Yakuza Kiwami - English Intro

- This is one choice of soundtrack for the English release that I did not see coming. Although it isn't as bad as it could've been, my only gripe with it is that the climax part may have looked better if it had climactic/action scenes instead, but who knows, maybe even that is gonna grow on me. All in all, I welcome it.
Okay but I just want to say something about that 0:42 part when his lips move. That is some fine details. Usually they would just not animate the lips and let the hand covered it. They actually have no reason animating that lips. But they did.
I'm sorry, I'm an animation student so I cant help but feel huge appreciation towards that detail
Ariix I undestand! I even pause the game for like 10 sec just because of that lol
I'm not even an animator and that part always stood out to me, and with your explanation I now realize why. Such great work on the team.
The Yakuza series in general has some of the most realistic and impressive facial animations I've seen in the industry so far. Like, they straight up put some AAA studios to shame.
Yakuza is one of those series where they put detail into *literally everything.*
If you like that you should see the bread physics in Yakuza 7. Beautiful I tell ya

This intro music has a very strong tekken vibe to it.
Yeah, but this is intensiver.
@Ganesh Surendra I mean intensive.
@Ganesh Surendra You mean KIWAMI?
@@joeb7703 EXACTLY
And i like it.
The first time I heard this my ears climaxed
Big Boi KIWAMI MEANS EXTREME
Same!
Tbh i liked yakuza 0 intro more
@@MeedyMedia Same. This still slaps though.
Ew the image I have in my head. But I get what you mean it’s just that good of a theme
After finishing Kiwami 2 i realized that a downfall of whole Tojo clan was a repercussion of Nishiki killing the Dojima boss
Whats even worse is now you see them as a shell of the unstoppable powerhouse that they used to be during the events of 0
@@senorcheesy9661 it wouldn't have mattered then again since the Tojo Clan were bound to be fucked up by the Government according to 7
They'll live on. As a private security company.
I think it was more of Kiryu taking the fall for Nishikiyama. Because he spent 10 years in prison, he realised that the Yakuza life wouldn't work in the long run, and when he got to take care of Haruka after 1/Kiwami, he took that as an opportunity to distance himself from the Tojo Clan. Of course we all saw how that ended up.
If Kiryu wouldn't have gone to prison, I could see him become a Tojo Clan Officer (on the same level as Kazama and Shimano) in five years max. In fact, Kiryu would have even got that dude (the guy Nishikiyama killed after his sister's death) and the rest of the bad apples from Kazama into line.
There is an argument that Kiryu would become the bad guy, but I don't think that would be very possible. Would he stop hesitating at doing wetwork? Yes. Would he become total psycho like Nishiki? No, I don't think so. Plus, something tells me that in his own way Majima would keep him in line. I say this because I see a possible friendship grow between the Dragon of Dojima and the Mad Dog of Shimano based on mutual respect of each other's skills (kinda similar to how it happens in the games).
There is another argument that could be asked on whether Sera would designate Kiryu as his successor. I'm not sure about it, but if the Kiryu Family would be as powerful as the Nishikiyama Family from the games, and Kazama and Shimano are taken out, and with Kiryu's sense of honour and justice, I don't see why Kiryu wouldn't be the Fourth Chairman of the Tojo Clan.
His own family would already be the military force to keep the other clans in line. Then there's the Majima Family who would also ally with the Kiryu Family (if Majima wouldn't already break away from under Shimano's thumb and become a fully fledged officer himself around the time of Kiryu's promotion). Finally, the Dojima Family could also see making a comeback under Daigo (who would this time not fall for Goda Ryuji's trap and thus wouldn't go to prison). For Daigo, I see him kinda 'apprenticing' under Kiryu and learn the ropes. Maybe Kiryu could groom Daigo as his successor for the Chairmanship of the Clan once Kiryu takes over.
Of course, there would be many more issues to iron out: such as would the Jingweon Mafia be able to take their revenge with Kiryu in charge, as he could possibly see this coming from miles away (remember Kiryu has already been a patriarch for ten years now, so he has the experience).
Would Kiryu take care of Haruka while still being the Chairman? This is a question I have tried to answer in many ways but I always fall short.
How would the other events of Yakuza 2/Kiwami 2 play out, especially the Majima Saga? Would Majima have his closure with Makimura Makoto, if say, Uematsu isn't killed in the first place or he and Ibuchi aren't promoted?
The other events as well. The Okinawa Resort Deal, the Ueno Seiwa Conspiracy, the Tojo Clan's continuous conflict with the Omi Alliance, The Secret of Onomichi, and of course, finally, the events of Yakuza 7 and the Kamurocho 3K Plan which saw various anti-Yakuza laws passed by the National Diet and Provincial Governments. How would Arakawa's plan work out? Would it even happen?
All in all, I think that of Kiryu didn't go to prison for Nishikiyama, it would have been a very interesting experience.

I have no idea what anybody in the comment section is talking about. When I popped in Yakuza Kiwami into my PlayStation and saw this intro, I personally thought it was the most badass thing I’ve seen in a long while. And the music - to me, it fits the intro perfectly in my opinion. I’m not a fan of electronic, trance, whatever the hell you want to call it, but I thought the music was jammin’ and fit the badassery that was going on in the intro. Especially at 0:21, where the music picks up and gets more intense when it shows the blood. The transition to something more melodramatic halfway into the intro gives you a nice cool down after the overload of action scenes. The music change was appropriate and fitted the scenes where it shown the more serious, darker side of the story. The change of emotion is really, really nice and makes you feel like it wants you to feel. My overall opinion, only having seen the intros to Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, I believe that this intro is the winner.
Edit: I just had a look at the Japanese intro of Yakuza Kiwami. I kinda still stick with this one, believe it or not. I think the Japanese intro is a bit too much and overused the action music for waaaay too long of a duration. As much as I love me some rock/metal and some orgasmic guitar licks, this intro is still in favor for me.
I much prefer this theme to the JPN version, think it suits the tone of the game perfectly
I really like this and 0 english intro. All the other intros yakuza fans say are the best sound like shit to me.
It's SEGA, it's a beat em up, this song fits nice.
Same, i always prefer the Japanese version of almost everything, but Yakuza 0 and Kiwami are the only 2 that i actually prefer the English version.
I argee badass all the way
10 years in the joint made you a f*cking epic intro theme
I always wanted to try a yakuza game.
Then playstation plus gave this game.
Then this intro played.
Now I'm playing the whole serie in order because it was totally awesome!

I love this intro! No matter how many times I hear it, it still pumps me up!
i want a DLC of yakuza 6 with baby haruto fighting other kids of his age with kiryu's style. Instead of having Mr shakedown there is baby shakedown asking for your lunch.

Don’t know what people are talking about, this intro is amazing!
I don't know what to feel about this.
I love Yakuza 0's Western intro, but this one doesn't have the "ooomph" to it like 0 did, Yakuza 0's song had this ramping up part near the end while this one just kinda ends.
Still pumped that I can finally play Yakuza 1 though!
I think the same..
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 a different version of this theme gets used in one of the boss fights
+Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』
ehh, i felt differently, i preferred this intro over 0's, even though 0 felt A LOT more fresh to me in general because it was my first Yakuza game.
Yakuza 0's intro just felt like a generic rock song to me, yeah it sounds good, but it just didn't strike a cord with me i guess.
Yakuza kiwami's intro on the other hand, with it's heavy electro emphasis and that "FEEL THE FORCE" line,
reminded me of 90's or early 2000 electronic video game music in a way :)
true... sadly kiwami itself was as bad as the intro.
Rohan Kishibe and 『Heaven's Door』 I agree
I love how it mostly showed Kiryu's heat actions.
1:00 The last time Nishiki ever felt guilty about anything.
0:39 nice belly-to-belly suplex, Date should join NJPW.
Matrix Yakuza
I creamed my pants when I saw this the first time. Thank you PlayStation plus November free game
This song works so much in the favor of describing the game. It perfectly reflects the speed of the fights and how every punch you throw or receive is felt. Love this game
This is the most badass intro in the entire story of videogames! Played Yakuza 0 months ago, started today Kiwami and i'm in love with that
I noticed that you actually hear a simple version of this song when walking in front of certain buildings in Yakuza 0, I had just finished playing Kiwami before I popped 0 in and heard the song. It’s interesting how they give you little hints like that
Another cool thing i saw is that you meet Shinji in substory in 0. RIP my homie.
0:49 has always gave me a feeling of emptiness when I watched the completion bonus video, Reminded that he lost his family and a lot of people thru 0 and Kiwami... Oda, Tachibana, Sera, Shinji, Reina, Kazama, Yumi, Nishiki. Them faces just scrolled in my mind, made me feel sad for a while X'D But ofc, That's why I told myself "This is definitely one of the best franchise ever.
I skipped it so many times because I was excited to play Kiwami after playing Zero 2 years ago, I love this intro so much
Same, it's easily one of my favorite intros.
1:07 this is the best point of the song
*FIGHT ME*
0:20
The build up in the end is awesome but that's about it. The english intro for Yakuza 0 was so mind-blowingly addictive that I rarely skipped it. This pales by comparison.
Ok. It's true that this intro doesn't sound familiar like others Yakuza's intros but this one is so damn good too. My fav parts are 0:35 .. the way Date is saving Haruka is gold, 0:50 poor Kiryu 😣 and 1:06 the beat is awesome.
I guess they chose the loading screen track as the intro. Maybe it was because of the times? 90's-00 techno streets of rage seems more applicable
That crescendo towards the end kills me every time
It's a damn good remix but the intro itself is a bit weak. The build-up with Kiryu and Nishiki at the beginning was on point, though.
to me, this intro is just a mini compilation of many cutscenes in the game and with very generic electronic music.
Well it's one of the bosses music, dunno why would they use the boss music as intro when they did the same thing from 3-5 western releases. Although this is the last game that has an official opening.
The Essence of Manliness: Allows you to gain a beard after watching any Ryu ga Gotoku video
When I first installed this game I didn't expect much of it but this intro sequence sent chills down my spine
0:19 just brings so much smoke, the Rythm and sound of the music is so good.
This is the only intro I actually sit and watch every time I put this game in my PlayStation. I really love the Japanese intro for 5 as well
This intro and music was the best part of kiwami
Kiwami stands for extreme
Hype as hell. So much emotion
Even though they never use the original songs for the Yakuza intros, I've always loved the western versions, especially 4, 5 and Dead Souls. This isn't the typical remixed rock track we're used to, but it's not a bad choice. Most of the Kiwami OST leans towards this techno/dance style, so it fits in well. My favourite part of the track is 50 seconds in
0:50-0:59 every time
As someone who completed Kiwami a few weeks ago, good luck to anyone starting the series! And remember, Kiwami means EXTREME
Kiwami 2 means Extreme low fps because now every interior is rendered
Ah, this game started everything for me. Then I played Kiwami 2, the remasters... 3, 4 and 5. And now I got 0 and 6! This series is awesomeeeee! =D
You probably have played like a dragon now you should play judgment and it's sequel is coming on 24th sept so good to play now and sega has made judgement too

This is my favorite intro because of nostalgia lone. This was my first Yakuza game, so it still holds a very special feeling whenever I play it.
FUCK CLIMAX BATTLES THOUGH
From an outsiders perspective having never played the previous games or heard them until a few months back I got to say this intro feels so 90s and idk why it hypes me up...
nishiki goes from lil cutie to Siamese cat when he wipes his hair back

Underrated comment
it's wild that people seem to spoil the ending to the sequel in the comments for this video of the intro. wow. wow! don't read em...
Thank you
I watch this every time I wake up
This game is a pretty good job man.
My first Yakuza game
I normally love the western intros I really like the instrumental versions of 3, 4, 5 and 0 but I'm not sure how I feel about this one at all...
manic221 I mean the game starts in 1995 to 2005 so I personally think the trance works especially for the era and it sure as hell beats the shitty version of the dragon of dojima theme for the intro of the original game
Same, I loved Yakuza 4, 5 and 0 english intro (I didn't play 1, 2 and 3), which is odd since I always hate when they mute/change openings, but with this one at start I felt... I don't know. But after that 0:50 part I said "Now we talk". Great game btw, even though I knew about Haruka's mother and which characters died and when I still enjoyed the story, the only thing I hate is that it was too short compared to Yakuza 5 and 0 (40 hours).
Devilleon thank you so much for uploading this, I've been wondering this for ages and I've even asked around recently with no luck. UI like aspects of this track but overall still prefer Receive You Reborn. I'm sure the English intro will grow on me more over time :)
You're most welcome. I am pretty much of the same opinion regarding this intro.
FlagshipFighter Japanese intro used BLEED ost, not Receive
I'm getting a Tekken vibe from the music.
Wasn't initially liking this one too much but when I actually got the game it really grew on me and I think it's a really well put together more emotional intro. I think 0, 4 and 5 have the best ones though. Makes me wonder what 6 will be like.
Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 had no intro, so it will be the same for Yakuza 6.
My story with Yakuza began months ago, I've always been a Sega guy, it's my favorite game company but for some reason I've never played Yakuza so, months ago, after finishing Elden Ring I had some "post game depression", I tried final fantasy VI, banjo kazooie, tried to replay GTA V, neither of them hooked me (there are great games but maybe it's not the time for me right now), then my best friend told me "play yakuza kiwami, you'll like it" and downloaded it with game pass, now it's my favorite game of the year, I'm making all the achievements and having so much fun! I'm gonna play all the yakuza games to be ready for Like a Dragon 8 next year, it became one of my favorite franchises
You should go and play yakuza 0, it’s the prequel to the whole series and has a lot of good insight into majima, kiryu and nishiki
It’s such a great series, I’ve played 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, and now I’m on chapter 10 of Yakuza 3. Despite what people say about 3, I’d argue I like it more than Kiwami 2. These games are such a blast.
Best Yakuza intro ever
This Intro remind me of Yakuza Kiwami's Install Screen.
It's the same track.
It does sound like some fancy fashion show, especially with the nishiki and kiryu tattoo showcase
Good tune at first I wasn't sure but now I've grown on it
Nope, just doesn't have the same push as Receive you Reborn. I'm glad we've got the modding community.
One of the greatest games deserved the greatest intro
I love "Receive You" but this one isn't bad at all!

Well... on one hand it's Vertical Point. On the other hand it's not Receive You or Bleed. In conclusion I'm not sure how I feel.
I kinda like a lot this intro, at first I found it a bit "Meh" but damn it fits so well at the story imo, I like a lot receive you for the jp Ver of the game tho but it's good, not as good as the 0 intros because both of them are fucking great but it's really good

Jealousy so real, waited 4 months for this lol
I understand why they couldn't license the Japanese cover of Receive You but couldn't they make a new remix since they own the original song? Or hell just use the original. Such a bummer.
I feel like this whole tech trance thing was kind of based off of nishikis music taste since this type of music was also shown in the fight with majima and nishikiyama in 0
I like the japanese intro for the song and the first few seconds of it was pretty great. But it's way too long for an intro. This one however, it's just perfect length and it kinda sums up the game? Like the part where the music goes hype represents the hype moments in the game and story, then it goes into a sad-ish tone until it's rising again and be hype again. Idk I think it fits better than receive you tbh. I mean I am really not a fan of dubstep or whatever but as an intro, this is the better one. Maybe if they cut Receive you short it'll be better
0:01 Since I always keep skipping this intro, seeing Kiryu getting naked just before I play gives me force
I like it. It makes sound like there is tension
When I fight against a bully I turn this on
I love how the beginning of the opening cinematic spoils the ending of the game (even though it's kinda obvious)
