The fact that layering is gone is huge for me, now it TRULY feels like back in the day, and I recognize people as I walk around in the world. It's awesome.
I resubbed for classic having canceled my sub in WoD and it's still worth every penny. The main thing that was lost in later expansions was the sense of community. Everyone has been pleasant so far, except for the warlock who kept dotting our tank while we were trying to kill the DM arena boss... but I'll let it slide. I honestly thought there would only be a few raiding guilds per server and I would have to fight in order to get a spot in one, but we've managed to fill our groups (and down 8/10 in MC) every week. This week we'll probably go 10/10 since we will actually be able to summon Domo. Honestly, I would have paid Blizz for this years ago and I'm glad that they finally started listening to their community. With any luck they'll allow us to copy our characters onto a BC server in the future so people can experience what I consider to be "Peak WoW"
So true That is the reason you can enjoy wow so much more, if you are in a guild with some funny and nice people ,you are happy to spend your free time playing it People who play classic are nicer by nature imo just because everything in the game takes so much time, people are more patient and forgiving
I started playing today. I only played Legion for a few months so I'm new. And it's FUCKING EPIC. The starting quests are so hard, you actually need to ask other people for help and work together! How cool is that compared to the singleplayer gameplay of retail!
I’m going to be honest, I just started playing Classic WoW this past week, and I am surprised at how much more fun I am having playing this game compared to the retail game.
Ita fun at first. But it takes so much time to actually reach 60... The journey is fun for a while but everytimes i get bored of retail i go back on classic and i cant play fot more than an hour on my 48 mages. Everything is so slow its crazy.
I'm 64 - retired last year and couldn't wait for Classic WoW because I joined in 2010 WotLK just before Cataclysm and never got to experience Vanilla. Absolutely love Blizzard for putting Classic on the board!
Never played classic before, bit I hit 60 last sunday and let me say that during the leveling process I had a blast, and I'm really looking forward to raiding with my guildies.
I honestly believe the retail wow team must be emberassed that the old version of their game is more popular then the ones they are working on right now.
Ahhh I don't think so, I think each version of the game caters to a different audience. It just seems to be that a rather high percentage of players enjoy what the game was and not what it is. I do believe the dust is still settling but it's good to know we'll have a nice "core" of players to keep the classic fun going for a few years anyway!
@Not Drunk James i think classic brings uniqueness to the classes and because of the class quests and not having classes doing basicly the same thing like most in retail makes it kinda boring less unique. You can argue that having all classes being viable a good thing for retail but it gets streamlined and boring in my opinion.
Please, have you played retail as of late? Over 80% of the RPG elements in that version of the game are gone, and none of them came back. Right now it plays like a parody of what an RPG should be: level 1 characters are donned in the most powerful gear they will have for the next 119 levels right from the get go, gold is unlimited if you know where to look, killing mobs and doing quests is mindlessly easy. On top of that, gear at endgame is totally borked. I can get the same powerful items from killing some baddies on a worldquest as the mighty raiders do if I'm lucky enough. Crafting, player interaction, and charcter growth are at an all time low. I'll give you that yes, techincally retail is an RPG, but it's surely not a good one in my opinion.

Billa Bong You can no longer run around Azeroth By yourself. you have to be wary of what you fight and when you fight it. like for example you can’t pull five mobs and expect to live, most likely you’re going to die and an elite is an actual elite super powerful, and most likely won’t be able to beat it by yourself.
The best game is PONG. No cash shop. No pay to win. No cosmetic cash items. No loot boxes. No surprise mechanics. No servers required. No DRM. No online bullpoo. PONG. Best game ever.
I have had more fun playing this game than i have since probably the end of wrath of the lich king. Our realm is always alive with shenanigans and silly punks making trouble. Its fun to find new friends and help each other through the game. Fun to have a real economy and have to work for gold again. Phase 2 turning Southshore into a complete warzone... reminds me long ago of Wildhammer US when we played horde and used to storm southshore, except I play alliance this time around ;)

I’ve had a lot of fun on classic. Got to 40, got my mount, and honestly haven’t played since. It’s a fun game but idk- I feel like I’ve missed out because I’ve literally not experienced anything I did in the old days not what anyone’s videos have been saying. It’s just been a long endless quest of solitude. And I’m on thalnos too.

Currently a Lv. 51 Ret Paladin on Zandalar Tribe RP-PvP.. Been having an absolute blast and still going strong, even when the horde fight me I fight back.. So far killed over 100 Horde with the honour system in place and I'm sure that will keep rising, my guild been absolutely great too and companionship I made along the way with many of the players are always there.
personally i would be disapointed if WoW classic would move into TBC, because at that point its just going to be delayed retail, eventually moving into WotLK, then cata, MoP, etc. i feel like the best thing to do is create a system like OSRS where they do create new content for classic, but keep it in the classic style, because moving into TBC and other expantions you move into changes in systems and gameplay that came along with those expantions, and before you know it you have dungeon finder, mounts that are learned instead of sitting in your bags, LFR, flying, AP grinds and everything that is not WoW classic. i am not saying WoW classic is the perfect game, its not the best that WoW can be, but the thing is, the best is diffrent for everyone.
The thing is. The level of vanilla p servers were almost equal as good as classic when it comes to scripting etc. The problem was corruption by admins who sold items for irl money (Light's hope/post-notalrius). The only tbc server who was considered topnotch was Gummy's server (Gummy was a genious coder who rewrote the basic code "Mango's" and replaced by passes of the mango code by direct scripts) unfortunately the guy closed the server after a couple of weeks, he opened it a half year later on discretely as "felmyst" which he closed also after a couple of months) So there hasn't been a server out for more than 6 months which could be considered as a decent TBC server. So hence when TBC comes out LOOOOAAAAADS but like LOOAAAAADS of players will play it. As TBC can be considered to be the enhanced version of Vanilla.
@@Vadegu i get your point, but TBC is not enhanced vanilla, its a expantion, and with that expantion came changes to the way things where done in vanilla,. and like i stated before i am not saying that vanilla WoW is the best version of WoW, but the best version of WoW is diffrent to everyone. and if you accept the changes that came along with TBC what sepperates that from the changes that came with WotLK and the changes that came with Cataclysm.

That TBC and WOTLK are the pinnacle of WoW game. And were as TBC is mechanically vanilla wise, WOTLK is mechanically new wow based. (I'm basing myself on the adventuring/PVE-feeling) Let's not include PVP because obviously arena and flying destroyed W-PVP, (I realise these are solely my opinions of course! and forum opinions) Vanilla was a testing terrain, of course a revolution in the MMMORPG arena, hence the impact it made on the gaming world) Although I think the cluncy movement/type of casting where you have to stand to pop most of the abiltiies are still quite similar with vanilla and TBC, where as WOTLK was totally different. The raids in Vanilla aren't that hard but , let us wait when BWL,ZG, AQ comes out, but you'll see it'll be cleared in max 2 hours on release, I dare to bet money on that.But they're FREAKING FUN. (ZG

Currently on Bloodsail Buccaneers sever as of drop of phase 2. For a rp sever South Shore and Hillsbrad Foothills is a war zone and I love it seeing all the different races and people fight all day it’s like it’s own battle ground without a que time.

I've loved classic so far! Im from the states but currently am out of the country so I had to start another account with an EU sub. Now that Im getting ready to travel home Im going to start over again on my original account, because of this I stopped leveling my rogue at 33 and decided to give all my gold to one of my closest friends I made. He responded by saying it was the nicest thing someone has done for him in a video game (gave him about 44 gold lol) and honestly that's something that will stick with me although we won't be playing together anytime soon! It truly is amazing how this game can cultivate such a lively community.
Look, I quit playing classic. I love the game and it was fun to go back, but for me classic is something I’ll play hard once a year for a few weeks. However, if TBC or Wrath comes out... oh I’m in deep
I've grouped up with more people since Classic started than I think I ever did the entire time I've played the game. I'm having so much fun! And for the first time ever, I rolled a mage! Even dying is fun, infuriating, but fun. :) I'm so glad to hear that Classic is doing so awesome.
I absolutely LOVE classic Wow! Cannot express myself how amazing it is to be back and have a meaningful journey through Azeroth. I wish we could have a versino of classic wow forever. Hi Nixxiom awesome videos, I played wow in the very beginning when it first came out and gradually thru the years and stop playing because of my busy schedule and also being a dad, I got back to playing a few months ago and was very exited to see classic back, so I once again got back into it but after a couple months I couldn’t do classic anymore, I really enjoyed it back when I had a bunch of free time but not anymore, I feel like the few hours I get to play have very little progress, I wish i had more time to play classic but at this moment bfa fits much better in my busy schedule, I can get alot more both pve and pvp. I'm just now 49 on my pally which is the level you can get HKs on. It's a bit more annoying but still overall not horrible. Of course now horde like to take over menithil harbor boats and even camping feralas boat. Just call it the classic expierence lol

The only wow I have known was Vanilla wow. I played from 2006-2007 so Vanilla up until BC and it was glorious! I wanted to start up playing WoW Classic at launch with my buddy and we have been in it together since August 27th. Dude seriously... I personally think this is the best MMO that has been created ever. Absolutely perfect system for pve and pvp!!! We have been having a blast even though we both can't play that often due to working fulltime, spending time with our significant other, family, and friends. I haven't been this addicted to a game since the launch of Guild Wars 2 in 2012. It's just so damn fun!!! I started out with a Orc Rogue main on Herod and got him up to level 42, then I decided I wanted more of a challenge so I rerolled to an Undead Mage and I am loving it!!! Currently level 48 so my life is over and I am going to be honor farmed by 60's. But you know what? I don't care!!!! It's fun, I love PvP, I love the game, and I won't be unsubbing for a really long time. FOR THE HORDE!!!
To be fair, they did say this quarter so it is also including everyone who subbed at launch. The active player count has been rapidly declining ever since launch. We won't really know if the community is growing until next year. But it is pretty sweet. Some servers are still packed with decent near 50/50 Horde/alliance ratios in my region.
I'm loving it. 33 years old, when I log in it takes me back to that excited 19yr old who logged in all day evry day. Just wish I had as much free time as I used to

I started with classic (1 month after release) , tried out each class and having a ton of fun. I sticked to Warlock, did some quests and dungeon and god damn every new level and new piece of equipment felt soooo good. And then I hit lvl 52 and phase 2 honor system was released. I can't play more than an hour without ragequitting after beeing camped by a group of 60 at every single street and city, while I can't find groups for dungeon, becasue me idiot transfered from Transcedence to Heartseeker. Oh damn how I regret not rolling on a pve Server. I never rly was in pvp, but the pve server queue were so long >.>. BTW Great Video!
You still can roll on a pve server... I wasn't even on a pvp server, I was on bloodsail and I moved to mankrik starting from scratch because it has a larger and better population. Other people are doing that too so you won't be alone.

The part where you mention the new players being able to no life the game really resonates. I love this game and it should be experienced how we had experienced it so long ago. I hope the young new players get as obsessed as we were.
Imagine how much more that success could of been if they didn't make people unsub over their recent controversy. They couldn't even give Classic WoW 1 full month controversy free to reach the peak it could of reached. Classic WoW was the #1 game on Twitch for the first few weeks until recently when that *THING* happened... and then I saw the long list of mass unsub screenshots posted on imgur and reddit... but the game itself is still good and I'm glad its doing well, sometimes you need to separate the game from the publisher to enjoy it.
They did not make people unsub, people choose to. Phase 2 started and it is not even on top 10 on twitch. I don't think so many quit because HK. How many watch it on twitch is not true representation how many play the game. It is still huge number, not cut down like 10 times like twitch views.

Is it really? From what I heard down the grapevine, phase 2 has been a disaster and even Asmongold is getting bored of the game. Not a troll comment. Genuinely surprised to hear its still really bumping.
For some reason I believe nixxiom doesn't even play that much He said phase 2 brought us diremaul, which has been out for weeks now. Still I think asmongolds experience is much different from every other person Noone else has people following him around or waiting before every raid to gank him
As a level 60 resto druid, it's been fine. I found after a couple days of running back and forth like a hk farming tide in tarren Mill, the shine does wear off pretty fast. I was fortunate enough to hit 60 2 days before p2 arrived but my friends who aren't so lucky at 48 and 53 are just being farmed relentlessly on sight so I can see the pros and cons of having honour but no bgs yet. Fun experience for myself just to see it for the first time but maybe they should consider popping in bgs sooner rather than later for the poor souls who didn't hit 60 yet!
@@zday40k yea I agree with that. The private server I played on had bgs enabled right at the start and STILL there were people in un goro / menethil harbor / burning stepps camping flightpaths, but it was only 1-2 people at a time. Obviously without any bg everyone has to do this kind of shit
Hey Nixxiom, with my poor english, I rly want to give you my wow classic experience So, I am a 18 yrs old’s girl who never played wow classic. I started with the very end of wotlk thank to my sister’s husband. Currently, I have 20 days in my played, with 12 days of leveling and I absolutely love classic. Y’know, I never had to experience a community like this. The thing that I like the most probably (with PvP) is the fact that you recognised a player name that you have played with and even if they are not from your guild or you don’t talk to them often, they will recognise you and /waves « hey, last scholo was clean, want to do it again ? » Or you recognise that horde player you camped for 3h straight during the leveling, and now he is with 4 others peoples, and you know he’s gonna fuck you in the ass (but i’m a pally so bubble+heartstone). Littles things make the game vry enjoyable for me, hope it’s the same for you !

Nixxiom, my man. I love how passionate you speak about Classic, it's inspiring in its own right. As for my experience with Classic, it's been interesting. I was there on launch day, I lagged like crazy, tried to get into parties for quest with complete randoms, met up with those same randoms few days later for other quest zones. Unlike retail, I actually left myself logged in on general and trade chat. The grind to level is very noticeable compared to retail. It's kind of like most other mmos but has it's own unique charm. Now, I didn't play Classic way back in the day (I originally started during the pre-wrath launch event) so I'm not too nostalgic about the game, but I do miss the talent system, and having class quests. Those made both each spec and class feel special. The closest on retail (or at least, in recent memory) they've got was the legendary artifact back in Legion... but that is nothing in comparison to the talents+quests. Love the content man, thanks for sharing~
I'm glad the folks who prefer that game have it back. Personally I tried to get into Classic, got a warlock to 42, and just decided it wasn't worth the trouble. Had a tough time dealing with constant mob/herb node/chest ninjas, had a tough time getting help to do elite quests and form dungeon groups, and honestly just wasn't having that much fun. Just my experience though, if folks here have had different ones and are enjoying it more, I'm happy for them. Personally I just have genuinely more fun with retail. So much more content for me to enjoy and so much more to look forward to. I have a good, friendly guild there and am just having a blast.
@@Radial9Gaming actually that is a very common way to see interest/community in a game and most publishing sites and analytics use it to gauge player interest in a particular game / genre. Usually a game with a lot of interest, player draw and hype has a lot of views and a lot of people watch it has high viewership numbers. Classic has 1 major flaw atm though, its a LATE patch so raids and dungeons are after tons of nerfs and tuning so people can go through them fairly efficiently. I just wonder will Classic -> BC or Classic -> Classic + (basically like Runescape with a new progression storyline)
@@MCG55SS it's a stupid way to gauge popularity. twitch viewers usually watch a new game that just came or has some major content and dies down a few days later, but the game is still popular. also some games are not as interesting being watched as they are played, and they are still popular.
Yesterday i was doing a quest in Redridge Mountain and grouped up with a pally and i noticed that he was keyboard turning and needing everything that dropped even things he couldnt use so i took soem time to explain to him about the importance of server reputation and etiquete in classic wow, he thanked me and told this was the first MMO he ever played and he will take these lessons to heart! It was a small event but it stuck with me :D its kinda cool to see so many 100% fresh players starting to adventure in the Azeroth!
I was having a blast till about the mid 40's, thats when the retail started coming out of people....gone were the buffs and group ups for mobs and in came kill stealing, rude whispers, and chat shaming.
Haven't experienced that at all on my eu pvp server. Just had an amazing zf spellcleave group last night with lots of fun and laughter (and wipes, yes we're noobs)! However, when I played on a german pve server, ppl were sometimes quite rude in dungeons (nothing against germans)
Dont care how popular it is or how “good” it is. Im sticking with retail and have no intentions to play classic. I love the current game as it is and am having a blast in BfA.
hrm, I am playing, but I am not hooked, been there done that, BUT When I do play I have a joyful feeling which I do not have in Retail BfA, I am fully in support for Classic and its community and i can only applaud you guys, thank you for fighting for this
Classic does take some getting used to. You have to read the quest descriptions carefully to get the clues on where and how to complete the quest. Some quests are hidden and require exploration to find. The mobs can kill you if you get outnumbered, or if you go against an elite. But what makes it work is that sense of accomplishment for completing the quest, the companionship that will develop naturally as you work with other players and the pride of working together as a team going through a dungeon. Also, Leeroy Jenkins.
Funny people say they have less time to play classic. When I was young I had to go to school and do homework and play sports and go 2 bed at a reasonable time, participate in extracurricular activities etc.... Now I come home from my job that I can sometimes play WoW at and can stay up til 4am every night and tell anyone to fuck off who dare disturb me, life is good.
Damn your speech toward the end made me relive my Classic/TBC Azeroth memories. Amazing times they were. So happy for younger kids to experience this game the way we did. Brings joy to my heart lol
That last comment about The Burning Crusade being added, I don’t think that’s going to happen. But what I do believe if it was to happen, is that blizzard will make a BC server and keep classic as a separate server and possibly continue with that idea in mind for future expansions if that was to be the case.

Yes, I've never tried classic WoW before, and I love it.
I resubbed for classic having canceled my sub in WoD and it's still worth every penny. The main thing that was lost in later expansions was the sense of community. Everyone has been pleasant so far, except for the warlock who kept dotting our tank while we were trying to kill the DM arena boss... but I'll let it slide. I honestly thought there would only be a few raiding guilds per server and I would have to fight in order to get a spot in one, but we've managed to fill our groups (and down 8/10 in MC) every week. This week we'll probably go 10/10 since we will actually be able to summon Domo. Honestly, I would have paid Blizz for this years ago and I'm glad that they finally started listening to their community. With any luck they'll allow us to copy our characters onto a BC server in the future so people can experience what I consider to be "Peak WoW"

People who play classic are nicer by nature imo just because everything in the game takes so much time, people are more patient and forgiving

I started playing today. I only played Legion for a few months so I'm new. And it's FUCKING EPIC. The starting quests are so hard, you actually need to ask other people for help and work together! How cool is that compared to the singleplayer gameplay of retail!

Ita fun at first. But it takes so much time to actually reach 60... The journey is fun for a while but everytimes i get bored of retail i go back on classic and i cant play fot more than an hour on my 48 mages. Everything is so slow its crazy.

Never played classic before, bit I hit 60 last sunday and let me say that during the leveling process I had a blast, and I'm really looking forward to raiding with my guildies.
I honestly believe the retail wow team must be emberassed that the old version of their game is more popular then the ones they are working on right now.

Ahhh I don't think so, I think each version of the game caters to a different audience. It just seems to be that a rather high percentage of players enjoy what the game was and not what it is.
I do believe the dust is still settling but it's good to know we'll have a nice "core" of players to keep the classic fun going for a few years anyway!

@Not Drunk James i think classic brings uniqueness to the classes and because of the class quests and not having classes doing basicly the same thing like most in retail makes it kinda boring less unique. You can argue that having all classes being viable a good thing for retail but it gets streamlined and boring in my opinion.

Please, have you played retail as of late? Over 80% of the RPG elements in that version of the game are gone, and none of them came back.
Right now it plays like a parody of what an RPG should be: level 1 characters are donned in the most powerful gear they will have for the next 119 levels right from the get go, gold is unlimited if you know where to look, killing mobs and doing quests is mindlessly easy.
On top of that, gear at endgame is totally borked. I can get the same powerful items from killing some baddies on a worldquest as the mighty raiders do if I'm lucky enough.
Crafting, player interaction, and charcter growth are at an all time low.
I'll give you that yes, techincally retail is an RPG, but it's surely not a good one in my opinion.

Billa Bong You can no longer run around Azeroth By yourself. you have to be wary of what you fight and when you fight it. like for example you can’t pull five mobs and expect to live, most likely you’re going to die and an elite is an actual elite super powerful, and most likely won’t be able to beat it by yourself.

Man Classic has been a blast. i havent been this hooked to game since WoW's original launch all those years ago.
The best game is PONG. No cash shop. No pay to win. No cosmetic cash items. No loot boxes. No surprise mechanics. No servers required. No DRM. No online bullpoo. PONG. Best game ever.
I have had more fun playing this game than i have since probably the end of wrath of the lich king. Our realm is always alive with shenanigans and silly punks making trouble. Its fun to find new friends and help each other through the game. Fun to have a real economy and have to work for gold again. Phase 2 turning Southshore into a complete warzone... reminds me long ago of Wildhammer US when we played horde and used to storm southshore, except I play alliance this time around ;)

It’s a fun game but idk- I feel like I’ve missed out because I’ve literally not experienced anything I did in the old days not what anyone’s videos have been saying. Currently a Lv. 51 Ret Paladin on Zandalar Tribe RP-PvP.. Been having an absolute blast and still going strong, even when the horde fight me I fight back.. So far killed over 100 Horde with the honour system in place and I'm sure that will keep rising, my guild been absolutely great too and companionship I made along the way with many of the players are always there.

personally i would be disapointed if WoW classic would move into TBC, because at that point its just going to be delayed retail, eventually moving into WotLK, then cata, MoP, etc.
i feel like the best thing to do is create a system like OSRS where they do create new content for classic, but keep it in the classic style, because moving into TBC and other expantions you move into changes in systems and gameplay that came along with those expantions, and before you know it you have dungeon finder, mounts that are learned instead of sitting in your bags, LFR, flying, AP grinds and everything that is not WoW classic.
i am not saying WoW classic is the perfect game, its not the best that WoW can be, but the thing is, the best is diffrent for everyone.
The thing is.
The level of vanilla p servers were almost equal as good as classic when it comes to scripting etc. The problem was corruption by admins who sold items for irl money (Light's hope/post-notalrius).
The only tbc server who was considered topnotch was Gummy's server (Gummy was a genious coder who rewrote the basic code "Mango's" and replaced by passes of the mango code by direct scripts)
unfortunately the guy closed the server after a couple of weeks, he opened it a half year later on discretely as "felmyst" which he closed also after a couple of months) So there hasn't been a server out for more than 6 months which could be considered as a decent TBC server. So hence when TBC comes out LOOOOAAAAADS but like LOOAAAAADS of players will play it. As TBC can be considered to be the enhanced version of Vanilla.

and like i stated before i am not saying that vanilla WoW is the best version of WoW, but the best version of WoW is diffrent to everyone.
and if you accept the changes that came along with TBC what sepperates that from the changes that came with WotLK and the changes that came with Cataclysm.

That TBC and WOTLK are the pinnacle of WoW game. And were as TBC is mechanically vanilla wise, WOTLK is mechanically new wow based. (I'm basing myself on the adventuring/PVE-feeling) Let's not include PVP because obviously arena and flying destroyed W-PVP, (I realise these are solely my opinions of course! and forum opinions)
Vanilla was a testing terrain, of course a revolution in the MMMORPG arena, hence the impact it made on the gaming world)
Although I think the cluncy movement/type of casting where you have to stand to pop most of the abiltiies are still quite similar with vanilla and TBC, where as WOTLK was totally different.
The raids in Vanilla aren't that hard but , let us wait when BWL,ZG, AQ comes out, but you'll see it'll be cleared in max 2 hours on release, I dare to bet money on that.But they're FREAKING FUN. (ZG

Currently on Bloodsail Buccaneers sever as of drop of phase 2. For a rp sever South Shore and Hillsbrad Foothills is a war zone and I love it seeing all the different races and people fight all day it’s like it’s own battle ground without a que time.

I've loved classic so far! Im from the states but currently am out of the country so I had to start another account with an EU sub. Now that Im getting ready to travel home Im going to start over again on my original account, because of this I stopped leveling my rogue at 33 and decided to give all my gold to one of my closest friends I made. He responded by saying it was the nicest thing someone has done for him in a video game (gave him about 44 gold lol) and honestly that's something that will stick with me although we won't be playing together anytime soon! It truly is amazing how this game can cultivate such a lively community.
Look, I quit playing classic. I love the game and it was fun to go back, but for me classic is something I’ll play hard once a year for a few weeks.
However, if TBC or Wrath comes out... oh I’m in deep
I miss all the raiding I did during Wrath, after that expansion the raiding didn't seem as much fun and all people cared about was their ilvl.
I've grouped up with more people since Classic started than I think I ever did the entire time I've played the game. I'm having so much fun! And for the first time ever, I rolled a mage! Even dying is fun, infuriating, but fun. :) I'm so glad to hear that Classic is doing so awesome.

I played wow in the very beginning when it first came out and gradually thru the years and stop playing because of my busy schedule and also being a dad, I got back to playing a few months ago and was very exited to see classic back, so I once again got back into it but after a couple months I couldn’t do classic anymore, I really enjoyed it back when I had a bunch of free time but not anymore, I feel like the few hours I get to play have very little progress, I wish i had more time to play classic but at this moment bfa fits much better in my busy schedule, I can get alot more both pve and pvp.

I'm just now 49 on my pally which is the level you can get HKs on. It's a bit more annoying but still overall not horrible. Of course now horde like to take over menithil harbor boats and even camping feralas boat. Just call it the classic expierence lol

The only wow I have known was Vanilla wow. I played from 2006-2007 so Vanilla up until BC and it was glorious! I wanted to start up playing WoW Classic at launch with my buddy and we have been in it together since August 27th. Dude seriously... I personally think this is the best MMO that has been created ever. Absolutely perfect system for pve and pvp!!! We have been having a blast even though we both can't play that often due to working fulltime, spending time with our significant other, family, and friends.
I haven't been this addicted to a game since the launch of Guild Wars 2 in 2012. It's just so damn fun!!!
I started out with a Orc Rogue main on Herod and got him up to level 42, then I decided I wanted more of a challenge so I rerolled to an Undead Mage and I am loving it!!! Currently level 48 so my life is over and I am going to be honor farmed by 60's. But you know what? I don't care!!!! It's fun, I love PvP, I love the game, and I won't be unsubbing for a really long time.

To be fair, they did say this quarter so it is also including everyone who subbed at launch. The active player count has been rapidly declining ever since launch. We won't really know if the community is growing until next year. But it is pretty sweet. Some servers are still packed with decent near 50/50 Horde/alliance ratios in my region.

I started with classic (1 month after release) , tried out each class and having a ton of fun. I sticked to Warlock, did some quests and dungeon and god damn every new level and new piece of equipment felt soooo good. And then I hit lvl 52 and phase 2 honor system was released. I can't play more than an hour without ragequitting after beeing camped by a group of 60 at every single street and city, while I can't find groups for dungeon, becasue me idiot transfered from Transcedence to Heartseeker. Oh damn how I regret not rolling on a pve Server. I never rly was in pvp, but the pve server queue were so long >.>. BTW Great Video!
You still can roll on a pve server... I wasn't even on a pvp server, I was on bloodsail and I moved to mankrik starting from scratch because it has a larger and better population. Other people are doing that too so you won't be alone.

Imagine how much more that success could of been if they didn't make people unsub over their recent controversy. They couldn't even give Classic WoW 1 full month controversy free to reach the peak it could of reached. Classic WoW was the #1 game on Twitch for the first few weeks until recently when that *THING* happened... and then I saw the long list of mass unsub screenshots posted on imgur and reddit... but the game itself is still good and I'm glad its doing well, sometimes you need to separate the game from the publisher to enjoy it.
They did not make people unsub, people choose to. Phase 2 started and it is not even on top 10 on twitch. I don't think so many quit because HK. How many watch it on twitch is not true representation how many play the game. It is still huge number, not cut down like 10 times like twitch views.

Still I think asmongolds experience is much different from every other person
Noone else has people following him around or waiting before every raid to gank him
As a level 60 resto druid, it's been fine. I found after a couple days of running back and forth like a hk farming tide in tarren Mill, the shine does wear off pretty fast. I was fortunate enough to hit 60 2 days before p2 arrived but my friends who aren't so lucky at 48 and 53 are just being farmed relentlessly on sight so I can see the pros and cons of having honour but no bgs yet. Fun experience for myself just to see it for the first time but maybe they should consider popping in bgs sooner rather than later for the poor souls who didn't hit 60 yet!
@@zday40k yea I agree with that. The private server I played on had bgs enabled right at the start and STILL there were people in un goro / menethil harbor / burning stepps camping flightpaths, but it was only 1-2 people at a time.
Obviously without any bg everyone has to do this kind of shit

I have two characters in level 26. Wish I had more time to play. I started at the same time as everyone else did.

Hey Nixxiom, with my poor english, I rly want to give you my wow classic experience
So, I am a 18 yrs old’s girl who never played wow classic. I started with the very end of wotlk thank to my sister’s husband.
Currently, I have 20 days in my played, with 12 days of leveling and I absolutely love classic.
Y’know, I never had to experience a community like this.
The thing that I like the most probably (with PvP) is the fact that you recognised a player name that you have played with and even if they are not from your guild or you don’t talk to them often, they will recognise you and /waves « hey, last scholo was clean, want to do it again ? »
Or you recognise that horde player you camped for 3h straight during the leveling, and now he is with 4 others peoples, and you know he’s gonna fuck you in the ass (but i’m a pally so bubble+heartstone).
Littles things make the game vry enjoyable for me, hope it’s the same for you !
And what, pray tell, was wrong with your English, exactly?... Relax, you're doin' just fine. And it's good to hear folks now who are picking up the game and enjoying it instead of just old players trying to relive their glory days like a pensioner saving up for that '68 Corvette they couldn't get in high-school.

Nixxiom, my man. I love how passionate you speak about Classic, it's inspiring in its own right.
As for my experience with Classic, it's been interesting. I was there on launch day, I lagged like crazy, tried to get into parties for quest with complete randoms, met up with those same randoms few days later for other quest zones. Unlike retail, I actually left myself logged in on general and trade chat. The grind to level is very noticeable compared to retail.
It's kind of like most other mmos but has it's own unique charm. Now, I didn't play Classic way back in the day (I originally started during the pre-wrath launch event) so I'm not too nostalgic about the game, but I do miss the talent system, and having class quests. Those made both each spec and class feel special. The closest on retail (or at least, in recent memory) they've got was the legendary artifact back in Legion... but that is nothing in comparison to the talents+quests.

I really hope they bring layering back to large servers. The amount of people and ganking especially in p2 is plain not fun.
I've been needing to turn in a quest in gadgetzan for 2 days now and still cant fly in without dying instantly at the fp. XD
I get around this by playing when most people are asleep lol

I'm glad the folks who prefer that game have it back. Personally I tried to get into Classic, got a warlock to 42, and just decided it wasn't worth the trouble. Had a tough time dealing with constant mob/herb node/chest ninjas, had a tough time getting help to do elite quests and form dungeon groups, and honestly just wasn't having that much fun. Just my experience though, if folks here have had different ones and are enjoying it more, I'm happy for them.
Personally I just have genuinely more fun with retail. So much more content for me to enjoy and so much more to look forward to. I have a good, friendly guild there and am just having a blast.
Is Classic really that popular tho? Because when i look on Twitch WoW has the same views as it had in BfA times. Is there any evidence i can look at?

@@Radial9Gaming actually that is a very common way to see interest/community in a game and most publishing sites and analytics use it to gauge player interest in a particular game / genre. Usually a game with a lot of interest, player draw and hype has a lot of views and a lot of people watch it has high viewership numbers. Classic has 1 major flaw atm though, its a LATE patch so raids and dungeons are after tons of nerfs and tuning so people can go through them fairly efficiently. I just wonder will Classic -> BC or Classic -> Classic + (basically like Runescape with a new progression storyline)
@@MCG55SS it's a stupid way to gauge popularity. twitch viewers usually watch a new game that just came or has some major content and dies down a few days later, but the game is still popular. also some games are not as interesting being watched as they are played, and they are still popular.
Yesterday i was doing a quest in Redridge Mountain and grouped up with a pally and i noticed that he was keyboard turning and needing everything that dropped even things he couldnt use so i took soem time to explain to him about the importance of server reputation and etiquete in classic wow, he thanked me and told this was the first MMO he ever played and he will take these lessons to heart! It was a small event but it stuck with me :D its kinda cool to see so many 100% fresh players starting to adventure in the Azeroth!
I was having a blast till about the mid 40's, thats when the retail started coming out of people....gone were the buffs and group ups for mobs and in came kill stealing, rude whispers, and chat shaming.
Shure glad that that hasn't been too dominant of a thing on my server xD

Haven't experienced that at all on my eu pvp server. Just had an amazing zf spellcleave group last night with lots of fun and laughter (and wipes, yes we're noobs)! However, when I played on a german pve server, ppl were sometimes quite rude in dungeons (nothing against germans)
Yea, people from private servers are buy scouts, or maybe you never played on some of private servers.

Dont care how popular it is or how “good” it is. Im sticking with retail and have no intentions to play classic. I love the current game as it is and am having a blast in BfA.

hrm, I am playing, but I am not hooked, been there done that, BUT When I do play I have a joyful feeling which I do not have in Retail BfA, I am fully in support for Classic and its community and i can only applaud you guys, thank you for fighting for this
Idk... I tried out Classic but i didn't exactly have as much fun as i thought i was gonna have.
Classic does take some getting used to. You have to read the quest descriptions carefully to get the clues on where and how to complete the quest. Some quests are hidden and require exploration to find. The mobs can kill you if you get outnumbered, or if you go against an elite. But what makes it work is that sense of accomplishment for completing the quest, the companionship that will develop naturally as you work with other players and the pride of working together as a team going through a dungeon.

It's not for everyone, it sure wasn't for me. Made it about 2 weeks before getting bored.
Funny people say they have less time to play classic. When I was young I had to go to school and do homework and play sports and go 2 bed at a reasonable time, participate in extracurricular activities etc.... Now I come home from my job that I can sometimes play WoW at and can stay up til 4am every night and tell anyone to fuck off who dare disturb me, life is good.
Retail is better, classic is a slow time sync.
Damn your speech toward the end made me relive my Classic/TBC Azeroth memories. Amazing times they were. So happy for younger kids to experience this game the way we did. Brings joy to my heart lol

That last comment about The Burning Crusade being added, I don’t think that’s going to happen. But what I do believe if it was to happen, is that blizzard will make a BC server and keep classic as a separate server and possibly continue with that idea in mind for future expansions if that was to be the case.
