I have an Israeli civilian gas mask, that was bought in 2012, both it & its filter (the filter is marked as “ABL 05/86 over 002”) are still sealed in plastic & unused. I’ve read online that they have a shelf-life of 15-20 years. I was wondering if you know this to be true, & if my gas mask & its filter are still good & unexpired based on the fact of them being sealed in plastic & unused? Your help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

That’s the wrong filter with it, that is a Soviet GP-5 in GOST threading. You want NATO threads for an 4A1

I work with toxic and corrosive chemicals for a living. I wouldn't trust the filter that was included, but I use a better more expensive filter that was a level p-2 and p-3. The filter included would just be p-1 in my opinion.

Ebay. The 4A1 takes both GOST and NATO filters, but I would heavily advise buying NATO filters.

It's about $29-30 with the filter . (Improved filter) unfortunately that "Halloween" is unnecessary because it makes people feel like It's just for show . It should work. I need to do more research in just getting into gas masks 😂 wush I dud along time ago I have bad lungs from athsma, second hand smoke, and a nasty peumonia I once has :( feel old!

Very late, you can buy 40 MM NATO filters off of amazon and any other online retailers. Check military surplus stores.
These people are ripping you off you should only pay $25 for this with a drinking tube and a actual filter that won't kill you
@@medik180 still would not risk it. The particulate layer on GP5 filters might be breaking down due to the old age. This releasing asbestos.
