, going across zones for one quest, having to monitor your gold as well as taking time off from questing to farm. The Classic AH is much more active too with just about anything you put in it selling.
@@captainobvious9233 truth about the AH :D I love it!
It also helps balance PVP.
DoctorSax PvP in classic though. You don’t get rewarded for killing the best players. You get rewarded by how many players you kill. Which in end makes it a competition about who is willing to grind more.

The thing is, recreating old content is great and all but they really need to analyse why people are feeling nostalgic about those specific periods. Don’t just recreate what you’ve already done, create new things that follow the meaningful rewards for meaningful work as bel says
I am hopeful that they will do this with the next expansion, we are a bit too late into this expansions life cycle to make it happen
I don't think they know how. Classic was made by different people, today's blizzard just copied that game. They don't understand what "fun" is they just base it on some stupid excel tables.

Nostalgia in general is a hot product right now. Look at all the Disney remakes coming out.
@@TheTorridestCheese And I think this is largely because most things were just genuinely better in the past compared to the new/modern stuff being churned out almost solely for profit.
And I wish this would evolve to something like Oldschool Runescape
Blizz would have to decide whether they want loads of money, or to not admit they screwed the pooch. the decision might cause their heads to explode.
14. etc
Classic was the next expansion.
Your channel has changed so much. Are we going to see any more animations?
I've only played a lil bit of classic but I can now see why everyone misses it! Joining parties to kill elite mobs for quest or to just help out someone feels great!
and while I'm used to the concept of buying ammo, I still hate the melee design for hunters lol
Nothing mentioned about retail changes sounds capable of salvaging it. Classic all the way
I had this idea that they could bring back class quests but make them optional with rewards that encourage players to do them.
OOhh I like this. Now I want a pandaren mage or shaman with appropriate elementals
I hope classic wow triggers a new golden age for wow and mmo’s in general
wouldn't that be sick =)?
golden age for mmorpgs? :D how would or could it even do that? what are all u people smoking jesus....this hype will die down just like after any other wow expansion only this time it will take a lil longer
Nope, classic is already lossing players fast, people like fast gameplay with content and not slow and easy gameplay without content.
"SIRE, CLASSIC WOW HAS HAPPENED TO US. +100 IN PROFITS. +100 IN MORALE"
"IT'S SPRINGTIME FOR NIXXIOM AND BLIZZARDY!" 😜😜😜😜😜😜
I’m one of those that came back for Classic. I’ve been checking out BfA as well, but Classic is what drew me back after 7 years away from the game. Two things I missed from classic are;
1) Grouping.
Yo Nixxiom, that ding in the start of the vid made me deaf

@@Rangerz4lifx Oh definitely hahaha

So what you are saying is that BFA needs better catchup mechanisms?
classic in modern game is actually what i'm ready to pay for
It's not just that we're getting classic bosses/bgs/content, it's that some mechanics in BfA were clearly influenced by Classic while the devs were working on both. For example, for the first time in years, armor type actually affect the amount of armor you gain from your gear. Check it out if you don't believe me. There's several other subtle mechanical changes in BfA that feel like they were inspired by Classic mechanics.

Going to tell every girl that now. "Dingle Flash! Boom!"
RIP ears on that "loading" transition
Love your content. I started when BC came out, you help me remember all those amazing feelings. Thanks man.
Well I believe that the leveling content needs an overhaul. I mean Cata is like 9 yrs (already) ago.
Having mobs that can hurt you in the leveling process would be nice.
And wpuldn't it be cool if we had a talent system that combines the current and the classic one?
I feel old now..
That was basically the Legión system (i miss artifact weapons)
That's nice, personally I enjoyed leveling especially when I got to the pvp zones :D Got ganked alot and ganked alot
Got corpsed ganked a few times, asked for help and most of the time I got help
I play Horde and got 1 time help from a high level troll rogue50 and a human Pally 60
or when I fought through wetlands all the way to badlands vs same lvl and lower
I just love the sense of danger
but what I disliked were the quests which could have been better and not so linear on where to go all the time
Two huge things that Blizzard could do to improve Retail: adjust the mechanics and progression to be more similar to Vanilla.
*shrug*
And u have a furry profile pic PepepLaugh
Man, i was thinking just same. I think this is not the end of MMORPG. All that years can be just the beginning for this game genre.
i'll be happy with a lvl squish and reintroduction of talent trees
So crazy how much I love classic wow. Usually I'll play the new patch of bfa then quit after I'm done. But classic wow has me hooked.
Can't wait 'till they add the "free DemonHunter pet when you buy gold" to the classic in-game shop
But they don’t have a classic in game shop. They refuse to even do race changes or faction changes much less add other stuff
@@Rexwar31 it's Activision-Blizzard, they will add one anyway
@@caine_inu i don't think, cause they already said official there will be no ingame shop
@@Rexwar31 What does the shop button in the character select screen do? Haven't clicked it yet myself.
@@CJICantLie its about migration to a less populated realm
I agree about making professions valuable!!
Lmao you set my dog off with the squeaky
Wait. Classic gets the Zerg fest AV but BFA gets the original long AV battle. Something seems backwards here.
This is some bs
Dude Nixxion! You seem really happy and full of hope and it really sowed through in this video. I really hope you are right, and Blizz starts making some changes for the better :D
Are they going to go back to the old talent trees? If so that would be amazing.
That's one of the main reasons retail sucks.... no talent tree's
@@stillfree47 I really hate talents 2.0
This nostalgia is the only reason I’m playing again idk about anyone else😇
This video really feels artificially lengthened
I just started playing wow beacause of classic, I play with some friends that are fans of the game since the dawn age. But when I play alone I go for the expanded wow since it's more fast paced and easier to go through alone. To me they are just wildly different games with completely different merits.
Until they fix the class design, it's all pointless.
Although, I'm more hopeful than I have been in the past about the direction they're going. Time will have to tell.
...also, love the memes in this video. XD
Class design is fine, you just suck
Thank you for this video, Nixx. It gives me hope that Blizz is beginning to see that they're turning around for the better and actually listening to the community at large.
Give us TBC and WOTLK also and wow will continue to have a long life.
that would be amazing
@Salterino Kripperino yeah sounds amazing to me! if you dont then thats fine. you are free to play it if you want when it comes out.
@Salterino Kripperino also lfr come out in cata. thats when the game went down hill.
@Salterino Kripperino WotLK was undoubtedly WoW at its peak. Although it changes the core Classic experience, it offers more great content, more Endgame stuff, and PvP is still strong and really fun. Catacalysm is what really started making things going down hill
@Salterino Kripperino Interesting opinion, most players believe WotLK was the best state of wow
Very well put together video good job Nixxiom.
They just need to make WoW 2
What would WoW 2 be for you? I would like the part of every class having a pro and con compared to the other classes and heavy focus on that so you need friends of a different kind throughout the game :)
However it ends or picks back up again. It truly is, The greatest game ever made!
I bet if they removed dungeon/raid finder then the game would be completely different
The sylvanus before hand was yes a messanger of death and an evil person, but she was for the most part ruthless and reasonable now blizzard just wants to force her to one extreme for the sake of plot but w.e
And don't get me started how they killed off Cairne, and the whole Jaina mad as fuck arc.
1:20 never do this again please
Agreed.
Please do it again
Every single one of us classic-enthusiasts called and predicted this happening!!!
But I enjoy the monk class :( can’t be my main in classic
You are gay.
Roy Bodin 🤣🤣
Maybe drop the rng gearing, warforging, titanforging, and bring back vendors + tokens?? I can dream can't I??
The tokens are just as bad as you are just running the same dungeons again and again.
Why do you have Sco on your profile image?
I watched the vid for just about 1 minute. Then I googled "fem nixiom fem moocluck"
WoW post BFA musts
-Complete class overhaul/retooling of EVERY spec
-Rid the game of LFR and Dungeon Finder.
If you think they will remove QoL things like LFG etc. You are kidding yourself.
All they need to do is make every single wow expac.. like classic and 12 million players will be back
Upgrade the graphics and UI but same gameplay like classic!!!
If they update the gameplay sure but right now it’s too simple and super boring
@@ilikefishandpotatoes exactly. Mission table...world quests. Its not an adventure game like classic. Its a log in...do mission table..log out.
Really crap
redglazedeyez I actually think world quests would do well in a Classic version of the game because it forces people out in the world and people are already super social in Classic.
Fuck the mission table though
When Classic came I wanted to play again, but unfortunatly I don't have the money for the subscription. But when I do , I will be playing classic wow and do Alterac Valley and all the old versons of the dungeons and raids. Can't wait to play again.
