is this any better than xgimi aura 4k? seems like same specs. i have the xgimi aura 4k and im tempted to return this and get the nexigo aurora pj90 due to lack of support for ceiling mount for xgimi.

It looks lovely. It's been influenced by the hammerhead shark. Cracking projector, especially with 3D!

Is this single or triple laser ? I think the VAVA Chroma is still the best looking machine

Have to be honest, in terms of the aesthetics I think this one's actually a bit on the fugly side. It reminds me a bit of those cheap hi-fis you used to see in Currys or the like which felt the need to have ridiculously OTT-looking speakers to make them feel more expensive.
I far prefer the sleeker, more confident and subdued lines of something like the XGimi Aura - the big bulgy mess on this one would be really off-putting for me.
But these things are all subjective, after all! :)

I think it’s the same Spec rather it looks exactly like Paris Rhône just a different projector design. I bought it and than sold it off for Formovie. After using Formovie to be honest Formovie difference wasn’t that much. Ansi lumens just do a double check if it’s 2500 ansi or 2000 ansi.

Still is formovie worth the extra money

@@sunnyd6291 The formovie is a good projector with a really bad after-sales service. There is a long thread on AVS forum on discussing the challenges with the projector. It's really good for those who know what they are doingas the out of the box settings is a problem as the PQ is not that great. You need to fiddle around with it for you to get the right thing going. Formovie has issues with DVcontents and needs after-market devices like HDfury to help you get the right tone mapping and luminance. Formovie officials despite being on that forum have been sitting quiet with customer complaints. I would suggest buying a good long-throw projector. It will cost less as UST prices are comparatively more. Also the inbuilt sound system is also an extra cost which can be replaced with a good Picture quality of a projector. Also, you need to make sure you get the right tv cabinet etc. Better to go long throw in my personal opinion comparted to UST at this point of time provided if you are a serious movie nerd or try exploring LS800 although the blacks on the formovie are better. These projectors have challenges with HDR 10 contents which look dark and grim. Looks great for SDR contents but HDR10 is challenging. You need after marketing items which would allow you to yank the contrast without clipping the highlights and details because in low contrast you get a darker image, which isn't fun. Camera images dont justify what you see in actual. They look different in terms of brightness exposure colors etc when compared to in actual./

I honestly don’t know how some of these laser tv manufacturers expect to replace tvs if they only include two hdmi ports. That’s truly terrible and unacceptable. Should be three minimum, one with eARC.

It's because their studies show that most people using this either use 1-2 hmdi ports or have an AVR . The second is mostly true for previous projector owners or aspiring home theater buyers. Think about it for a second, you buy a projector instead of a tv for the screensize, which means you probably are into movies, why would you not have an AVR?
But with the switch to selling them as TV alternatives and now including tables and speakers, I can see this changing quickly. Hopefully they will be able to accommodate people like you.
I also think AVRs are outdated for most usecases and would like to see a cheaper alternative product with way less features. Let's be serious here, I love my avrs but for a common person that just wants to buy a projector, some speakers and enjoy some movies, they are pretty screwed, as they have no other option than buy an AVR (yes there are video processors but they require external amps, that would be 3k+ not to mention they are difficult to set up). No wonder those people buy shitty soundbars, it's not that they don't like speakers, it's the price of the equipment, buying an AVR to have a 5.1.4 system is around 2k, and if you are an everyday user you aren't using 90% of the features those provide. Plus the ease of use of soundbars, plug and play. This to say, it's not just the HDMI for video, both tv and projectors also need something to replace avrs for audio, just some simple amplification and processing with enough channels for at least 5.1.4
I'm not sure why these things are not priorities. It's the same question I have for black levels, everyone and their mom judges projectors for their black levels, yet we're still selling lumens in 2023? For long throw projectors 90% of the HT community doesn't even consider anything other than JVCs just due to that reason. So much so that JVC literally doubled the price this gen and it's still selling more than Epson and Sony combined. These companies are detached for the needs of the consumers imo. For USTs the Formovie theater had the right idea.

This looks similar to the viewsonic one you reviewed a few months ago. Wondering if the manufacturer just rebrands their stuff for these companies? Here’s the viewsonic one th-cam.com/video/fLczpzVAjsY/w-d-xo.html

Yes, exactly the same size and just slight changes to speaker grill on looks. The picture on this model isn't anywhere near as good as the viewsonic x2000,which for it price (£2000ish) is superb for a single laser unit. The only thing that let the viewsonic down was the very basic software and non working apps. This MUST be a clone but with slightly better app features than the viewsonic but definitely worse picture quality.
