    I Love that they provide context to the topic.
    This was always so frustrating to me in my youth, not knowing the origin or motivation behind what we are learning, making it lack true value to myself and others.
    With context, it also broadens my mind to the thought pattern of the topic and allows me to consider what other topics might relate and be of benefit or of interest so I can "connect the dots" so to speak.

      Exactly. I love their approach and what they stand for! Science in a curious and visual way that requires interacting with the material to actually get past the superficial layers of understanding!

    I attended a STEM School grades K-8 prior too secondary school + university. I never considered myself as good at science as mathematics until working in finance and realizing that curiosity and intelligence are fluid amongst topics in life and after developing a passion and significant knowledge in data science, quantitative analysis and pharmaceuticals I promise anyone reading this can become an expert on any STEM field if they develop a passion and respect for the information !

    Nice video! Ultimately, when people search for a review, they are interested in personal experiences, a perspective from a person just like them. I am not a student anymore (I am old and, well, not going to school/university) but I was really curious to know how a student would feel about Brilliant. Hey, good luck in your studies!

Me recordaba a mi tierra, pues soy gallego.
Ojiplático me quedé, jaja.

      @@MarioFabelo oh, fenomenal.

      @@tunglamnguyen8728 Okay. Then I think it could definitely be worthwhile to you. Brilliant is mainly made for Mathematics but it also has some decent physics that are part of the syllabus of A Level.
      As I told you before, the Practice section might be the most time-effective for you. It has lots of "quizzes" with loads of questions that are very similar to those in A Level. Most of your A Level Maths topics will be present (letting you go a bit further to improve even more). For Physics it's more of the same: you've got all Mechanics, Magnetism & Electricity covered.
      I'm not sure about how it might help you in Computer Science as I'm not aware of the syllabus.
      Check whether you are able to access the Practice section for free or if you need the subscription. In case you do need it, I think it will be totally worth it!

      The math ones are really promising though. Differential Equations seems like a very useful one. Same with the ones on Calculus. Complex numbers has an overview of algebra that leads to complex and it sticks quite well with the syllabus of Maths and has some Further Maths bits like Polar Coordinates.
      Basically, any stuff you want to revise/learn you have a specific section within a course about it. And you can complement it with the Practice section to get into it more deeply!

And I would like to know if possible what you would consider the level of knowledge that they provide, for example, do they reach to complex theoritical concepts or it provides mostly about the basic formulas and principles? Also, do they have courses about Quantum Physics and Chemistry?

    • @MarioFabelo

      I do! So basically this semester I have Vector Calculus. It’s a pretty tough subject but I saw that they had a course of Vector Calculus on Brilliant with quite a lot of classes.
      So to this day I have done the first classes on that course because I had trouble understanding parametrisations and the intuition behind the curl and the divergence.
      I’ve been quite disastrous with time and now I’m cramming for the exam in one week and a half. So right now I’m not focusing on Brilliant and I’m using Khan Academy instead as they are videos (easier for me to consume) and they are more oriented towards exam questions.
      However, I think that Brilliant is truly great and for me it is a really powerful tool to use throughout the term to understand the content really before focusing on exam practice.
      I don’t think they yet have a course on Quantum Physics but they’ll probably have one soon as they are adding lots of courses these days.
      Brilliant is by no means basic. It is actually quite difficult as it truly makes you think about the problem solving behind a concept. Not just use the formula. Most classes are about an example fictional situation that they use to end up deriving the theorem.
      If you can afford Brilliant, then I think that it is a solid product. Not as much for exam technique and practice but more about having a greater understanding and flexibility of problem solving.
      Hope that helps : )

    Hello ! Thats super interesting but you mainly speak from a STEM student PoV (which makes sense).
    On the other hand, im a man working daily and Khan is not only time consuming but also lacks providing me problems.
    I want to learn maths to learn physics in détail and i feel like Brilliant is helping me doing that (currently finishing foundational maths course list).
    My question to the STEM student you are would be : Do you think Brilliant could honestly make a standalone ressource for someone like me who will be willing to go deeper into physics but just wants to build a maths foundations to tackle real physics ?
    Its really hard as a non-STEM student to find some honest opinions on Brilliant since each short and or reddit thread seems like it attracts a LOT of hate from this community.
    Thanks a lot for your content and a great day i hope :)

    • @MarioFabelo

      Khan academy is great but they are more like TH-cam videos (they actually are) than actual foundational education.
      I feel like Brilliant is quite concise and unlike any other platform. They don’t just “do the problems”, they explain you the context, the reasoning and make you question yourself whether it actually makes sense to you and then they give you some problems and offer really good explanations and a very cool interface!
      I think there’s no such stand-alone thing for learning in STEM. Having said that I think that a good combination of books and Brilliant can offer a more diverse view and perspective and, hence, help at learning.
      For example, you could get the Theoretical Minimum Books by Leonard Susskind. These are very small books on specific topics of physics that go along with the TH-cam lectures and they were aimed at mature students or people that wanted to learn physics as a side hobby! And doing the relevant content on Brilliant will always help along!
      Maybe it is better to start just with Brilliant and then once there’s some intuition and basic knowledge you can read books like those from Leonard Susskind or the Feynman Lectures (also on TH-cam).
      I personally find text-books overwhelming and a bit boring sometimes.
      I suppose some people hate Brilliant because it’s expensive and not the most accessible. However, I think it offers so much that the price is quite justified. I would prefer it to be expensive and offer a lot than to be cheap and not offer much value.
      Thank you for watching and do let me know any other questions!!

    • @heta04

      @@MarioFabelo I totally agree and thanks a lot for this detailed and meaningful answer !
      For the Susskind and Feynman lectures, since I guess you know Brilliant quite well, what would be the point I could dive in those ? Like do i need to clear all the maths content up to differential equations or is there a threshold earlier where i can dive in ? Im currently doing the foundational part and i cleared solving equation/graphs/measurements courses, im currently studying vectors still on Brilliant.
      And moreover, while studying Feynman or Susskind, I guess I will need to keep working on my maths skills and that Brilliant will end being not enough for maths too ?
      Again, thanks

    • @MarioFabelo

      @@heta04 Brilliant has courses of different levels which follow an order of difficulty. include different topics inside. They have recently introduced the so-called "Learning Paths". There is one for Foundational Math which will definitely help as physics is ultimately using math for solving a problem observed in nature!
      You don’t even need differential equations to start with the Feynman or Susskind lectures. They're both meant for people in their first year of college/university. The maximum you need to know is basic integration and the rest should all be built almost from scratch.
      I just saw they released a course on Vectors! That's really cool! Vectors are generally simple but for some reason, they are sometimes confusing.
      You can access all the Feynman lectures for free on the official website and I think they have problems as you go!
      I would use Brilliant as a side tool for those moments where you get to a topic that you don’t really understand and you want another perspective to hopefully understand a bit more. If what you ask is whether Brilliant teaches advanced maths, I think it goes pretty far, probably almost to the level of a whole undergraduate degree in Physics. You can find a lot of linear algebra, Fourier analysis and differential equations.

Netflix profits from the industry as a whole. Movie productions, series productions, Netflix is just the platform for people who seek to consume these contents. If they don't pay Netflix they pay some other platform. Here you are talking about education. Stuff that brings you further on your studying, in your business. How many interactive learning based platforms are there to compare? How is their pricing? I for example value education higher than entertainment. And if a platform accomplishes to combine learning with fun, that's something many people would pay even 50 Dollars or 100 Dollars per month. I understand that YOU measure it to be expensive, but a review about a product should try to use objective parameters to judge something rather than just concluding on personal preference.

    PS: Hence the video is well crafted; zooming while complimenting how good it is not good enough for me.
