I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Are you speaking of the stone's hardness? More cushioning in the barrel vs stone? Running just a half barrel of total volume will cause more damage to the stone like bruising, chipping, or fracturing.

I am surprised how much time it takes to clean rocks. But the finished rocks are amazing.
I was too, but then again, I'm cleaning 12-15 barrels a week, and I do inspect each and every stone.
I bet if you just ran half the barrel, you would see some difference. I would’ve thought that you would’ve reduced it by half after the first run

I dont think that was pyrite. More like oxidized mica. It only flashes gold from certain angles
