    Hello from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire in the UK. My name is Martin Richard Hall ( MRH ) I am very interested in American rail roads. I believe you model in HO gauge as apposed to 00 gauge in the UK. I am 67yrs old now and spent most of my working life on the railways in the UK. I love all American steam and diesel locomotives. You have a great channel. I shall keep watching. Best wishes to you all. 🙂👍🚂

    A very informative video! I like how Ken shows you step by step how to build the modular layout! Thanks Ken! I love it when Bachmann comes on & shows us it's new products. I collect cabooses. I will check them out! I love the buildings that Ken built! That Is Neat! A shout out to Mr. Joe Fugate for this hobby format! I always love to learn! I really like those Harbor Freight hobby knives, the handle is just thick enough and rubbery for grip. The standard #11 xacto handle is so small it hurts my hand to grip after a while.

    Some day I'm looking at building a very simple turn table. It's from a railway in France, a small meter gauge one that's used today for just passengers. It only turns a single 0-6-0 steam loco without a tender. The nice thing is that you won't be able to see anything under the table and the table is a complete circle. No bridge or anything like this one.

    Looks great! I would have located the water tower next to the engine house.

    I have been waiting for this episode for so long. Learning how to make the turntable, I wish I had my stuff with me I would build one right now.
    For the locomotive paint raps, could a coat of clear coat bring back some of the shine.?

    What is the scale of that large scale boxcar and hopper? I'm looking for "A" scale products, (1:29) to add to my USA Trains rolling stock. They look like they may be 1:32. Thanks.

      I bought wire the same weight of the original ( or just a bit smaller ) and made my own shapes of blades.

    The turntable was awesome. I will build one someday. Question on why short stubs on the end of each track on the opposite side of the turntable? I'm assuming prototype, but why? Your videos are amazing!

    • @stanleepatterson95
      @stanleepatterson95 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the locking mechanism on the turntable. Many only had a lock on one end. So to lock it to a track. The track had to have a track on both sides of turntable

    It's so sad the our truly American hobby model railroading was outsourced to China .......bring all manufacturing back to the USA.....now

      As much as I want the some of the trains to be made in USA ..... the reality is most of us would not be able to afford it.. just look at BLI steam stuff most are running in the 500 for die-cast and the brass hybrid start at 799... if it made in USA you might see double of those prices .....

    What I want to see, from the manufacturers, are IN CAB color mini cameras, wireless, wifi - I want to be able to control a power unit, with a computer or tablet, with a mini color camera placed in the power unit's CAB. I want to experience operating from a CAB, such as would be seen by a real, live, living railroad engineer. This would REVOLUTIONIZE model railroading - new views from the CAB. I also want to see aged, graffiti-covered, oil and grease, dirt - on the rolling stock and power units. ALMOST every model railroad, has pristine NEW everything - it's NOT real. Oh yes, I want to see a real SCALE rail/track, with real scale wheels. This is no reflection on the model railroaders, it's a question,a want list from the suppliers. Come on suppliers, and manufacturers - get off of your butts and move the hobby to a new level.
