@Jayvee Robrigado It was confusing at first, but i finally figured it out. Shirase is the real Hokuto and Shirase is her real name. The "Hokuto" of this game is not the real Hokuto, she is in fact the real Nanase who was given the memories of the real Hokuto by Shirase herself to remove her as a threat in stopping her from killing Kairi and at the same time to give Nanase the chance to live a normal life away from the duties of their clan. The Sanane of this game is not the real Nanase, she is her own character who was given the memories of the real Nanase to be a sort of substitute to the real Nanase.
@@stevendejesus6735 It's a fairly convoluted plan but it makes sense if you see all the endings. It began with Garuda, an ancient demon/source of evil. He was sealed away by Hayate II's grandfather but when Kairi went evil, that freed the monster. Garuda possessed the original Hayate and wrecked havoc. To deal with the problem, the Mizugami Clan transformed/unleashed Hokuto into Shirase to kill Kairi despite them being half-siblings. Hayate II didn't want the family to slaughter each other so he hijacked the plan. He brainwashed Nanase into thinking she was Hokuto and Sanase as Nanase. This interfered with the mental programming the Mizugami clan imprinted. Shirase couldn't kill "Hokuto" since she registered her as herself and Sanase attacked Hayate II so he would be weak enough to be taken over by Garuda which somehow purified the monster by sacrificing himself. Through this, Kairi was also turned back to normal and everyone regained their memories. In short, to prevent a huge family tragedy, Hayate II hijacked a weird plan to save everyone's lives at the cost of his own.
That Hokuto who is a playable DLC fighter was the real amnesiac Nanase and she was disguising as her sister Hokuto.
