Hello team LNN, What are your views on today’s show? You can reach Gloria Githinji on her email address migratetocanada25@gmail.com To share your story with us, Please send a summary to info@Lnn.digital for consideration Thank you so much for watching ❤
Am a Canadian citizen from meru Kenya. Canada is beautiful country full of opportunities for self driven hardworking people. Didn't use any lawyer back then come with a work permit. I now use professional lawyer to get lmia to hire employees abroad for my company. I thank God for planting me here and I love it here. Single mom of 3 and very comfortable
Lynn, thanks for the interview with Gloria as it made me nostalgic for my other homeland (Toronto, 🇨🇦). She's right on point. It is so much easier to migrate to Canada these days as universities hold fairs recruiting students in Jamaica and other countries. It is not a problem taking your children if they are Autistic, have mobility issues, speech impediments, etc. Canada welcome everyone as long as you are not a criminal. Those who are fleeing persecution including same sex couples are free to migrate there. No one cares what kind of work you do and residents don't "look down" on others regardless of their job functions. Biggest sacrifice: Forget the life you had in your home country with housegirls and maids (there is a minimum wage base and babysitter, maid is paid the same as someone working at McDonald's or in a store. You cannot pay your househelp less than minimum wage in each province). Just embrace your new environment as both male and female in households prepare meals, do laundry, clean up the house take care of children. You cannot sit back and expect a wife or husband to do everything - it is shared experiences to the max unless you are cash heavy and can afford paid help or for the female to stay home. It's perhaps easier for us to adjust as Caribbean peoples - Gloria has kept it real as most people have to start over from scratch. Canada is ideal for young families and you can further your education at any age even post retirement. As in other Developed Countries, you are considered middle aged in your 40s so you have to look at job trends for Canada on the Government of Canada website and see where the jobs are predicted for the future. For example, jobs are usually available in health services. It's more difficult to find jobs in Greater Toronto Area. The Canadian Government Immigration and Citizenship website at www.cic.gc.ca provides all information and advise persons what to do and not. How to detect fraudulent immigration consultants, etc. You can apply directly to colleges and universities online and no need to use a 3rd party. Alot of employment agencies offering services are fraudulent and Canada discourages payment for such services in 🇯🇲 and other countries. Employment for seasonal workers are done through our Ministry of Labour for past 50+ years through bilateral arrangements with both Governments. The immigration forms are easy to complete. For resident families with children under 18, there is child benefits that's paid monthly for each child until they get to 18 years (persons in specific income threshold and lower income, higher the child tax benefit) plus there is daycare subsidy if you want to send your children to daycare in preschool or after school years up to 12 or whatever is applicable in your province. As a CanDian citizen, you are allowed to have Canadian passport as well as your country's passport. As a Canadian citizen you are then able to travel to most countries all over the world without a visa. Winter is not entirely unbearable depending on where you live. You just have to buy proper winter clothes. British Columbia in winter is more like Georgia USA winter weather & isn't freezing cold like Manitoba. I lived for years in Toronto and didn't wear a proper winter boot or thick socks. Transportation arrives on time and you can always check when the next bus will arrive at the bus stop near your residence; when next train is due at the subway station, etc. If the male is a control freak and don't like for his wife or partner to work, go back to school, etc., beats/abuse children then Canada is not for you. Strangers, neighbours, etc. will report abuse or suspected abuse whether inflicted by wife or husband - anyone! Human rights are respected. If you call the police's number @ 911, they will visit or call back the number even if you hang up the phone without speaking. Women are able to work in any career of choice. Canada is home to thousands of new immigrants each year including war refugees. Unless there is a shortage of professionals in your specific job category in Canada, you may never find a similar position to the job (big position) you now have in your country of birth. If you are unsure, don't dispose of all of your real estate as you may want to stay until the children graduate from university and then return to your birth country 6 months of the year or do consultancy or voluntary work in your birth country. Just do your research for the province that best suits your financial position when furthering your education. Persons who cohabit (unmarried couples - same sex included) can accompany student or work permit holder to Canada same as married couples. One just have to demonstrate they have been living together for over 1 year, have joint bank account, utility bills or mortgage in their names, etc. Nobody cares who you are, where you are from, etc., but the biggest drawback is that professionals in some field such as medicine, dentistry, etc., have to start over by doing re-certification exams or going back to school. Official languages are French & English but translation services are offered in over 100 languages for example, when you call into a government department and listen to the message on their phone system. You can request forms etc just by pressing numbers on the phone pad or stating a response after a voice prompt. Canada from an immigrants perspective taught me many things - it's a place that teaches you humility, acceptance of others whether able bodied or not. It's a country where you can dare to be different and be yourself. Some families disintegrate especially for situations where parents are ultra controlling. Just know that your children are humans, they too have rights that must be respected. Your cultural practices are encouraged and welcomed but they cannot be those that are violating other people's right or not in keeping with Canadian laws. Canada is a big melting pot with people from all over the world living and working in peace and harmony. Lynn, I am sure you and your team will enjoy visiting Canada. Just be open minded knowing that should you take a taxi service at the airport, you may be driven by a medical doctor, engineer or scientist who migrated as an immigrant from his home country and he/she has not yet gotten the required certification to work in his/her field in Canada. They do whatever jobs are available, focus on raising their kids, etc., until they can go back to school to get the required upgrades. As Gloria stated, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE MIGRATING TO CANADA. Winter is normal so pointless going there and complaining. The young children actually adapt and go on to enjoy winter sports. Our parks are lush and beautiful in the spring, summer months. With Canadian citizenship, you are not forced to remain in Canada and can travel back and forth. Just remember if you choose to go back to school, please choose a career thar will take you into retirement or self employment. IT at 45 may not be your best choice unless you are being hired for that position from your home country. It may be easier to migrate to the colder provinces with smaller population than Ontario with its large cities (Scarborough, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, etc.). Lynn, please make sure you visit Toronto and I will travel there for the occasion if at all possible. I spend most of my time away from 🍁 these days. Continue shedding light in dark spaces. It's lovely that Gloria wants to share her journey and assist others without charging. Blessings always from Kingston, 🇯🇲.
The best thing that can happen to a woman is getting a man who supports your dreams and doesn't feel inferior because you are progressing in life even more than him. When I first got a scholarship to pursue my master degree in Europe I was newlywed and went without my hubby who was very supportive of me chasing my dreams. Finished my masters came back to Kenya worked a little bit then later on got another scholarship to pursue my PhD in Europe and once again my hubby was super supportive of me chasing my dreams but this time round had to relocate with our son and once we had fully settled my hubby could join us. Will be done with my PhD this year and my hubby will be joining us as well and he has never felt inferior whatsoever because of my academic achievements.
@s.w5194 You are blessed and he is blessed to have a loving wife like you who always speak great things about her loving and respectful honey from the rooftop. Your home must be a place of victory for every battle and a place flowing with Godly love and love for each other in the family. I am bathing in it in my home for God blessing me with a Godly wife who is always supportive and respectful and wonderful princes. I wouldn't have gotten a better wife. She is the best. Coming to Canada is the best decision I have taken for myself and family though I didn't plan it. I had come to U.S in 2020 on visitor visa to visit and I was told that immigrants were crossing over to Canada and that I could take advantage of the opportunity, I just left U.S for Canada the next day without even thinking about it. Unfortunately immediately covid happened and everything took its time which was kind of stressful but now finally I have been confirmed for permanent residency. God willing I should be able to travel home this year or next year to see my family. It has been so far the most humbling experience of my lifetime just this lady has explained. I was every established business person in Uganda with quite some accomplishments but I had to start from scratch here in Canada but it has been worth it now looking back especially for my daughter who will join me soon.
@c B No it cannot allow but there's a way people have been crossing over from U.S to Canada without a visa and then start the immigration process at the boda
@Mzuri Beauty If one can afford to do so like the lady Gloria has explained. Do your research start the process see what the future holds for you. Good thing the Canada immigration website has all the information anyone needs including the requirements for the different categories
Am so so excited to see Gloria. ..she s such alovely lady,so humble and warm......she s the one who did the interior of my house back when she was into interior decoration, glad to see her again and hearing her inspire.....I salute you Gloria
Thank you Lynn for the a big show. One thing l love about Gloria she is really down to earth. She is speaking very clear English, her pronunciation everyone can understand. She is not selfish with the information. SHALOM.
As a Kenyan Canadian citizen, I can confirm that coming over an international student is one of the most straight forward avenues to legally immigrate to Canada. But I feel that she has left out some very crucial information when she was asked about finances. She made it sound easy,it seemed money wasnt an issue to her, I wish she could have quoted a rough estimate of how much one is expected to atleast have in his/ her account in order to get a student visa approved especially if you are not on a scholarship. I'm not saying this to scare out anyone but its always good to have facts at hand so you know how much you need to raise. If you are financially okay then you are good to go.If not, just try your best to meet the threshold( amount required) coz once your visa application is approved then you can always come over and hustle( work part-time as you study) for the rest of your school fees. Also during your student visa application you need to clearly state your ties here in Kenya( what will bring you back to Kenya e.g. properties etc ) just to convince the visa officer that you wont come over and get stuck here. But that necessarily wont mean you will go back☺☺
I think her story has a lot of left out. I went to Canada in 2001 as an international student and I only paid $2500 to get the admission letter. Her story comes like it’s missing some crucial information. I like her coming forward but she’s not willing. Wakenya tuko hivyo. I lived in Alberta then to Toronto
I don’t understand why this channel has not got millions subscribers? Can I ask you all to copy and paste this channel to your all social medias and share with your friends? Please let’s make lyne grow she deserves it. Love love love from California
My take home ..write your own story..Have your own purpose and goal and keep it ..Thank you Lynn it's so inspiring listening to Gloria God bless you both
Using the legal way to travel or re-locate to abroad, is the best way to do it. You will never regret. When I tell pple that I came to Germany back in 1999 with no "connection", nobody believes, not even my family. But all in all, I will be soon celebrating my 25th yrs full of gratitute to God. #GodAboveAll #GodFirst #TheLegalWayIsTheBest
You are not the only one struggling with worry and anxiety. I encourage you, while you are going through your difficulty, pray for others who are also suffering. The less we focus our minds on ourselves and our situations, the better off we will be.
Thank you so much Lean ,I'm trusting God for my green card this year....I thank Gloria for her Faith because Im trusting God and deep in my soul I'm sure God is in control and another thing I thank for my husband who believes in my Faith.🙏🙏.
If u have no dependants and are retired.U dont need double shifts… care giving pays well. Many retirees r here building a nest egg for their old age… and still enjoy life … 3/4 days work is sufficient.
A cousin moved to the US at 48 years in 2018. Huku alikuaga mtu wa mjei sahizi amejenga huku na hadi rentals and is living and working well in New Jersey. Age doesn't matter, it's your own focus
Am a PR in Canada,it's a great country, thank you for taking lead to encourage our own. God got a way of making a way when we yield to his will concerning us. I strongly believe got got different path as he guide towards what he will for us.
I believe I have watched this for a reason, thank you so much Lynn & your guest. I am starting my research tonight and believe I will move before the year ends. Once again thank you.
That was a wonderful testimony of courage, determination and success. As a person who went through Canada I couldn't tell the story better, it wasn't my sweet spot but it's a good place. People intending to pursue same path should really listen to Gloria. Bless🙌
Lynn this was a very good information imagine I've heard ppl from dispora but gloria is total different. Most of them are very tired to answer to some of our questions to this information.
Listening to this am motivated , am that kind of person who has admired leaving this country for greener pastures for the sake of my mum, I wanna make her live a beautiful life without the struggles am seeing her go through,,lemmy take the step thanks for sharing.
Very Encouraging but as For Me, I really thank God I settled in the Netherlands and would never wish to live in any other country.I really Love How kid's are Number 1 in this country... raising happy kid's...I am so greatful to the Universe 🙏🙏
Thanks Mrs Glory and Lynn Ngugi ,for this episode ,I wanna shift from gulf countries to Canada 🇨🇦 I am into this course Alison (caregiving in diploma) and am a chef 👨🍳 .its my prayer that I will make it 🙏 🙌 blessings
My advice for you is to finish your course, work for a year. Make sure you have $10 000 Canadian and apply online at the Canadian immigration site. You could also check the provinces that have nomination programs and apply through them
Great to see Gloria, we go way back. She is one of the most genuine and sweetest person I have ever met. Your story is very inspiring and I’m sure you have encouraged a lot of people. Lynn thanks for bringing this beautiful young lady to share her inspiring story. I’m inspired, thank you 🙏🏾 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow Gloria has spoken so well and so positive about being in a foreign land. Like she said negativity does not help anybody. Being content is the key and count your blessings for being where you are no matter what. ❤❤
Watching from Uganda and wow, wow...thank you Gloria and lynn, this is very good information. Gloria i will be in your inbox soon from Uganda. Very interested.
So glad to have listened to Gloria and how her life has been transformed....I got encouraged to know that I can start right all over again and does not matter what has happened......When one chapter closes God helps you to open another one and one should navigate their dreams without fear......Humility and being Grateful is the key that lifts us up and great to hear Gloria stressing on that point...........Lynn am so grateful to God for your life and your channel.......its has transformed many many many people, you have no idea what a blessing you are to this generation and many more to come..........Thank you Lynn
Very motivating to hear such kind of stories! I love the fact that she was so determined way from the start! Amazing lady lots of blessings to her and her family, for helping all those families and giving this kind of info that very few would dare to give! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thank you so so much Gloria for honesty . At work all employees whether Managers. associates. housekeepers...whatever level you hold in any Organisations. they all eat from the same Break room. Laugh together. This is the culture shock I experienced too . Like in Banks. The Manager is the one welcoming customers. Then you realise how disgusting it is back in Kenya where the senior officers behave like small gods.
Wow, it's the parting shot for me...#you can always start again..🙏🙏 it's very encouraging to realize a woman can be the one taking her whole family abroad; not necessarily a man!!
I love this conversation you don't need validations and you can make it I know your guest I taught her daughter in logos school nice to see her giving us good advice mama sifa
Wow Gloria you are amazing. Looking forward to sharing alot with you. Giving back to the community is really a blessing. Thank Lynn for being our there for us.
May God bless you Lyn.This video is very timely .I had never thought of going abroad but at 31 I'm very ready and humbly willing to start from scratch abroad.Im not sure which country I'll end up in but I know I'm flying out by the end of this year to provide for my daughter and family and break those generational curses.
Lynn,,, this is amazing one of amazing videos you have,,, this lady is so humble my God,,, no wonder she is going from one glory to another,, Canada we are coming ohh
Wow Lynn! Thank you for bringing us this gem of a lady! 🤩 Thank you Gloria for what you’re doing - and for free! God bless and increase you for your generosity.
May Almighty God continue overing you with his blessings Gloria, you inspire many and give hope to those feel like they can't make it because no one is genuine to guide them,no contaction, but nani Kama mungu, Lynn you're like angel to many, more grace and blessings 🙏 together with your time
Waoh I haved loved to listen to her I have studied a Diploma in Foodscience and I will start the research too and hope in the near future to have a testimony like hers..
Am I the only one who hated my life abroad? Everyone thought am mad to come back to Kenya. I live in Kitisuru. Cannot compare to anything I had hook majuu. People say you have better quality of life in Kenya if you can afford it or have money. I love my life here 100%
No..I feel the same..and I don't even live in a high-end residence. I think it depends on a lot of factors though. Mine were I just didn't feel 'at home'. Plus I missed family. The loneliness got to me and those never-ending work shifts can take a toll too.
Gloria you are a great beautiful soul. I love the whole conversation especially telling others that “ No dollar has a job name tag on it “ All the best to you and your family
This really what I needed to hear Moving with the family Thanks Lynn for asking the questions I needed to know I was so desperate n fearing to start the journey but now am up to the game to start
I am so encouraged!Thank you so much Lynn and Gloria. Am at that point..battling the situations of life with my kids and am inspired. I definitely have come to a turning point.😊
Wish this was aired day before yesterday...I lost my money yesterday to one company now am trying to reach them and they are not picking my calls.thanks anyway Lyn for opening my eyes
I loved her story, I can relate to it and it’s a big encouragement for us the mature audience. I love how she has been able to reinvent herself and living purpose. 💕
I fell down and laughed when she said she was so excited she feared to roam around town just in case an accident occurred🤣🤣🤣🤣. I hid my passport in places you wouldn't imagine because I was renting, and my landlady was so disrespectful that she would enter my room without my permission. She had spare keys. I've met lots of Kenyans in Canada at some point. I thought there was an office in Kenya that brings them to Canada because there are so many Kenyans.
Haha, I locked my PP with a padlock in a small suitcase and still put the suitcase in a big suitcase and still locked the big one😅😅, and to add I hid it in a closet and locked it and locked my room always😂. My husband was telling me not to go to town, tunaogopa village witches wrath 😅😅😅 I can relate
How I wish she could have given a hint of "How Much"one should have to start the whole process.I would wish to travel with my fam.I love the discussion ❤️❤️❤️
Well done Gloria. Your positive attitude is infectious. I love what you say about avoiding complainers. I know many people in diaspora who keep comparing the countries they are in With Kenya and make it sound like like are completely miserable in those countries. I always say if it’s so bad, why are you there? Thanks for an awesome show
Thank you Joan. Its all about our attitude. Western World has so so many opportunities especially for anyone willing to work. Again. it only takes yourself to improve your life. You don't need godfathers.
Can I just add two VERY important points that Gloria forgot to add. INTEGRITY IS KEY ! When in these countries, don’t think things work like in Kenya. Corruption, fraud, theft are VERY serious crimes. Don’t go conning people or stealing from employers or such crimes. Also do NOT abuse your wife. None of these behaviours are tolerated in Western countries. Your visa will be cancelled, you go to prison and get deported. Even if you have a passport it will get cancelled.
Thanks, Gloria, for sharing your story. I know you have and will inspire many more by reminding us of humility and being content. May God's blessings and favor be upon you and your family.

I was every established business person in Uganda with quite some accomplishments but I had to start from scratch here in Canada but it has been worth it now looking back especially for my daughter who will join me soon.
All the best as you continue with your endeavours. I have a question, do you mean a us visitor visa can allow entry into canada?
@c B
No it cannot allow but there's a way people have been crossing over from U.S to Canada without a visa and then start the immigration process at the boda
Many are afraid to walk that initial journey but those of out here know it is part of the process
The best way is to get permanent visa to Canada from Nairobi
@Mzuri Beauty
If one can afford to do so like the lady Gloria has explained.
Very true .
But that necessarily wont mean you will go back☺☺
Thaanks for the info. Is it possible to get scholarships and maybe which colleges there?
Hi which are some of college which offer scholarship in Canada please
So how much would one require for a mom with 2 kids, food, transport and accommodation
Thanks for your time
I think her story has a lot of left out. I went to Canada in 2001 as an international student and I only paid $2500 to get the admission letter. Her story comes like it’s missing some crucial information. I like her coming forward but she’s not willing. Wakenya tuko hivyo. I lived in Alberta then to Toronto
Very positive vibes here. This lady is so humble no wonder she is blessed. Positivity is the way to go. Thanks Lynn for this episode.

Using the legal way to travel or re-locate to abroad, is the best way to do it. You will never regret. When I tell pple that I came to Germany back in 1999 with no "connection", nobody believes, not even my family. But all in all, I will be soon celebrating my 25th yrs full of gratitute to God.

Get better Emily. I am in Zim and down with this flu, it doesnt go away easily.
The best time to migrate abroad is between 20 _45 years old. The older you are you won't have the energy to work doubles and night shifts.
45 very old. Between 20 to 30
Age is just a number, you can be45 and very ative
If u have no dependants and are retired.U dont need double shifts… care giving pays well. Many retirees r here building a nest egg for their old age… and still enjoy life … 3/4 days work is sufficient.

The show I can't miss,am a ugandan but wish to immigrate to Canada since last year nov

Awesome information. But I must admit, she has lovely eyes. I am straight, a mother and a wife. Just appreciating God's creation.

Wow, it's the parting shot for me...#you can always start again..🙏🙏 it's very encouraging to realize a woman can be the one taking her whole family abroad; not necessarily a man!!
This is such a positive interview. I live in the US and this is a breathe of fresh air to hear both the challenges and wins of living in the diaspora.
This is my best episode ever. God help me to have a great attitude, and be humble. Thanks Gloria.
I love this conversation you don't need validations and you can make it I know your guest I taught her daughter in logos school nice to see her giving us good advice mama sifa

Am I the only one who hated my life abroad? Everyone thought am mad to come back to Kenya. I live in Kitisuru. Cannot compare to anything I had hook majuu. People say you have better quality of life in Kenya if you can afford it or have money. I love my life here 100%
Depends with the majuu I would be happier in the USA or Europe ,am a wreck in gulf I hate it but I choose to come here to rebuild my life
No..I feel the same..and I don't even live in a high-end residence. I think it depends on a lot of factors though. Mine were I just didn't feel 'at home'. Plus I missed family. The loneliness got to me and those never-ending work shifts can take a toll too.

This woman is speaking the truth! You need to do the work, people get conned when they want shortcuts.

Thanks Lynn for asking the questions I needed to know

@Eunice waihumbu,I have done ECA and IELTS. Kindly guide through
I am so encouraged!Thank you so much Lynn and Gloria. Am at that point..battling the situations of life with my kids and am inspired. I definitely have come to a turning point.😊

Why are you speaking my mind🤔🤣🤣
I loved her story, I can relate to it and it’s a big encouragement for us the mature audience. I love how she has been able to reinvent herself and living purpose. 💕
Would have wished to know how much they had in their accounts to cater for the whole process of immigration.
Yes, she left out this very crucial bit of information. She's makes sound very easy but its usually a catch for many applicants.
Lynn I love you sooo much you have been a blessing to many .
Wow. So great to see someone share information without wanting anything in return. God bless you and Lynn you are glowing girl 💖
This is such a wonderful conversation. Am inspired to explore opportunities abroad. Thank you Lyn and the guest
This is a great testimony, shows that if we believe and focus on our dreams. God will give us the desires of our hearts.
Good morning team Lynn
Thanks Lynn for this episodes they inspires us a lot...receive your flowers mama we love and adore you💖💖💖💖
Gloria, Canadian education is very expensive you must have had good funds to relocate that's the challenge for most Kenyans.
Moving to Canada has been my all time dream,i even visited the embassy but wapi though am still on it till it bears fruits God hear my prayers Amen
Which province do you live?
Hahahahaha.....hahaha
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 this happened to me too...my passport my life
P
Haha, I locked my PP with a padlock in a small suitcase and still put the suitcase in a big suitcase and still locked the big one😅😅, and to add I hid it in a closet and locked it and locked my room always😂. My husband was telling me not to go to town, tunaogopa village witches wrath 😅😅😅 I can relate
God keep enlarging your territories Gloria. Thanks for being so genuine and helpful. Those who help others God will forever reward them.

I love this story. Enlighten us more Gloria n thanks Lynn for hosting her.
Well done Gloria. Your positive attitude is infectious. I love what you say about avoiding complainers. I know many people in diaspora who keep comparing the countries they are in
With Kenya and make it sound like like are completely miserable in those countries. I always say if it’s so bad, why are you there? Thanks for an awesome show
And Lynn, that color is beautiful and really suits you. You look💥🔥
Thank you Joan.
Its all about our attitude.
Western World has so so many opportunities especially for anyone willing to work.
Again. it only takes yourself to improve your life.
You don't need godfathers.

Thank you Gloria for your information you are not selfish at all,Thanks for giving us hope in life we can manuve if we trust in God
The taxes we pay here in Canada is the reason why kindergarten to high school and medical is free but not really free because of the taxes we pay.
