    Less then Lethal ideas:
    -NOVA security capture shield
    -Flash grenade
    -Taser Pulse: would really like to see how well the Pulse works compaired to LE versions. The Pulse is a civilian version that is purchasable for anyone for personal protection, and if whoever gets shot by it is willing to get shot by an LE version like the X2 for a comparison .

    • @jolosarmiento7382
      @jolosarmiento7382 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      NOVA shield is barely any better than a regular riot shield. It might have just a little bit of utility in prison and correctional facilities but is not really much of a deterrence in my opinion. I saw a video somewhere of a college guy volunteering to be a test dummy for a demo and he was giggling the entire time
      Flashbang grenades are great and most effective in confined spaces during breeching and ambushes. They have on multiple occasions caused irreversible injury to innocent people when SWAT teams raid the wrong address looking for drug dealers
      Taser Pulse is the one most useful for actual civilian self defense. It's designed to incapacitate the perp for 30 seconds during which you are supposed to leave the weapon and escape. It is however single shot so don't miss because you will likely not have time to reload. The X2 has 2 shots and incapacitates for 5 seconds per trigger pull because LE are obligated to detain/arrest the perp

      @PuppyMonsters 2 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Nobody in my company was immune to the gas after we had to rip our masks off inside, but once outside, you could definitely tell who all of the smokers were.
      While everyone else just went outside and walked it off, all of us smokers were gathered around the giant trash barrels hacking up what was left of our lungs.
      I was a special case though. After I felt composed enough to leave the barrel full of lung nuggets, a corpsman ran up to me with a worried look on his face and yelled at me not to move, then thrust his hand in my face and pinched my nose shut. I looked down and my shirt was covered in blood. I then looked back straight ahead at the corpsman and his eyes suddenly got really wide and said "Oh shit! Have you had your AIDS test done yet?" He was holding my bloody face with his bare hands.
      We talked a few minutes and he told me that in all of his time being stationed at RTC, he had never seen anyone get a nose bleed from the gas chamber. Looking back, I wish they had put something in my medical record about the incident, because it got much, much worse for me when they sent me TAD to the HAZMAT division of my ship.

      In Finland we just used tents in basic training. Had 2 rounds around shooting range with gasmask and rain/protective coats over our typical winter cloth. Then inside of tent and teargas was set of. 3 minutes in and if your mask was leaking and you could not take that you had to to that run again after you fixed your mask. Luckily it was easy to wash that shit of with snow. Platoonmate was not too lucky with his mask and he said it started to leak around 1 minute mark. But he just took it like hell no im gonna do that running course again. So im just gonna hold my breath last minute and then bail out to wash your face. Fun times.

Platoonmate otherhand literally sinked his plain head inside snowpile and stayed there in while. It was cooling feeling for otherwise burning skin. That stuff was quite strong indeed because when marching back he stopped couple times to pick up snow to wash his eyes. Maybe not best possible way to wash but it works+ it cools that burning feeling. He sayed if that same would have happened in summer even most muddy black piss water in somewhere ditch would be better to have than nothing. Some guys volunteered to do that same test but without mask on. Training officer denied because after that there would be medical examination and that would be a hassle do to with that amount of time we had.

    Just want to clarify for those watching, after talking directly with Mira they actually do not recommend using 2 filters at the same time. They only recommend using one on the opposite side that you shoot on for shooting purposes. Double the filters doesn't mean double the filtering. It filters just as much as one and you only waste another filter (they are $79 a filter). Also, For those who haven't worn a gas mask, with only one of the CBRN filters it's already tough to breathe properly. Throw on 2 filters at the same time and it's practically impossible to run in SHTF scenarios and breathe.

    • @mac11daddy6
      @mac11daddy6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also CS tends to clog the filters much faster than other agents. Gas masks are designed to be used to escape a contaminant area not roll around in it like the Germans during WW1. The CBRN filters do not produce oxygen so after 30 minutes to an hour of wearing a mask you are light headed because the more you breathe through it the more clogged the filter gets till you can’t breathe through it anymore. Also those filters that Matt is using look a little sketchy and out of date cause I know what ABEK and MIRA filters look like. The mask doesn’t matter it’s the filter that does

      wasnt that bad lol. at least when i did it. only like 4-6 people had the boogers and coughing all that. i just had a slight itching in my throat, eyes hurt a little. my hands felt like they been sun burned. they us take off our mask, say our full name, then answer a question then purge and off we went. 2nd time was bit rougher then first. cause they just had us breathe it in for 5 seconds. so alot of us had the running nose. but even then wasnt bad.

    I remember as part of training over here in the uk they locked us in a ‘tear gas room’
    They will ask you to remove your mask and answer basic questions such as your rank and name.
    As long as you know your basics on how to clear your mask afterwards the room itself is not the main challenge at this point just remember to stay calm.
    Afterwards when it comes time to leave our DS asked us as a group to remove our masks and breathe in with our eyes open in order to fully feel the effects of cs gas, again remaining calm is the key.
    My god watching this took me back to that room and I regretted having a good breakfast that morning you do not wanna huff cs gas on a full stomach, man this video made me feel pain I hadn’t experienced in years.
    When I joined the prison system I did training at a high secure psychiatric prison called rampton they treat you to a ‘prison riot’ (obviously a simulation) where they have you clearing rooms filled with cs gas while they throw heavy items at you, have you face off against armed assailants and throw flashbangs in every now again.
    So you can’t see anything, your skin is burning and all you can hear is the ringing in your eyes and the alarms barring around you.
    Man do I hate CS gas.

There are at least two riot canisters burning at all times in there. They would hold and question the recruit long enough to force a negative reaction, then walk them outside to de-con.

Heat often plays a role in the dispersal of CS gas from a canister or grenade. Studies have found that, in an enclosed space, such thermal dispersion can generate additional semivolatile organic air contaminants [source: Lenhart]. For this reason, training programs usually use specially designed CS capsules rather than tear gas canisters."

When we do the gas chambers we use capsules and burn them in a hot plate. Also the CS you guys used is not the same form as we use in the military.
