    Ken, again you hit the nail on the head. You demonstrate exactly what we want to see in the clearest, most detailed way, but never talking down to your "students" Excellent work!!!!.. from a high school teacher here in Canada.

    Ken i just love your humble beginnings! I just love the step by step process on building this section on this layout! I love the transfer cabooses by Bachmann Trains! Fantastic.
    I too have built an easy all foam simple add-in shelf module at the end of my shelf layout. When I wan another scene after a while.... I'm swapping it out instead of tearing down an entire layout.
    I really like your technique as well. Learning a little something from everywhere.

    This video is just making me realize how little I've been modeling lately. Everything you're doing is the stuff I love. Building layouts. Keep it up Ken!!!
    Tons of great demonstrated techniques in this video!!!

    This makes me think of the dawgbone style layout with a turnaround at both ends and then the tracks between them come together like a double mainline....

    Great show, Ken. Hey, ask Larry when Bachmann is going to do some more On30 equipment, like a C-16 or C-19; style locomotives.

    I LOVE this new sectional layout idea - it's GREAT! I would never build another layout, unless it were SECTIONAL, and moveable, upgradable, and easy to add new sections with other model railroaders - if and when desired. Sectional is the way to go.

    Ken, you glue the track to the foam. Is there a lot of noise from doing it that way when the trains run? Thanks

    I would really like to see you build a HO scale PCC Streetcar layout with the real Streetcar/Trolley tracks ! or a Subway layout ! 🚞 🚇

    Do people really find it easier to solder the power to the side of the rails compared to the underside? You can do it after the track is down on the side, but you can still see it potentially, compared to not seeing the wires soldered under the rails, but having to do that while you’re laying the track.
    I’ve soldered under the rails for my n scale.

    • @andrewlaverghetta715
      @andrewlaverghetta715 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I didn’t really know how to turn blocks off and on when I made my layout, so I ended up using one of those dpdt switches. When it would switch the polarity, I just didn’t add any wires to that spot, resulting in no power. Not sure if there are any downsides to this though.

    Dumb question, but if you have to do all this switch wiring whether or not you're running DCC, why don't electrofrog switches just come pre-wired?

    • @andrewlaverghetta715
      @andrewlaverghetta715 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m curious about this, because I have Peco electrofrog, and I just use insulated joiners on the rails that would go to the frog. That might be a problem if you come in with DCC and have the switch thrown the wrong way though. I’m not sure. It hasn’t been bad for DC, which is what I have.

      @@andrewlaverghetta715 Interesting. That's about what I was planning to do. I was planning on blocking off the sidings anyway.
