It seems like they are targeting people for their own personal agenda. It doesn't seem like they are giving people grace with simple mistakes. And it's so hard to communicate with anyone. I pray you get what you are owed.
I opened an Amazon KDP account last month which was terminated last month! Only open for two weeks then I received a vague cryptic email about violating content terms. I published low content books. Blank and lined pages. Huh? Anyhoo. One door closes another one opens. I’m so unbothered. Thanks for the positive message and energy.
TRY TO FIGHT IT!!! you have nothing to lose... Call customer service, email, use the chat feature until they send you to someone who can actually help. Let them know you have always done what you thought was following the rules and ask for grace as it appears the rules might not be clear. Let them know that up to this point you still don't understand what you have done wrong and you have spoken with many in the community who also don't see the error. Even if you are going to take a break from KDP..try not to loose the account completely...it has obviously done you well. I have heard of some ppl getting their account back...best of luck!!!
This is the exact problem I'm having. I made 2 journals and 5 notary log books. I designed every page. I've had my account open less than a month and I haven't had 1 sale yet and they suspended my account. All they tell me is that I didn't follow the rules and they think I was manipulating KDP. I don't understand how to manipulate their system and this is very frustrating.

It is so inspiring to watch your videos. I noticed after your initial video about this book, after all this time they pulled your older books. I suspect that there are some jealous people that saw your success and systematically reported your books. Maybe this is a good thing as AMZ is going to change the royalty structure on June 20th. Agreed.That would be smart!! Mine probably got nailed for this reason. I've yet to decipher their reason but they should set up a script that looks at the book, audits its contents, and sticks it in the right place if it wasn't placed in the right place in the first place. Many of my low content journals were put in that category too because there wasn't one for "blank lined journals" for goodness sake!
I'm thinking they were looking at the title in a literal way. Your title is "My thoughts on how to be better everyday" but the book doesn't include any thoughts. It's blank. So people think they are buying a book/journal with thoughts in them. The correct fix would have been to add a few pages every now and then with some kind of quote/thought. Basically, its like saying "Favorite Recipes" and it's just a journal. It could mislead people into thinking it's a book about recipes. I hope that makes sense. I wish Amazon would EXPLAIN THIS. Because I watched your earlier video, saw the suspension emails and couldn't figure out the issue. This termination email is clearer, but I don't understand why they couldn't have explained this in the earlier email. In other words, they are harmfully vague and that is causing people to lose their accounts, which isn't right.

I don’t think anyone was misled by the title - the other part of the title was “Lined Journal” and I had over 400 positive reviews - people took pictures of the inside as well as someone posted a video ✨💫🎊🌺 but they said the categories were an issue 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ lol they do need to explain or provide a guide for the categories

This happened to me too !!! I used my own paintings as the covers for my journals and they cancelled my account. Claimed they did an audit and closed me down. I’m so mad !!!
It seems like the more successful you became the more they were determined to block your success, you did everything they asked you to do, and they waited until you started to publishing more books to terminate your account. However, you are on to bigger and better things so hold on tight.

Did't Amazon approve the book and categories it was under in the first place? so they can't really terminate you if they approved it. They only needed to help you change it so you could carry on with your business.

8:43 I think you were under the wrong category. Under that category are novels such as "The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien" and "I Could Not Believe It: The 1979 Teenage Diaries of Sean DeLear." It appears that you're not alone in misplacing your diaries/workbooks because a lot of people were doing the same thing. Since it was "literary" I'm going to assume it's meant for non-fiction books.

Literary is fiction, it's not meant for notebooks and journals. I have published 1 journal in 2021 as well as my test of the publishing process. I need to double-check its categories. Now it should be easier to put them in the correct ones.

Don't feel bad. I was selling shirts on Amazon, and on one shirt, I uploaded a texture that was lower than what they liked. It was an accident, but still high res. I got 3 strikes because the image was on 3 different style shirts. So... ONE image, that was on multiple items, gets multiple strikes for the ONE image. 3 strikes, and my account got terminated, within a week. I was selling for 2 years before that.

This is so damn unfair, they choose how much to tell, their guidelines are SO ABSTRAT and unclear, and they can simply take your money and effort away just like that! Without further expanations! This can't keep happening, I think writers/creator shuld unite and do something about it!!!!
I created Christian Journals for women, men and teens just that without words just the title and after they approved them, the decided to close my account permanently without a proper reason. They books where for sale a think a day before they close my account.
Hey there chica! Sheesh this is awful really awful news. Im not even sure what to say at this point but if you can afford it you can hire an attorney and have them file an appeal with Amazon and just state that you werent aware that your books were being erroneously misplaced in categories they werent supposed to be in. Also there is an appeal form somewhere in your account when you login as well. I just wouldnt give up so easily unless you are just completely over dealing with Amazon.
💛 they are impossible to deal with - I did file the appeal but it’s not a serious process lol- after the appeal they send you automated responses - I have yet to get to a human 🤷🏾♀️ - I am not getting an attorney because I don’t think it’s worth it lol I’ll end up wasting the money I earned from them ❌ 😂 and I actually feel this may be the best for me at the moment- I’m content with what I earned lol 😂 I would hate to keep building up my business knowing first hand that they have such huge disregard for my business and hard work. I feel blessed they terminated it before my Ebook was uploaded - many authors are dealing with them holding on to their book rights. Plus, my journals were in literary diaries and journals- there are hundreds of low content to no content books in that category ~ they have no consistency in their policies and that sucks. And they refuse to remove the duplicate copies of my book - and these are people who intentionally violate their terms and it’s definitely misleading customers who may be looking for my original book 🙄 anyhow lol God knows best 💪 thanks for your wise words

There's no "moral of the story" here. Amazon is all over the place with their own rules and guidelines. No one is trying to mislead people and what we may think is the right category may not be. That's the problem. They aren't even consistent in following their own rules. That is a problem.
Because your title is completely misleading, so it would always be in the wrong category, the only way you could have fixed it, was by changing the title. You got greedy, be thankful they let you keep the money.
They didn’t give me the money I worked for it! 😂 they obviously did not have a leg to stand on with the $67000 it would’ve been a legal battle in that case ✌️

Yup that’s one of the biggest benefit of KDP! If other platforms could match the print and ship speed then KDP would be in BIG trouble lol 😂

I created Christian Journals for women, men and teens just that without words just the title and after they approved them, the decided to close my account permanently without a proper reason. They books where for sale a think a day before they close my account.
Wow! Have you tried the appeal or replying to the initial email. I didn’t have any luck with that but I know some people have gotten assistance.

Hey there chica! Sheesh this is awful really awful news. Im not even sure what to say at this point but if you can afford it you can hire an attorney and have them file an appeal with Amazon and just state that you werent aware that your books were being erroneously misplaced in categories they werent supposed to be in. Also there is an appeal form somewhere in your account when you login as well. I just wouldnt give up so easily unless you are just completely over dealing with Amazon.
💛 they are impossible to deal with - I did file the appeal but it’s not a serious process lol- after the appeal they send you automated responses - I have yet to get to a human 🤷🏾♀️ - I am not getting an attorney because I don’t think it’s worth it lol I’ll end up wasting the money I earned from them ❌ 😂 and I actually feel this may be the best for me at the moment- I’m content with what I earned lol 😂 I would hate to keep building up my business knowing first hand that they have such huge disregard for my business and hard work. I feel blessed they terminated it before my Ebook was uploaded - many authors are dealing with them holding on to their book rights. Plus, my journals were in literary diaries and journals- there are hundreds of low content to no content books in that category ~ they have no consistency in their policies and that sucks. And they refuse to remove the duplicate copies of my book - and these are people who intentionally violate their terms and it’s definitely misleading customers who may be looking for my original book 🙄 anyhow lol God knows best 💪 thanks for your wise words

I had someone get upset with me about that decision but the truth is this: it doesnt matter if I show my books or not it still will not guarantee you will sell the same and etc. I am again sorry this happened and I respect where you are with things. Definitely a wise choice! Lol yes 100s! Some even have the same cover, title and description 😂 typos and everything- such a disgrace and I even saw some running ads on them 😂😅

Yes they did! I got that money in March and they terminated my account in May
They kept what I earned in March and April. They take 60 days to pay out after the month you made the sales.
Have you thought about licensing all of your titles that were removed to somebody with white label rights?
Moral of the story - follow their rules and guidelines, do not mislead people and always place your book or notebook in the correct category, do not use keywords that you're not allowed to and so on... And yes, I agree about not keeping all your eggs in the same basket, that's a smart business decision. I'm glad you're not defeated and bashing kdp and you will keep going without them. Thanks for sharing and warning us.
There's no "moral of the story" here. Amazon is all over the place with their own rules and guidelines. No one is trying to mislead people and what we may think is the right category may not be. That's the problem. They aren't even consistent in following their own rules. That is a problem.

Because your title is completely misleading, so it would always be in the wrong category, the only way you could have fixed it, was by changing the title. You got greedy, be thankful they let you keep the money.

They didn’t give me the money I worked for it! 😂 they obviously did not have a leg to stand on with the $67000 it would’ve been a legal battle in that case ✌️
