Limp home Ford Focus mk2 - Instrument panel repair

This mk2 Ford Focus had an intermittant fault where it reported a lot of diagnostic errors and put the car into limp home mode. It also had occasional poor starting. Forscan diagnostics reported high signal levels on the HS CAN bus which is an indication that the bus has lost connection to a terminating resistor; one of which is in the instrument cluster.
