- Are you unsure of how to install a load-bearing bay window?
We give a guided tutorial on how we install bay windows using accrows and strong boys to keep the weight of the structure above
We use bay-supporting jacks as a final finish to support all the weight above
Have you any horror stories of bay window installs gone wrong?

Looks good boys got my first load bearing bay install coming up next week hope it goes as well as this lol
Nice one and hope this video helped as I said I would advice taking 4 strong boys and acrows
I remember the first bay I did as a fitted not a boy ! Two load bearing, tile hung middle and tiled apex roof above , 6 sided bays off a ladder (as we never used scaffolding back then ) with timber coming out the original timber that was massive sections . I nearly cried 🤣Nicest one I ever did was a three sided box sash bay that I put back with timber box sashes it looked really good.
Good technical Breakdown on window pole jack system
Thank you
Hi do you fix the cill as well as resting on foam and packers thanks
Bottom bay first! Love it, so many people debating this and saying ALWAYS DO THE TOP BAY FIRST. what are your thoughts on this? Nice work!
Yes bottom bay first ideally always, so any movement when installing down bay doesn’t effect new upstairs bay
Fix the cill to the frame first and fit as one complete unit much easier!!
On a load-bearing bay window?
Your title is misleading, it should be 'how you fit a load bearing bay, not 'how to fit a load bearing bay'. There is no correct way as subtle differences in the way installers work make every bay window install totally different. A 7 segment barrell bay would be good to show.
Yes valid point everyone does do bay windows different!
