You used DREAMS by Van Halen. Didn't the Blue Angels use that back in the 80s? I used it in an RC video. Nice touch. I have the MXL single place. I'm gonna try that camera angle. Nice.
Thank you. This was several years ago. This was my third ultralight. I had just rebuilt it. I stayed low because my ailerons needed adjusted and it was a little squirrely.
Congrats on joining back the UL gang. I could not help noticing the black foam pipe insulator you installed on both the left tail booms to keep the elevator pushrod from rubbing. Looks like abnormal assembly there to me but I might be wrong.
After many flights they will rub together till they have to be replaced. This has always helped me save them..no issues in 26 years. It's actually rubber heater hose.
@@wingandaprayeradventures6758 foam weighs less but the hose is tougher...I have done the same thing with hydraulic lines on my two loaders............
Considering buying a Aerolite 103 kit wanted to get PPL but so expensive now and the FAA Medical is crazy. I know I can do light sport but seems like lot of money still might as well do PPL if going to that much expense. I just need to get some training ultralight training facility with in an hour drive. I know few guys who didn't do any training they only had lot of RC Airplane experience they been flying for number of years in ultralights. I like the freedom, and slow speeds can fly low and see stuff almost like a low cost helicopter.
I was a Private Pilot so I already knew the fundamentals. I suggest training. Alot more to it than just flying. (Ie). Airspace, no fly zones, restrictions and other stuff you need to know. Good luck. You will love it.
I so want to get into this sport. Any suggestions on how I should proceed. Have been eyeing up Aeroflight 103 and Quicksilver Mx103's. Was thinking of PPG but I'm not convinced yet since it has no airframe (maybe I'm old school ?). I'm based in Northern CA if that's of any help for making connections. Safe flights and keep the healing going man!! Low stress = fast healing. :-)
The Quicksilver is and always been the easiest to fly and learn on. They are in every country in the world. The Aerolite 103 is gaining popularity every day and also easy to fly. Im a Private Pilot. So I already knew the fundamentals of flight. I self taught myself in ultralights. But I truly suggest flight instruction from a certified instructor. Join ultralight groups on Facebook. Ask Questions. Watch videos. Absorb as much knowledge you can. Ultralights are fun but the responsibility is all on you to be as safe as you can. I hope you get involved. It’s a joy of indescribable proportions. God Bless my friend!🙏
@@wingandaprayeradventures6758 Thanks. I have some PPL time but it is 10+ years old and I ran out of cash at the time. I'll check out the Facebook pages. I've been doing tonnes of reading and research.
May I ask what engine? Back in 83 I had a double quick, cuyuna 430 , weight shift. Bought it 2 years old for $2500, Loved it. These videos are giving me fits.
I know....bites like a snake! This has a 447 Rotax. I had a Sprint back in early 2000 with the same engine.....They don't make them anymore but I do love this little engine. Thanks for watching. I have several more videos if you are interested.
The most fun I've ever had was riding my Quicksilver. Most exciting was skydiving. As I say, "riding in a boat is not swimming". You haven't flew until your body leaves the plane. Agree?
Not to be a spoiled sport - I am a private pilot who has also mainly flown ultralights mainly because of the high cost of GA . I've had 3 engine outs over the course of many years -and if any of them happened while headed toward or over trees, I would be very dead. A few hundred feet elevation may not get you as cool a video but it does increase chances of surviving an engine failure - not that uncommon without the redundancy of GA powerplants.
You know? We had a guy like you in our club back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. He was an expert on everybody else but seemed to be the only one who had engine outs, broken airplanes and would mess up a soup sandwich on the ground. We all stayed away from him. You need to concentrate on your own life and quit condemning others for what they enjoy. I know the risk involved in everything I do. It’s my choice. Do you go to Airshows and walk around looking at parked aircraft because those flying are not doing it in a safe manner and you disapprove?
Just watched. Interesting way to mount gimbled camera. Looks like out doing that all important practice. Looks like fun, wish I was you right then but with some more altitude as it is your friend most of the time.
@@wingandaprayeradventures6758 Yeah,we got thrown out of our airstrip for nise when the homes came in....had to move to the Indian Reservation nearby in Ramona........Later on they lost everything in a wild fire 1980s
Il tell u what. Ur either a experienced pilot in other craft or extremly dangerous cuz that first flihgt u were super low like u we're trying to keeper within spot landing distance of the next patches of field or somthin which is a much more technical way to go about it. My guess is u fly them other power planes in the garage ther cuz u looked quite deliberate and steady on the stick or swing I guess.
THRILLBILLYJP im a PP but been flying these for 25 years. This was a test flight. You dont see it but I had to stop between flights and adjust the ailerons. I do like to fly low. Thats what ultralights are made for. But yes, I was staying close since it was a fresh rebuild and was fine tuning👌
@@wingandaprayeradventures6758 were you by chance changing the hole the pushrod bolts to? Or just turning them in or out on the adjuster? When I bought mine the guy had the rods adjusted already and I just made sure I put them on the correct sides. But I noticed the rods attach to the second hole on the cable bracket. Now why would they give you the first and third holes unless they helped change the roll rate? I'm afraid to try it out.
Glad you're soaring in life and in ultralight, God bless.
God has Blessed me greatly! Thank you brother.
Was a beautiful day..beautiful touch and go's.
Haven't flown a quick in 15yrs myself...yup still miss it everyday! Great pilot n beautiful flight! Glad your back in the air!
