Lyrics:
Baby we can talk all night
But that ain't getting us nowhere
I told you everything I possibly can
There's nothing left inside of here
And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here
I poured it on and I poured it out
I tried to show you just how much I care
I'm tired of words and I'm too hoarse to shout
But you've been cold to me so long
I'm crying icicles instead of tears

So sorry RIP your dad
I'm very sorry for your loss..May he watch over you and your family...
Meat Loaf is in a very small class of vocalists that never said "Look at me".
He simply said "Listen to me while I take you on a journey".
Thank you very much for taking all of us with you. You will be sadly missed. 😭
Wow, your comment is so awesome...and so true.

Today my husband would have been 54. He loved meatloaf, this was one of his favorites. I might not have him anymore but I still have our 2 kids. I guess you can say......2 out of 3 ain't bad. We miss you John but rest easy and happy birthday!

I’m watching this on Valentine’s Day , it’s so sad and I’m so sorry for your loss , this song reflects how my partner feels about me we get on and live together ,but she doesn’t love me she’s still in love with an old flame that turned his back on her many years ago . Hang on to your memories.

Kind of song you can play ten times in a row

I heard someone on the news today describe his voice as “operatic”. Great description. Thanks for all the great music Meatloaf. You have left your mark on the music world.
His voice was so captivating and his range was outstanding.
If you listen to his deep tracks they’ll blow you away 🎶🎤
Weird, i never considered it operatic. It's much too natural
The memories I hold closest, attending your amazing concert at the Medina ballroom in Minnesota. I will never forget your performance, as you greeted your fans... RIP to an amazing music mentor- fly high.
.. That's cool but meat loaf always hated it when his name was spelled as one word!..jus sayin because the food meatloaf is spelled that way that's probably why he would have a problem with it !...

The first memory I have of my dad rocking out was to Meat Loaf I knew every word to the Bat out of Hell album when I was four. It’s still a favourite today. On this day a year ago, I said goodbye to my dad for the last time, he died a few hours later in the early morning hours of the 22nd. This feels full circle to me. RIP Meat Loaf & RIP Dad
Only a few days off from my dad also we used to pop the cd in and let her rip prob when i was 8
Yeah my father died on Christmas and best memories was going out as a kid to garage sales listening to meatloaf ❤️

Sympathy to you. You are an awesome woman forsure
Your dad had good taste in passionate music that is sung with heartfelt meaning.
Rest in Peace to your dad. 🎀
Rest in Peace Meat Loaf, Mr. Aday and thank you for the music, Sir. 🎀
Hugs to you, Nicole. ❤
This is just one of the greatest vocal performances ever. The so called artists/singers of today should be ashamed of the garbage they put out.
I’m 19 years old and all i listen to is 70s and 80s music. Meatloaf is still my favorite band and this will always be my favorite song. Too bad I couldn’t live this era.
keep the past in your heart..and your future in your eyes you can learn from the past but can't relive it ever..most of us have already tried it..
Ya didn't miss much ... Mens fashion was horrible, as I can attest ( somewhere in a family album is a pic of me wearing flared, white bell trousers with a cuff and a green suede leisure jacket ... if I ever find it, I plan to burn it ... ) and only a few songs from that decade stood the test of time ... This is one ... Live on Marvin in your voice!
No singer put more emotion into a song than Meatloaf. By far one of the most underrated and under appreciated artists ever.
I have to agree
There's a great reason to watch "Meatloaf Unplugged". In this rock studio session you see exactly why MR. LOAF was one of the greatest singers the world has ever witnessed....
@@ChristopherMcKinney-pm2rt Thanks! I'll check it out.

He really demonstrated that you can't judge a book by its cover. This rough looking guy had such a beautiful voice- my fav Meatloaf song. RIP
Mine too

He was overweight.. What? His heart was all that and that makes him special.
Mine, too.
Clive Davis later admitted he made a huge mistake passing up Meatloaf, judging him on his looks. He was amazing, love this one.
This song is so brutally honest. It touches a deep place from so many years ago so perfectly. This is lyrical and musical mastery when you're transported so effortlessly. Meatloaf and Steinman were a perfect match and so many generations are grateful for the memories.
It hurts
That one line "There's only one girl that I will ever love and that was so many years ago" haunts me every day!.

Nah everybody knows Meat ( Marvin Aday) was an icon. He was an extremely talented artist. He had commercial success for decades. This song was from the late 70s and he was on MTV with his bat out of hell video in the 90s. It’s a shame his last years were spent in chronic pain. He is missed.

The whole world owes a debt to Jim Steinman's songwriting. Without it, we would've been denied the full extant of Meat Loaf's vocal powers.

Sorry about your brother. Those days were so amazing with unbelievable music. So glad that was my era to grow up in.
Today is May 18,2024. It’s a rainy morning here in New Jersey. I lost my husband to a heart attack at the age of 40. We loved Meatloaf, this song especially. I’m 66, disabled and alone. I’ve buried my entire family, all of my friends in life and I’m scared. I’ve lost everything just trying to find love. I’m facing homelessness and don’t understand why? But I still have music. Oh G-d, I’m scared. I’m a veteran and can’t believe that there is no one able to help me? I’ve reached out to the VA and that was in December of 2023. Nothing. All the talk about helping veterans is just that, talk. I’ve lived a wonderful life, married, traveled and saved my money. I had 325,000.00 dollars in my 401K and lost everything with a blood disorder. 86 stitches and 7 retention stitches holds me together. 4 blood transfusions later and I’m broke, financially, and as a person. Sorry for the long rant but thanks for letting me say it out loud.
DONT BE SCARED ..... LIFE IS A JOURNEY NOT A DESTINATION.......
Mabe Woods and woods attorneys can help. They specialize in VA. They are in Indiana. Google there number call them and, get a assessment. May Our LORD God be with you.
Don’t give up.❤️
I hope you are doing better. I know things all around you seem to be falling down. People aren't doing their jobs and places not following thru for you. I just hope things are doing better for you. I honestly do!!
I am not a veteran go to a local church ask for assistance maybe they direct you some where. Remember try be strong and faith God will protect you guide you
Timeless, heart wrenching, filled with nostalgia, and brings me back to "not to be" love of my adolescence. Truly one of the best creations humankind has produced. RIP Meatloaf.

In my eyes (or ears) this is one song that will always be timeless and one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I was fortunate enough to see Meatloaf when he toured to Australia and while there was a lot of negativity, I was able to see a legend, an absolute legend, singing these amazing songs that told a story and were written to mean something, not mass produced by a team paid to churn out crap. This guy gave his performance everything and was just amazing.
+TheAussieStig30 why was there negativity towards him at the time?
+oliverkold1 TheAussieStig30 : Meat Loaf is amazing. So, I'm sure that your experience was nothing short of awesome!! Also, oliverkold1 if I'm not mistaken TheAussieStig30 is talking about his 2011 Guilty Pleasure Tour(in Australia and New Zealand) He received a lot of ridicule for his performance at the AFL Grand Final(pre-match entertainment show) where "fans" said he was horrible and was unable to hit the high notes and mostly mumbled into the microphone during the 12 min set. Meat Loaf has said he performed the whole tour with a vocal cord hemorrhage.
+Melissa Cottrell yes that was the tour. A lot of people were selling their tickets very cheaply to the concert I went to because they didn't think it would be that good. I managed to get a gold ticket for about half the face value. I had a ball and really enjoyed seeing him live.
TheAussieStig30 Awesome!! In my opinion those who sold their tickets lost out! Meat Loaf is one of my most favorite concerts that I've ever attended!!
+Melissa Cottrell So you could say he was too hoarse to shout?
Vocal mastery. Meat Loaf will forever be one of the greats.
He had the most amazing voice. This song is so sad and beautiful it made me cry every time.🍒
Amen to that love,em or hate,em great, great voice RIP meat
I’d stop whatever I was doing, just so I’d get to hear his powerful singing. I’m so sad to learn of his passing. To me he seemed impossible not to like. (Or love.) And, even harder to ignore once he started.

Love this song. So many memories 😢 didn't know he was married at the time. Broke my heart 😢 still love him 😢
So is life! Hope you are still happy and healthy despite this
You’ll find someone else to love…someone who deserves you. hugs xo
Such a terrible loss. Grew up with those lyrics. Meat Loaf 4 ever.
Meatloaf and Jim Steinman were legendary! They will be truly missed. They made the best music that everyone loves!! Rest in Peace Meat!
You are sadly missed, your songs touched our heart daily. Rest in peace
If someone can't understand "hurt people hurt people," I refer them to this song.
My husband and I always loved this people. I lost my husband, And Meatloaf. I still love the music and makes me not hurt as much. Always relaxing. That is why I still love them
And really do thank you for this, my husband and I used to dance, talk. And had a lot of memories. My heart really thanks you also. Might not be here forever, but they will play this for my memories
His songs will live forever. Every lyric is poetry, that reaches into the heart of anyone who has ever been in love.
I dunno…
Spot on
Absolutely right
You nailed it Jim Wolstencroft! Thank you!
May Meatloaf rest in peace up in Heaven with God! 🙏
Al and Mairéad Pelletier
Very true, and even those have never found true love. Some of the best memories of my life were blasting meatloaf on long road trips with my family as a young boy, may everybody give a moment to appreciate this amazing gentleman and "Don't be sad" ❤
My Mom passed today, she love the Bat out of Hell album when it came out.. Some of my best childhood memories of her are with this playing in the background... I love you Mom
So sorry for your loss Chris, but have faith in knowing you will be reunited through our lord, and trust me I am no religious zealot, but I do believe in loved ones reuniting in the next life
So sorry for your loss I to love everything meatloaf did I hope my kids and grandchildren listen one day to someone who was a great singer and understand what what great music was
Sorry kiddo
Sorry hun to hear this Yr mam b with u always xxx
I'm so sorry for your loss. There are songs where I bust out in tears because it reminds me of my Dad, who passed in 2018.
My favourite song on this album. Reminds me of being really young in my nappy dancing and singing to it with my older brother and mum while she made Sunday dinner. Just the three of us. There not here anymore so it’s bitter sweet when I hear it now. Miss you both wish we could have one last sing and dance to it 😢❤❤
I remember to on Sundays my mom used to make breakfast for me my daddy and my husband of 32 years on Valentine's Day we've been blessed I miss my daddy so much he rest in peace❤😢
Nothing my parents have passed so I know your pain. But you have your lovely memories like I do.
Sorry for your loss.
I'm so happy to hear that you had a similar experience like me. Precious ❤
Meatloaf is a God . Guy can sing like no other . Guy will bring you the tears especially if you have someone special in your life
Musical Stars don't die as long as their music live in our hearts.
Except Marvin
That’s right
I'm listening to this on a snowy night in Charlotte 🌨
As he said don't be sad RIP
This simply is the best song that Meatloaf ever done
I agree with you, my favorite meatloaf song
It's all Coming Back to Me Now
For Crying Out Loud is the one to me that stood the test of time. This was his most radio friendly song.
Because it wasn't ten minutes long lol
Wake up dumbass.....Meatloaf has sold more than 50 million copies and you are so blind you cannot even rise above .05 on your IQ test....ugh.........take the short bus bud!
I know it has been two years ago now, but your love remains in your children. His love remains. Let God bless you richely. We love you. Kim
I love all of meatloaf song resting peace there will never be any one like him
Still listening in 2023
My wife's favorite love song...she passed away 3 days ago...when I hear this it makes cry...RIP Carla...I miss you with everything in me
❤️

She'll be waiting for you.
So sorry!!!
Tears welled up in my eyes as I read this. So sorry for your loss. 😢
A true classic. Golden voice that will never be replicated. RIP Marvin Lee Aday. AKA Meatloaf. We lost a legend.
Red sauce chicken loaf
@@davidoneill3670 No way. It's clearly blue sauce.
Definitely one of the best and exactly at the right time in history
So true
Michael...not Marvin.
This young man poured his heart n soul into his songs
This man had amazing music and on story tellers on HBO great stories of how the songs came about .All of us that were teenagers in the 70s early to mid80s had the best music .
I couldn't agree more, I was born 67 and feel so privileged to have been a teenager through to adult in the 80's. Definitely the best decade and all I listen to is 60's and 80's. What a terrible world this is now
RIP Meatloaf. I woke up with this song in my head not aware of his passing. His music was a big part of my college experience. Thank you sir. Rest well.
Don't be sad...
That's weird I just realized I had been singing it a few days ago. gone but will never be forgotten.
It’s weird man, yesterday this song just randomly popped into my head. I hadn’t thought about it in years
Can we please get some kind of movement together to have Meat Loaf inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
He's in better company ,among the non inductees.Supertramp,Nazareth,Doobie Brothers,Dire Straits, Electric Light Orchestra,The Guess Who, Iron Maiden, Scorpions,Smashing Pumpkins,Supertramps,The Cure,B52's,Blue Oyster Cult,Joe Cocker,Nick Drake, the list goes on...
The R&R HOF is just another scam.(just like we used to believe BBB,Better Business Bureau was an official consumer protection organization(it's just a for profit corporatuon, just like triple AAA,Walmart,McDonalds,etc.).
Omg can't believe he's not in it.... Bat out of hell is one of the greatest albums ever, this album was part of the soundtrack to my parents youth and mine too!! Every song is a hit!!
Joseph B. Thought he would be ..
@@lizzieball3795 Meatloaf should be in I agree totally - want to write him in every year but to clarify Dire Straits, The Cure and ELO are in - Dobbie Brothers up for nomination this year
yes we should meatloaf deserves it but they are to busy putting artists in that arent rockers an shouldnt even nominated
2024 and I'm still here for you handsome. See you in heaven. Hit me up.
To miss a note on a musical instrument is of no major consequence. To sing without passion is inexcusable !
Ludwig van Beethoven
RIP MEAT--When you sing---You''ll be bringing some smiles up there on those angels faces, and the thousands who greeted you, who loved your music-- see you soon--- this 75-year-old rock and roller shed a tear hearing about your passing.
I cried too!!
😭

Even his quotes were fantastic... "The Angels had guitars before they had wings." R.I.P Meatloaf.
And" I've been crying icicles instead of tears. "
Written by Stienman
@@blackcatshaveitall3778 Those quotes enlighten our lives
First he played, "Now" he flies, enjoy the journey Meat. 👍
"Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night, I can see paradise by the dashboard light"
I remember my parents loved him I just had a flash back and I looked for this song , I found it!!!!❤❤❤
This entire record is beautiful from beginning to end. Meatloaf was the real deal ❤
