This song is one of the powerful songs ever recorded. A Scottish Band from Glasgow, ( Simple Minds),, would be the next best outside of an Irish band to sing about the ""troubles". in Northern Ireland. I am Scots on Dads side and Irish Catholic on Mum's . The joint and mixed history has brought with it a mixture of bitterness , but also wonderful music and shared love of very common cultures. @@albertoostinelli8946 Yes. I think that may have a great deal to do with it!
Cause they ain’t that good
Fantastic R.I.P Sinead 🕊😢
Greetings from Romania to everyone!
the most beautiful piece, dear to my heart....thanks to Charlie for his guitar solo
One of greatest songs of all time 👍
Irish melodies❤❤, greetings from Croatia
what a great song with an outstanding Sinèad O'Connor. the song of my youth reminds me of my roots from which I descended. I love Simple Minds and Sinèad O'Connor and everyone on the Emerald Isle.
Yes, the emerald isle.... Gary Moore got born there too. You can hear that on "wild frontier"
That track from an inder- rated album btw, always lent itself
to have SINEAD and / or BONO guest vocal, and she
sounds fantastic; A voice that's echoing in the wind
here across the Atlantic as I type
and say, this is CS from the US;
Hail Simple Minds, and
RIP Stunning SINEAD,
Queen of the Emerald Isle
I was driving home when I first heard this and stayed on my driveway for most of it.just blew me away...still does
God if we could only bring back the famous amazing wonderful music of the 70 + the 80 Music because there is no music nowadays only my Rod Stewart ❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻⭐️⭐️🍀
We saw them recently. What a joy to see true genius live.
I am from Greece but when I hear that song and that feeling for freedom for the Irish brothers tears coming in my eyes every time I hear it.
Freedom? Shut up you fool, the whole island is free!!! What lies.
What shit are you talking. Northern Ireland forever 🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@hughmcwilliams1509 it won't be forever though. Republican voting demographic is far young. A republican party is head of the government for the first time ever and Catholics are a majority for the first time in last census. It wouldn't have a leg to stand on in a generation or two.
@@barra6709 yes but the majority of Catholics won't vote for a united because their to well off within the UK.
If it did become a United ireland a few things to list here.
Trouble would start again
Divisions would become hostile creating more hatred.
We would have to pay to see the doctor.
Pay for the dentist.
Pay to have children
Credit for families who don't work would drop drastically.
Higher taxes.
Now if I was a Catholic I would vote to stay in the UK because we would be better off both protestant and Catholics.
But then I'm a realist not a fantasist.

This is not a song. This is my church. From the son of a Lebanese solider who lost family due to the 25yr civil war, l pray The Troubles, never return to NI. God bless those fallen souls.
Si Dieu existait il aurait épargné ce beau pays et ces gens si chaleureux.
Youre not alone. Please dont believe the media. We, the people, will always fight together x

You might want to rephrase that
The best music, what is the ratio of everything, everything is chosen perfectly! ❤
