    I own 5 Benson guitars including the 45 anniversary I can not hear much difference, The GB10 has a spruce top and is 1/4 inch wider than the se. I believe PU are the same. With the foam removed from bridge it would make it vibrate more could make it ever so slightly brighter. Nice playing. I know the Japanese guitars are flawless...what is your opinion on the SE having played both. Be well and thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for kind words!
      In this video somehow I tried to make it sound natural to my ears through my monitor speakers and so the EQ became not neutral. Almost zero bass and treble. If I have time, I will produce sound clips again to have flat EQ and post another video in the near future.
      The deepness of the resonant was superior on the Japanese one. But I felt SE was more balanced in overall sound. Sounded like a bit laminated tone wood which is very charming. If I didn't have the Japanese one I would be satisfied with the SE! But it's true that SE was lack in bass frequency than Japan one.
      GB10(Japan)'s tone is deep and pure which can be felt by your body, not through from a video clip like this 😂

      Great would love to hear it. I ordered a Ibanez GB10SEFM SRR Sapphire Red should be here friday...I just have to play one to find out. Got a great deal from the EU Brand new 1250 + 75 shipping. I will add to the LGB300 and the rest of the collection. Be well my friend.@@dparknote

      If the sound difference is not recognizable … the sturdiness of a Made In Japan PRESTIGE levff re l guitar is most certainly felt .
      The durability of a Prestige level (Made In Japan) Ibanez is WORLD of difference in sturdiness & durability

      @@clydebermingham121 Totally agree, the look is similar but the Japanese model towers above the Indo model in fit finish and high quality materials. Thank for sharing and be well.

    Thanks, just the comparison I was looking for. To me the SE sounds a little warmer, (maybe because of the foam). If I get one maybe I'll leave the foam on. In any case this makes it hard to justify spending so much more for the MIJ version.

    Very encompassing comparison. Can you say more about what strings you used on both, what tone settings, and how you recorded (amp, mic, or DI, software, etc)? TIA 👍

    • @dparknote
      @dparknote  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Factory strings. The recording was DI through my audio interface and used Neural DSP Cory Wong. Clean Amp model and almost zero bass, middle 7.5/10, almost zero treble. Just tried to sound natural with the Neural DSP. (Didn't mean to emphasize the middle sound.)

    Thanks for this! How would you compare the feel of them, not sound? The playability of the neck, comfortability, etc? Thanks!

    • @dparknote
      @dparknote  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't remember it clearly now but it was less different than between PRS core vs SE feeling. For example PRS Core is superior in every single point than PRS SE. I think I didn't feel a huge difference in playability and the build quality. GB10SE was noticeably lighter in weight than GB10, and didn't feel any "cheap".

    All GB10’s sound wonderful … (generally ) … and sound about same &/or similar
    But durability of a Made In Japan is WAY MORE

    How can you do a tone comparison when you haven't removed the foam between the bridge and top of the GB10SE?

    • @dparknote
      @dparknote  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was not aware of the foam. Then SE must sound better without the foam, then it's more worth to buy a SE.

    Nice playing! I purchased the GB10N in January and received it in October. Worth the wait. Good video. I am not hearing a difference in tone. How about build quality of the SE? My GB10 is flawless. Beautifully made and I love the tone.

      SE build quality is very very good. Very smooth and well made at every point!. Congratulations on your new GB10N !!!

    Warum ist bei der SE noch der Schaumstoffstreifen unter dem Steg? So ist kein vernünftiger Vergleich möglich.

    Maybe Japanese one has more sustain? And a bit more top end in the neck position? Both sound great. Thx for making this video :) nice playing!

      Thank you!!! Indonesian one has better well balanced sound. But MIJ has richer harmonics and depth in sound at another level (but less well balanced than MII).

    What do you say? I am planning George signature guitar. But my money is limited. Is it worth to buy gb10se. If you were me, what would you buy it?

    • @dparknote
      @dparknote  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gb10SE is pretty much worth to buy especially when the budget is limited. SE has well balanced sound and Japan one has pure deep sound from superior(I guess) tone wood.

      But a used Made In Japan …. Save up for it …
      Invest wisely
      A used MADE IN JAPAN is still even way better than a Brand New ‘SE’

      @@clydebermingham121 not really I have them both it depends on the tone you're after and the strings in use plus a good amp setting if you're into jazz get the cheaper model LGB30 will easily meet your needs

      GB10SE costs about half as much as a made in Japan GB10.

    The GB10 has a more compressed tone. It has more bottom.

      In this video there is almost zero bass and treble. I can post another video by changing the software amp and EQ to be neutral.

    Really a useless comparison not taking the foam off the SE model
