Excellent footage Dave,I don’t get out to toy fairs much so it’s really nice to see ..thank you very much and I’m glad you had a nice time catching up with friends 👍😃
Thanks for having us on this toyhunt. High prices galore. No haul in the end but still so much fun seeing these cool toys and above all meeting with some friends from the community.
Thanks Chris! 🤘 First time filming at a toy fair, enjoyed it so may do some more in the future 👍 Am finding I talk more than hunt at fairs these days 🤣
Thanks for sharing your visit with all of us who live outside the UK and unable to attend these amazing British toy fairs. Great video and a brilliant channel subbed and liked ! Many thanks
You think with times like they are now Dave. People are cashing in on their Star Wars toys ? Could we finally see a drop in price ? Is it time to sell now ( generally speaking ) if your collection is an investment ?
Good question! Hard to tell from just one toy fair, but there are certainly some who are off-loading their star wars. Having said that, I've been to a few fairs recently and none of them had nowhere near the star wars on sale.
Cool you got the early bird pass to avoid the crowds. Then I see it's crowded right away and you say "So much for the earlybird..." Ha, that was funny! 😁Great video toy hunt, Dave! Thanks!
Ha! I always go for the early bird at these fairs, and to be fair (no pun intended) I have noticed across all locations it has become busier, but nothing quite like this 🤣 Glad you enjoyed the hunt, I may well do more of these videos in the future 👍
This video was very well produced. I have done similar videos when you have b-roll and have to add commentary over the top, you did so well and the toys (especially the high end Star Wars) were fantastic! Great video Dave!
Cheers Mike!! 🤘 I did wonder if I had enough footage of the fair, so added the commentary. It seems to have worked 👍 Definitely a stack of Vintage Star Wars this time. Thanks once again for the shoutout 😎
Now, it's not a line I'm too familiar with, but that stall is one of my favourite dealers and they always have great stuff to look at! Although, I am familiar with Moby Lick cause it's such a funny action🤘
Great video Dave, awesome to see what the show was like, I hear all the guys talk about Sandown! 👌 Shame you didn't find anything but it's all about the meet ups! 👊
Excellent video Dave. That's a mind-blowing amount of vintage goodness. I've never seen those Palitoy catalogues before. I'm drooling over all that vintage star wars. Great that you met up with people, pick something up next time 💥💥💥💥💥
Cheers Tez! 🤘 I would loved to have picked up one of those catalogs! Never seen so much vintage star wars at one fair but prices these days!! Say no more!! Fingers crossed for the next fair 👍
Haha nuts, we were slow close to bumping into one another 🤣 Great video mate and def caught all reg awesomeness of the day. Gutted but also glad I didn’t see that Apollo Creed figure as that would have been more money I would have spent 😅
You should have seen my face when I spotted you during the edit!! 🤣 We were so close yet so far! Yep, that Apollo Creed was a nice card 👍 Next time, we'll be more organised 😎
Looked like a very cool vintage toy show! This reminds me that I need to get out more! I'm starting to feel better so hopefully we can work together soon. :)
Great video. I wish we had toy fairs like this here in the US. I watch Toy Polloi and see David rummaging through bins that I would die to look through. Cheers from across the pond.
Thanks! 🤘 Now the thing is I watch US toy fair videos and wish we had the same in the UK 🤣 I love Toy Polloi's rummage videos too as he's in a different part of the UK to me and attends different fairs 👍 Cheers, Dave
Hey! Looks like you had a great day out! If I ever come back to the UK for a visit, Id love to go to Sandown. Tons of great vintage toy goodness there Dave but what caught my eye was that Subbuteo set! I loved that as a kid Thanks for sharing your day with us my friend.
Great day Shabby, if you do visit the UK we'll definitely be taking you to Sandown, have a few beers down the pub, and cook a Sunday roast 🤘 I've seen quite a lot of Subbuteo recently at the fairs, there was one stall with boxes of the teams!! 👍
Get your bloody hand in your pocket!!!! You didn’t buy anything at Echo either! 😂 But what does the man who has everything spend his money on 😂🤷♂️ Seriously dude a thoroughly entertaining video, and really enjoyed the commentary and cut aways, worked really well, these kinda fairs appeal much more to me these days than places like echo, a plethora of vintage goodies, thanks for taking us along mate 👍
Ha ha!! I was going to buy that shrink wrap R2 but was just a little short on cash at the time, by about £8400 🤣 I love these toy fairs, been attending them for years. You never know what you'll find. Think I've said before, 5/6 years ago it was much easier to find 80s stuff at more reasonable prices - I would be coming home with stacks of stuff 👍 Glad you liked the format, I've seen a few others do similar, so tried to create this video as quickly as possible - and it seems people like a toy hunt!!! Who knew! 😎
Really enjoyed your video, Dave! Some mouth watering stuff there! Would love to make it down there one day! We rarely get toy fairs like this North of the border and never in my neck for the woods!
Cheers Biker! 🤘 Yeah, it was a good show this time, some cracking items for sale. I'd love to visit some of the northern toy fairs just to see some different dealers 👍
Great video Dave, there certainly were some very nice pieces caught on camera. Spoiled for choice but sometimes it's best not to pick something up just for the sake of it, particularly if it's out of your budget. Cheers!
Great video Dave! Some of the prices on those carded SW figs made my hair stand on end lol. Glad you had a good day, shame you didn't find anything suitable to take home with you though. Thanks for sharing the video, would be great to see the next fair you go to as well! It's the Norwich Toy Fair in a couple of weeks, so I will be going hunting there. Cheers dude!
Thanks Dave!! I do like visiting the toy fairs, you never know what you'll find, and sometimes it's nothing 🤣 This video has done well so I may film again when visiting the larger fairs. Good luck at Norwich! Would love to visit some fairs further afield from me 👍
Here I am watching toy hunt videos and you go and make one, I approve. Just fun to look at stuff sometimes, and nice you saw some friends. :D 9:42 I just got a D-F Tom Baker mostly dressed, no scarf and a cowboy hat lol. Want to get that K-9 but I think anything else is simply out of range for my budget. ;)
Hey Logan! 🤘 Glad you enjoyed this toy hunt, it's the first time I've recorded one at a fair! That K9 was awesome - the guy allowed me to hold and take a close look. It wasn't cheap though, but it was great to see a complete Tom Baker (even with the screwdriver) and the Giant Robot too 👍
@@VintageToyRush Appreciate the effort, not easy to look & film. ;) Sweet, nice to get a look at K9 at least even if you can't buy. I hope see stuff like that at my first toy convention next month. :D Lol yeah the screwdriver is probably #1 for lost bits next to his Hat, Scarf, and Shoes. :P
Ha ha no problem!!! It takes me ages to get these damn things out anyway 🤘Good to see you as always, and thanks for pointing me in the direction of Toy Crusader 👍
Hello from the other side of the world 🤘 Shame you don't have the same scale of fairs. Do you follow the 'Keep on Collecting' guys? They're based in Australia and have a great channel who are connected to a number of other Aussie collectors 👍
I now have to be very picky what I pick up as I don't have a room just for the collectables and what space I do have is at a premium so this year I made a promise to myself instead of 3+ items at each collectors fair it's going to be 1 very nice piece
Fully appreciate that! We all run out of space at some point. I like your approach of focusing on fewer nicer pieces. That may well be why I didn't pick up anything from this show - out of space and being picky 👍
Great video. Seeing the Alien repro box behind you has prompted me to ask if you know of anyone who can repair the 1979 Kenner Alien? Any pointers be appreciated.
Where are you based? I’ve had mine apart to fix the back fins, the connectors inside degrade over time. If the mouth piece isn’t working that may be much more difficult as it doesn’t come apart there.
@@VintageToyRush I have bases in Reading and Cheltenham. I have the original arms that need reattaching and I have a repro lower jaw just to complete it. If you know anyone who can help, I'd be happy to pay them for the repair, etc. Thanks
I do restorations, you will see several videos on this channel restoring all sorts. Coincidentally I'm not very far from you, so am happy to take a look for you - no payments required, I just do it for fun, and maybe make a video out of it. Send an email, you'll find the address on my channel about page and lets see what we can do 👍
And another thing! I love star was but the prices are getting just stupid so I very rarely pick up any figures or vehicles but if there are any bust's at a decent price I'm all over them
Ha!! It does seem like that. I can say I've not sold anything from my collection. So can class myself as a dealer, although at some point, space may need to be reclaimed 😎
This looked like a great fair. Some amazing stuff there!
Dave, Lovely to meet you and thank you for mentioning me @Cheltenhamvintagetoys
And great to meet you too! Thanks for watching and I hope you get some new followers 👍 Will you be at NEC?
Yes I’ll be there at the NEC 😊
Great
Thanks Pepe!! 🤘
Just awesome mate

Lovely job Dave, cheers👍👊
Cheers 🤘
Loved your curated look at Sandown! Some real gems there for sure. Thanks Dave!
Cheers Pete! 🤘 Glad you enjoyed the trip around the fair, and for sure, some amazing gems 👍
Hi Dave, great video 👏 very cool place has a lot of awesome stuff 😎 Especially anything Doctor Who 💙 😁
Thanks!! 🤘 That Denys Fisher K9 was incredible - the guy let me have a close look but it was so fragile - shame they're so expensive these days 👍

Awesome video. Some cracking pieces on show.
Would love to see more.
Thanks!! 🤘 This video has done surprisingly well, so expect more in the future 👍
Great video Dave. Empty handed is understandable with some of those prices. I must say, your picture quality was really mint here too!
Thanks!! It's possible I'm becoming more picky 🤣 but it does happen sometimes, although fair prices do seem higher these days. Just using an iPhone 👍
Thanks for sharing your visit with all of us who live outside the UK and unable to attend these amazing British toy fairs. Great video and a brilliant channel subbed and liked ! Many thanks

When in February is the toy fairs in Sandown.?
They're run by BP fairs and they release a schedule at the beginning of each year at www.bpfairs.com/sandown-park - hope that helps 👍
How often do you find Boglins ?
I see one or two at most toy fairs here in the UK! But their condition varies wildly, the originals don't like the passing the time 👍

He's a fellow collector who also buys and sells this stuff. Search for Darby Collector on instagram 👍
