    Andrew, good video on installing a Horizon Treadmill belt. Although, after installing it the belt was scraping the rear deck. It was an issue of having to place washers on the adjusting bolts to keep them from going in too far. The bolt treads on the body of the treadmill had stripped out. In case someone has a similar issue. Good Luck, Greg

    OK great video my friend. I have a similar machine but couldn't figure out how the side rails detach. Looks like they slide off but they're in real tight!

    No idea if my treadmill comes apart the same way but the video is a good starting point

    If and when i want to fix up my treadmill, i have been thinking about just flipping the deck, since i don't see how it could be worn on the underside :), there is air between.
    Thanks for video.

    This is a very helpful video, thanks so much for sharing! I had to replace my belt but the deck is fine so I tried flipping it as you suggested. However, there are no holes for the screws that hold the sides/tracks in place on the other side. Would you recommend drilling holes in the other side or would this compromise the integrity of the deck? I see in Horizon’s manual they also suggest flipping the deck but give no directions about this issue

      I would personally drill the holes, especially if the manual suggests it. Glad the video was helpful.

    Thank you so much Andrew for such a great video. In this video you tell everything so clearly and everything is very clearly visible. Thank! I beg you to help me. My WESLO DX10 treadmill has a broken deck and I can’t figure out where to buy it. Where do decks sell? Someone told me that there aren’t any on my treadmill. My question is: And if buy a slightly larger platform and make the right size at home. Is it possible? What is your opinion? Thanks you Andrew. Respectfully Valeri.

    Hi Andrew. Great video but I am having some trouble getting the new belt to work. The deck was very difficult to get back on once I took it off as I think some of the holes were slightly off that was one issue. The belt itself is very tight on the treadmill and even putting the rear roller on it’s extremely tight so it’s a lot of work just to get the rear roller onto to hook it back up. I took everything to the last step and thought it would work but the running belt shifts to the left and it runs into the drive belt and obviously fails. I can’t figure out how to fix that. Any ideas?

      My only thoughts would be that the old belt had stretched over time and if you tightened it up this would make it had to put the new belt on. Hope this is the issue. Hopefully you didn't get sent the wrong belt.

      @@Maxsimic Hi Andrew. Thanks for the response. It ended up being the front roller was not close enough to the rear roller and when I adjusted that I was able to get it so the belt would not immediately go to the left into the drive belt. Thanks again for getting back to me on this and thanks for making your videos. I could not have completed it without watching your videos. I watched some other videos trying to get some help as no background in treadmills but a lot of the steps in the other videos didn’t have the very close-up shots like you did which was key in me being able to complete the project.

    Is, this the same for horizon sonic II as the side rails don't slide out?

    Does the belt just stop and the electronics stay on, or do you have to hit the treadmill's breaker?

    • @Maxsimic
      @Maxsimic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the issue I was having was the running belt would stop moving while there was still power to the treadmill.

    Andrew that's a very good explanation. I have an treadmill my own. I bought it at Itek in Belgium. I don’t profess to be an expert on treadmills, but when I heard a nasty cracking sound (and felt a huge amount of springyness when running on the treadmill) My boyfriend did some basic investigation to find out what was wrong. The problem was a broken deck, which is the large flat surface that sits inside the belt and effectively takes your weight.
    Now I bet you’re thinking “How heavy is this girl if she managed to break the deck on her treadmill?”, but I only weigh 57kgs. After 6 times calling to Belgium about this problem, they said it was my own fault.
    Now I've seen that it's possible to fix it, my question is: where can you find an new deck so my boyfriend can fix the treadmill. We live in the Netherlands.
    Thank you

      I would try the manufacturer and if they do not offer it go online and see if there are any after market companies that sell replacement decks. Good luck and thanks for watching my video.

      Just replaced a broken Horizon deck this afternoon, appreciate this concise, clear video. Was nice to find out that all I had to do was loosen the rear roller, remove the side rails and I could slip the deck out the side. No need to dis-assemble the front roller and associated hardware. My 59kg daughter broke this one, but after 3+ years of an hour everyday full speed I cannot complain - grin. Now I just have to get her to lubricate the deck more than twice a year.

      You could try ebay or you will have to order it from the company itself.

    What was the reason you've decided to replace the deck? How many miles would you say the belt lasts?

    • @Maxsimic
      @Maxsimic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did it on the recommendation of Horizon, not sure if I actually had to or not. I think we had around 900 miles on the belt.

    Andrew Maxsimic what were you experiencing when you were running on the worn belt ? Did you find that the belt would slow down or the belt would slip on the rollers if you were walking / running ? I am going to probably be buying a new belt for my horizon treadmill but compared to my belt I dont have as much bunched up felt sticking to the deck/belt

    I haven't completed the repair, but I got two pieces of sheet metal for $10 each and secured them beneath the belt to cover the worn deck. I could see the deck's slippery black coating was destroyed from the weight of my feet. The belt will slip over the sheet metal , but not the worn deck. I have to bolt the metal onto the deck.

      Home depot has the sheet metal.

      I hope you do mind to give the part number of those metal sheet and how to secure them on the deck and over 2 years, are they still in good shape? Thanks for your time. Can Doan

    I just did this and my old belt looked the same as yours. The cotton was worn on the edges but not in the middle, which doesn't make sense to me since my feet are walking in the middle not the edges. Any thoughts?

    What was the deck made of?

    • @Maxsimic
      @Maxsimic  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is made of wood. I let the salesperson talk me into replacing it. I do not think it needed to be after further inspection. Also I would try flipping it over. Thanks for watching my video.

      The belt was lubricated every time the treadmill code came up to lube it. The belt had 990 miles on it, all of the fiber under the belt worn off.

      I was from Horizon and it came in a little clear plastic bottle. Each bottle was one application. I would say it was more watery than honey.

    Now why couldn't you just flip the deck over and use that side instead? Or perhaps even rotate the deck so that you're using the back end? Each deck should have the ability to recycle it four times. Otherwise it's a scam to make more money

    • @mbo7613
      @mbo7613 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      because the decks are usually plywood with a plastic sheet on the walking side only
