Your landlords actually sound pretty nice. Most landlords get upset if you change anything about the apartment, so the fact that they’re not only letting you but helping is kinda wild. Also the fact that they offered to replace your sinks when the only thing that’s wrong with them is staining (not a functional issue) is incredibly generous. Most landlords would only do that so they could raise rent afterwards. So many apartments are owned by huge companies that only see tenants as moneymakers, not people. I know I don’t know the full story, but they sound nicer than any landlord I’ve had so maybe give them the benefit of the doubt and focus on the things that you can change for now :) your apartment really is already looking lovely

I know, especially for me when I moved early this year. I had to set up so many things and I felt like crying and was comparing myself to other people some how thinking they had it easier but that’s not the case they just aren’t real about how hard it is to move❤. Suggestion: They sell liquid epoxy for tubs and sinks. It takes 24-48hrs to cure and you could do it yourself if you don’t want to wait for your landlord’s. Maybe ask them if you do it can they deduct it from your rent and any painting/changes. Your landlords actually seem reasonable because changing current rods isn’t their job (it is something you hire task rabbits for) and the sink and tub aren’t reportable because they work. A good rule of thumb is to get repairs and renovations done before you move in. Also, some of the things you pointed out are apart of picking old buildings with “character”. With that said, I like your how you are making your apartment feel like home.

So pretty! I could see a curtain being installed on that shelf by the bed. Just so it gives more by the window vibes and gives a little texture and adds more tranquility to your bedding area.
You should use the doors of the old Murphy bed as your headboard, with the bookshelves on either side of the bed. That would best. I did something similar once.
I’m a tad under the weather, but I was wondering if could you assemble the second sideboard without doors and use that as a media unit? Loving all the pink. And for Christmas next year, you should get a pink Christmas tree. 🩷
@@hokusai41 I already have two coming LOL I don’t need a third 🥲 but wow thank you for the innovative idea!! I would’ve never thought of that. (I got rid of the second sideboard btw)
14:27 I think that the most annoying part would be that the bathroom sink has two faucets one for cold and one for hot water, which is how they used to make them back in the day, I find it really hard to wash your hands or brush your teeth in that kind of sink without getting burned or having a frostbite lol The staining would be secondary in my opinion...
The frame tv isn't really necessary. You can diy a frame around a regular tv if you want or many other creative things to hide it. But what's wrong with a tv anyway? Try Rust oleum Appliance Epoxy for the sink. There are even small ones you can paint on. I just love vintage apartments but of course they all will come with issues. Nice place!
Overall, I love the apartment. The sideboard looks great! About the curtains, I like all 3 of them, but I get why you like the patchwork ones. If it were me, I would put the bed somewhere else, only because it blocks the drawers and shelves 😞, but maybe you want the bed to be far away from the windows, which is understandable. I didn't see previous arrangements. I would like to see how it works with the velvet blackout curtains.
i just found your channel! everything looks so goOood and comforting in some sense, i'm so curious about what you do in life or your job to achieve this kind of lifestyle! i also aspire to have my own apartment someday
About the start of the vid and the issues with bed placement: it looks off because the shelving implicates there being a center you should follow, so I'd use floating shelves above the head of the bed there (try to get them as similar in appearance as the built-in shelves) in order to give it a more deliberate look, as if it /should/ be extended towards the corner. Floating shelves in that gap area between built-ins as well. Hopefully that makes sense lol
Since you are hanging up so much stuff, how about getting a step stool or an actual ladder? I am terrified that you’ll end up falling one day off that stool and chair/couch situation getting those curtains again and really hurt yourself. Best case you just land on the floor, worse is you crash through the window. Please?
I do love your energy and the video! But maybe cuz you’ve only been there a month and begging for many changes, they are reluctant especially on Low priority stuff because it is still functioning
This is my first time watching you. You whine a lot. You’re a grown woman & you complain about things that should not hold any merit. Your sinks look bad but the function & are not gross. Buy enamel paint & sand them down & cover the rust yourself. Isn’t that hard. The hinge issue on your side board you were missing….could have spent a couple bucks at the same store where you bought the paint….reason that prices have sky rocketed the last few years …. Buy the sideboard & use it as your media cabinet. Idk ….. I could absolutely not watch anymore. You are so entitled
I like your vision and what you've done with the place, but 75% of the video is you complaining 😅 "this is so annoying/I'm so annoyed" which is kind of damping the mood. I don't understand why you bought another media unit instead of picking up the other one? Yes you might not have a car but you've ordered task rabbits before. You could also coordinate with the new tenant/former landlords for you to go and pick it up and take an uber back with it?
