I listened to it. I did love his passion, it was slightly better than this solo one. But it’s definitely not for me. It’s similar to when people say Ronnie James Dio. Is the best or one of the best singers in hard rock/Metal, Dio. I can’t even listen to Dio’s voice, because it actually to me sounds like one of the worse rock singers I’ve heard it actually hearts my ears. P.S. in no way am I saying Bradley is as horrible as Dio’s voice sounds in my ears.
When I found out Charles Bradley died... I remember where I was.... It was the afternoon, when I got the news. I looped his first album for months. I was devastated. I wanted to know did he die without getting what he deserved (love and success). I was happy to find that before he passed away, he got when truly deserved: success. Charles Bradley is an American success story who beat the odds in almost every way imaginable. He is extraordinary. I really hope daptone talks to a huge movie company and make biopic about him. It would be critically acclaimed. He is the American Dream. Just no one told us how hard it would be a get the dream. I am still devastated about his death. And to be honest, I feel very angry. So many people claim to support good music... Toss his name in conversation and idiots will say the latest "lil" sensation. This guy is a legend.
Man... this was his best performance ever. He spent his life trying to be the next James Brown. He only really came into himself recently. This song was a complete outpouring of his Soul. It's as beautiful as it is haunting. RIP Charles. Thank you for sharing your gift

He was born in Gainesville, Florida but grew up in Brooklyn, New York... Ran away at 14 to escape poor living conditions and his mom. Was homeless and living in the subway. Was a James Brown impersonator to make money and got discovered. Released his first album at 62. Died at 68 from stomach cancer....
