    I had a similar design to feed zombie spores to the Biobot Builder, but then I realized that there are way too many spores in each CO2 packet, as the machine can only process 10k spores/s. So I added a loop after the biobot output with a germ sensor where CO2 packets with >10k are looped back into the Biobot Builder input, and if below 10k they go back into the sporechid room. Makes the pumps run quite less often, so it saves quite a bit of energy.

    The pacu changes feel more like a favor to players without OP computers. I know every now and then I would cull the single tile drop off because just trying to scroll past it would tank my fps. Not to mention the need for them as lime farms has diminished due to the introduction of the fossil nodes. Still the change to the algae consumption is welcome because that was frankly an obscene amount for a single fish

    • @GCFungus
      @GCFungus  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm not sure about the computer performance side, since now you can't restrict as many pacu to the same tile the performance would be worse for a comparable amount of fish.

    I'm so happy they added the storage tiles; it was a huge upgrade to my usual "No Sweeping" storage system. Now I can put all the little misc. stuff in storage tiles instead of having a dump bin for all the seeds, reed fiber, refined carbon, lime, etc.
    I also really appreciate that Pacu are now way more viable as Omelette/Mushroom Quiche producers than Cooked Seafood/Surf N' Turf producers. It's a lot better for game performance, and certainly feels less mean than the previous META.

    One issue I found with the dehydrator is that when it's disabled by automation, dupes will continue loading fresh food into it. But for space missions this is the best way to feed pilots! I got rid of containers and fridges in my rockets and just have a rehydrator and one storage tile. The biobot builder kinda sucks. You can't load him onto a rocket or teleport him, so he only works in your main base. He needs a lot of steel too, so by the time you can make them you don't need them anymore.

Its a shame they can only hold 1000kg and they blook autosweepers reach, but i still find them useful nontheless. i hope that in the feuture they will add a storage bin that doesnt have to be placed on floor

      I'll have a think about it, but I'm not sure there's a whole lot to make a video from. The absolute key thing is reducing pathing, both of dupes and critters. That means having fewer of both is better, as is reducing the amount of pathing for places they can get to. Beyond that, reducing gas movement and sweeping solids into the same tile have always been mentioned as ways to reduce lag but I'm not convinced these make a huge difference.

    There's one important change that the new ranching system brings and it concerns plug slugs. However, you can now keep them unhappy (not groomed) and so they eat drastically less metal while still outputting tamed amounts of energy.

    I see the dehydrater freeze food and rehydarater microwave food lol. And I have use both of these buildings in spaced out home planetoid and it's not bad. It can sort of be an alternative to deep freeze food ofc only for gas range lol.
    I'll say the hydrates are good for certain food imo, food like pepper bread are good cause it uses cooking ingredients and ingredients can deep freeze by just being 0 or -1 C much easier to do rather then push for -18+ C for others.

    I'm not a fan of the buildings not having pipe exit connections. Just dropping the water is actually annoying, and not being able to direct the CO2 is just tedious. Am I alone thinking this? I feel the same about any building that isn't explicitly early game, and most of the mid game buildings. I'd rather build outputs then just having to deal with the byproducts in the enviroment

    • @MrQuantumInc
      @MrQuantumInc 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is definitely meant to make the building more challenging to set up. It means you have to have a couple of tiles of space under the floor. It limits where you can place them and also takes up more space. You can have one pump for multiple buildings, but that means either having them in a column, or wet floors. The CO2 from duplicant breathing means having a general CO2 removal, and then give it significant capacity to deal with the various buildings.

    I wish kley would at some point try to fix the exploit and find a new alternative to do things. They managed to do a little with critters to make itba bit more plausible, but it still needs a bit more adjustments. Example is the no germ water that to do this is not by using a building, but a series of buildings and a room full of chlorine.

    • @andrehashimoto8056
      @andrehashimoto8056 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Tbh, usually, the methods to clear germs out of water, given current Game mechanics and materials.
      The non-exploity ways are a bit cost heavy in management.
      Heat Water to kill germs? Energy and space for a water tank will be needed more than just a basic Chlorine Gas chamber for the water resevoirs.
      Chill to do the same? Space and EVEN MORE ENERGY since that will probably require a TA to provide the heat sapping, and depending on what you will set that TA to make use of the heat, plenty of not so plentiful materials, such as Steel.
      Radiation? Energy, and making damn sure it's in a contained area, using even more space.
      When the most cost effective way to deal with Germ infested water is to just make use of the spaghetti in the code to create a simplistic Chlorine chamber, the problem is not exactly going to be feasible, AT ALL, to solve.
      And again, all this is UP TO THE PLAYER. If you like doing shit the harder, more up to realistic ways, your choice, but cutting off a very Optional exploit just because you don't like it is stupid.
