I enjoyed your video. I loved hearing the crowing roosters. I watched a very technical video on how to do this before I watched yours. Both videos were good, but yours gave me a boost of confidence to just go in the kitchen and make some creamed/spun honey. Thanks.
You don't have to get crystallized honey to make it. If you have a mixer in your kitchen, put your amount in there and add the whip attachment then set it to run for about an hour. You can do this with liquid honey or even use honey that is crystallized with liquid honey. Lots of recipes online to try.
you might mix the definitions - crystallised honey is the one with crystals of honey as some varieties of nectar crystallise, but the cream-honey is the coney mixed with air bubbles, which is done by the continues mixing of honey in a jar. crystallised hone hardens as more crystals developed, and cream-honey stays soft.
Fun Fact - You said the word Honey 101 times in 8 minutes hahaha! Totally kidding, couldn't resist! Ive never heard of Creamed Honey so you taught me something new! Thanks for sharing Tom!
I wouldn’t say that it changes the flavor so much it might get a little bit sweeter but from my experience it prolongs the usability of the honey because once it’s creamed it won’t crystallize to a hard consistency it will stay spreadable and it’s something that you can actually spread on some toast and it won’t drip off.
Yes you can. You need crystallized honey to make a starter. The problem is you need to make it into fine crystals using a blender. Buying a starter is only 7 bucks, the fine crystals encourage the other crystals to also be fine. Then u get your creamed honey!
I use a Mortar and Pestle on our crystallized Honey......to seed our honey......why introduce some unknown random product into your honey?.....not as value added as it could bee😎
Put a jar of honey in the fridge and see what happens to it the next day , the honey will be nice and crispy the next day, looks just like creamed honey to me.
Interesting that you need creamed honey to make creamed honey. Kinda a catch 22 if you dont have any creamed honey. lol. Thank you for sharing, I love honey and will have to try some creamed honey some day. :)
You can make cream honey out of old crystallized honey by grinding down the crystals in a blender- but I wanted to buy a premade batch to guarantee a nice smooth batch!
@@KoalityofLife you can also take liquid honey and put in a Kitchen Aide style mixer with a whipping attachment for about an hour. Just look up recipes online, lots to choose from.
I would use the creamed honey as starter for other honey jars. Take out a few spoonfuls of your creamed honey and mix in a jar with mainly raw honey. Instead of adding honey to the creamed honey add the creamed honey to the raw honey.
Thanks Josh! Yeah I have learned so much! Best decision I have made this year for sure! I looked up honey butter and seems easy to make! Last night we were making lip balm from beeswax!!
Why buy seed (creamed honey) when you can make your own with crystallized honey by beating it until the crystals are very small. I'm confused why a bee keeper would tell anyone to buy creamed honey to seed it.
I'm not sure what this man is doing but back in the day when I was growing up we had spun honey .. today they call it creamed honey back then when I was growing up only the bees made this honey..now today people making spun honey is definitely not the same taste totally different in the texture is definitely different I love spun honey I get it from my honey bee man when available.. 🤔 I don't get it you're mixing cream honey with regular honey and that's supposed to be your spun honey..??
bro i need to tell u dont buy honey to make this. u need a mortar and pestle .and some old crystallized honey from back on the old shelf u forgot u had. put honey in mortar and pestle grind that stuff for an hour...lol put a good show on and go at it. now place that into some fresh honey and let it sit. if its not silky on your tong do it again longer in the mortar. u know watch 2 shows . ps my dog is howling because of your dog..lol
Yeah I thought about waiting for crystallized honey to make it- but this is my first year as a beekeeper and I don’t have any crystallized honey yet! But nan is it good!

😂😂she is so adorable 😂
What a little doll 🥰 she is. Thanks for the video 💕

On your farmstead, you are also raising little hams! 😉She's a little doll. Great self confidence.
She’s not lacking in confidence!
I make creamed honey too. As soon as I open up a jar of creamed honey I start a new batch so it's ready when I need it!
I’m selling a few jars at a craft fair next month!

I didn’t know about it til I started beekeeping!
The roosters crowing is applause and music apparently at least that’s what TH-cam subtitles think
So does this process change the flavor or consistency? Why do this? I missed that detail...

Great info🏌🏽♂️
You didn't mention the secret ingredient was rooster screams...
there has to be a way to do this without a starter, where did the first one come from otherwise?

More than five mins before honey then he stops talking?
And? That's what a teaching video is all about!
Wow that looks awesome.. Thanks for sharing.. :")
Your lil girl is adorable

Very cool. I always hated it when honey crystallized but now I have an experiment to do with it. :)

@@bigsabertoothbunny5986 Cool, Thank you. :)
That's whipped honey. Totally different thing.@@bigsabertoothbunny5986
Mine came out very hard. Do you think I can just add more raw honey?

AHh thank you. Actually, after I stirred it up, it's ok!!
Cool, man I've learned a lot from your beekeeping/honey videos this year. Have you tried making honey butter? My brother gave us some, it was awesome!
Thanks Josh! Yeah I have learned so much! Best decision I have made this year for sure! I looked up honey butter and seems easy to make! Last night we were making lip balm from beeswax!!
What’s the name of the red cat?
Mu mu maximo
Those roosters lol

I believe you "misremember" bees make just honey, they don't spin or cream the honey. It has to be made by human hands.
It is like making a sourdough starter. You need the crystalized honey, mixed with unprocessed honey, that acts as a starter for the process.
