- Almost every contractor I know gets thrown off by working through bad weather.
Where I live in Florida it rains almost every day in the summer.
Keeping your sales team motivated during rainy season is not easy.
It doesn’t matter if it’s real hot , rainy, or its freezing cold, working in bad weather is easy.
Recently I took my team out with Door to Door Expert and coach Jared Lee.
Jared has been a top performer for the biggest Door to door company in world for years.
Now he works as a trainer for another Door to Door Sales training company.
I knew it was going to rain like crazy but I wanted the team to have a good day.
So I challenged my whole sales team and Jared to a Hardcore Door to Door War in the Rain.

I definitely got slammed by homeowners left and right with denials at the door.
As the rain started hitting me between No’s I was feeling the Door to Door pains.
With $500 on the line I sure as heck didn’t want to get beat by a competing door to door coach.

I was impressed by the owners pitch took 7 no and kept pressing impressive
poor rebuttles in my opinion, he was just arguing with a guy on his own porch.
Those seals weren’t broken until you lifted the shingles. The corners lifted were from cyclic thermal expansion and contraction.
Thats not necessarily true. Tabs will lift and crease and lay back down and seal up from heat

Why looks for those three things and what does mat transfer translate to when dealing with this?
May transfer is evidence of direct physical damage that can cause leaks . When asphalt is ripped off bottom layer of shingle water can penetrate to felt . Creased shingles and mat transfer damage is easily missed by the untrained eye . Many times roofs have only a few missing shingles but have wind damage through out the roof . Documenting the damage correctly will build value for customer and help insurance company to see the fact there is clear damage .
@@LeeHaightYT got it, what if the insurance company comes and says that the Mat transfer it’s because the contractor damaged it? I’ve seen somebody tried to put it on them (my coworker)
I would say that if there is verified wind date that would possibly damage the roof then it’s the insurance obligation to prove that the contractor caused the damage . I would pull wind report through hail recon or hail trace first . Make
Sure there is collateral evidence of widespread damage and that the roof was old enough to be hard to repair .

That’s all good and I want to get back out there doing doorknocking but far as I know in the restoration business the laws have changed for roofers public adjusters and restoration contractors you are not allowed to to be doorknocking rules have changed big-time if they insurance company asks your customer how they find you and they tell them, you knocked on the door and told him they have a bad roof it’s going to be denied !
You didn’t hear the good news ! It’s against the 1rst amendment to limit commercial free speech about something that is true . Within 12 days Gale Force Roofing won an lawsuit against the state of Florida by getting a temporary injunction on the illegal law . Insurance companies committed criminal acts by getting Florida state senate to approve changes made the last day before session ended. Go out there and door knock all you want . In the conversation I spoke of storm damage and ever led case studies of other neighbor properties . There’s nothing wrong with talking damage, estimates , and unorthodox funding methods like an insurance claim . Gale-force Roofing filed suit against the state and one. You are good to resume business again my friend.
There’s no law that can be enforced for door knocking. Soliciting is not a crime. I have knocked in 12 states and never been ticketed or anything for door knocking because it’s legal.
These roofs aren’t gonna fix themselves!

I do too. It’s quicker and saves time. Not one person has yelled at me for doing it either, it’s just being smart and not walking through the perfectly manicured lawns. It’s only awkward if you make it awkward
