Just don't use red dyed nectar. Plain white sugar in a one sugar to four parts water solution, brought to a boil then cooled.
And don’t use bleached sugar. Turbinado or sucanat is better, and of course no high fructose corn syrup. Wana feed the lil guys, not harm them.
And change the water mixture (depending on how hot it is outside) every 3-4 days. And check for ants who have made it up to the water mixture! They bite the hummingbirds when they try to drink!
