Scholars of old would refrain and fear giving fatwa on even the simplest matters of Deen. Nowadays it is norm to see or hear a student of Deen confidently and at times egotistically pass a ruling over a grave matter. May Allah guide us all, Amiin.

    Assalam o alaikum,
Bismillah. Brother Hijab you make some very valid points. Although, in defense of brother AbdulRahhman Hasan, he also made some valid points regarding the inherent backbiting and "tribal" behaviors associated with the sociology of the sport. And of course the point about the exposed 'Awrah of the football players and both men and women audiences observing this, was significant. In my opinion (which probably doesn't matter), I believe the problem isn't intrinsically with the mechanics of the sport but rather with what the sport has become. And I think that's what Muslims need to be cautious about. May Allah reward you all. Assalam o alaikum.

Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan is one of the best things that has happened to TH-cam. So much knowledge, so much akhlak and such a great example for the youth. Brother Mohammed, I like your videos where you defend Islam, but respectfully you are nowhere near the level of knowledge of someone like Ustad Abdulrahman Hassan. You are simply not even close to being qualified to even debate someone of his calibre. You may know a lot about philosophy and history but in actual Islamic Sciences you yourself know you don't count as a scholar or even a student of knowledge.
I rarely come to the defense of people, but I cannot begin to describe how beneficial the Ustad's lectures and videos have been to me and to the community who follows Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah. It's difficult enough to find actual knowledgeable English-language Muslim content (note: knowledgeable, Speaker's Corner is just debating and da'wah, it's not the same; English Muslim social media is full of da'wah but desperately low on actual knowledge, Alhamdulillah I speak other languages so I can seek other Ustadhs). You should be humble and support the people of knowledge, because they are the heart of the Ummah, while you are supposed to be following them, not acting superior to them and exposing them to the youth who do not understand whom to look up to and whom to take knowledge from.
Please do not let your many followers and big status delude you into being arrogant, my brother. I hope anyone reading this can check out Ustad's channel and benefit from the great knowledge and example that he sets. Please brother, set a good example to the youth, who comprise the vast majority of your followers. Look at these comments and how much they make negative assumptions. Wallahi, these accusations are not accurate. Wallahi, my fellow youth, please check Ustad's channel and watch his other videos before you judge.
This is not correct. May Allah protect and increase Ustad Abdulrahman Hassan in patience and knowledge. May the misunderstandings and accusations in the comments remove his sins in the 10 blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. May Allah bless all the students of knowledge.

Comments like "he has too much time for such thoughts" are disrespectful. Do you think the enemies of greater scholars of the past were also concerned about the time of the scholars? Shariah just works like that, you take the evidence we know and try to implement it into today. People do not understand that one should not only look at the results of past scholars, but their approach to interpreting the evidence. This video and these comments prove to me once again that the biggest problem in our society is the lack of respect for differences of opinion.

It does open up a can of worms. Because then that logic needs to be applied to everything. Like buying cars, buying certain pens and etc. Not even that, allot of things which we do on a daily basis are of pagan origin. And its not a waste of time because in actuality it brings communties closer together and allows for a segway of communication and interaction between different faiths so we can get along better as a society. Its even an opportunity for Dawah by seeing so many muslim players like Kante, Salah, Mane, Ozil etc with how generous in donation they are and when they stick to their convictions there are many people who watch this and become inspired and want to learn more about islam. The same way wrestling back in the time of the prophet Muhammad Salalahualaihiwasalam was watched by others and people of different faiths wrestled eachother and praised eachother for their wrestling abilities and techniques the same is done with Futbol no? Polygamy would solve such issue and give dignity to both mistress and the child. Having a wife is different to having a side b**ch. Every wife needs to have a house provided for her and equal time needs to be shared among wives. It is more headache than pleasure for the man at the end.

The use of sound reasoning in making sense of adillat from the Quran and Sunnah is needed in order to form correct judgements.
Bringing ayaat and ahaadith without proper critical analysis leads to misapplication of the adillat. This was clearly shown in Ustadh's Abdurrahman's use of the verse 44 from surat al Ma'idah in forbidding football.
Disparaging Mo Hijab's arguments under the convenient pretext of 'Ustadh using ayaat and ahaadith' is totally delusional.
Furthermore, Mo Hijab clearly used evidence from the Quran and sunnah in putting forth his arguments.

      بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
It is clear from reading this comments section that some people have done an absolutely pathetic job of trying to understand the arguments made by the respected Ustadh (حفظه الله) and infact completely butchered what was said.
You see comments like "O well, don't follow traffic laws then" or "well then children who make their own games are ruling by other than Allah Azzawajal's Law" etc. Anyone who had watched the podcast would know that the Ustadh explicitly said this is not what he meant.
Then there were those who said that "Then we shouldn't leave our houses because we can get injured".
Once again the point was, Football as a game HAS SCOPE FOR FOULING. There are two types of tackling (according to football). One that is allowed, and that is off the Ball, and the second is that of the player which is not allowed. There are players WHO MALICIOUSLY TACKLE TO OBTAIN AND INJURY and The Ustadh made the point that the most such players will get is a red card or perhaps a fine. This is the problematic issue since these specific rules of football completely contradict Islamic rulings on Qisas as explained by the Ustadh. A better analogy for this would be, you go on the street and purposefully trip someone leading to them breaking their leg. This is not allowed in football but there is provisions for it to take place WITHOUT THE PLAYER RECEIVING ANYTHING MORE THAN A RED CARD OR FINE.
This clearly shows how deep the love of football has penetrated the hearts that people who loosened their tongues and backbitten the Ustadh severely due to their beloved being attacked. We ask Allah Azzawajal alone for justice
THIS IS PURPOSEFUL INJURY, NOT ACCIDENTAL EVEN

This is what happens when you really really want to prove something is haraam. Your ego takes command of your brain. Rather take a balanced approach and warn people against excessively watching of football

I'm a dedicated subscriber and viewer of this channel but I have to admit that Ustadh Abdurrahman Hassan does make some good points which causes one to think. What's so special about watching or playing football anyway? It might not be haram or sinful but in essence, it's just entertainment and a relatively tame manner to while away time. Also, Hijab came off as quite a bit rude and arrogant towards AH. May Allah forgive us and guide us all. Ameen.

Yeah honestly he needs to be a bit humble. He's right most of the times but shouldnt he personally talk with him first? The first thing he does us go online and make a video about it.

This isn’t how you should be addressing nor critiquing another person of knowledge. Why are you always speaking with such pomp and arrogance ? You can say “with all due respect” as much as you like but your smirk and choice of wording hides nothing. Regardless of whether or not he said the wrong this, your reacting and your pomp and arrogance and treatment of another Muslim leads me to believe you have too much Pride in your heart. Do not think you have become someone Mohammed Hijab for you are less than a drop of water in the ocean just like the rest of us. May Allah have mercy on us.

You didn’t even start the video off explaining who this person is and how much good he has done for others. Instead I’m looking at the comments in this video and people are suggesting he’s a radical and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Astaghfirullah. This is the type of behaviour you promote on your platform?

Look at the bloody TH-cam comments ??? Why are all your people attacking him? A year ago you did a whole interview with him and even then you couldn’t speak to the brother respectfully. Now look at your followers and look at the things they say about the Ustadh. Look at the majority of the comments on this video and you tell me if you did more good than bad ????

The way I see it is that Muhammad Hijab's response is the unreasonable one
Just because it is hypothetically possible to rule according to the Islamic laws if the game is played in a place where Sharia is applied does not mean that there is no problem when Muslims support this system in which no crime is punished according to the Islamic laws , whether it is cheating or insulting players and fans or causing injures you will not find anywhere in the world where football-related crimes are dealt with according to Islamic laws
And you shouldn't ridicule someone just for addressing this problem

All of those things you mentioned are against the rules and nobody accepts them (except some for the cheating one). What Mohammed Hijab said makes sense. By the way, if you accept this line of thinking, then all contact sports would be impermissible according to you along with most other sports.
