    When bowing they expect food; don't bow unless you have food to give. If you don't have food you can say "dame (dah•meh)" which means "stop".

    I live in the us. In certain woods we see a lot of them (obviously they're not as tame here). Truly beautiful animals.

    Wow! Now, I wish I could lived in Japaneses Island. Y'all have a lot more animals than we do, almost. You know the first time I've ever seen a cat, is when I use to think they were only exotic animals, because you don't see them as much as you do today.

    they are bowing because they think they will get food so I think the people that work there either used classical or operant conditioning to get the deers to bow

    Heh... My teacher Pekka Lahti was Unto Auttos friend and helped him to get those reindeers to japan. I've heard many times Pekka telling me about how the japanese (sorry I dont remember his name) man was tired of building ships and wanted to try something else... well this japanese man came to Finland and he had obviusly done some research about it but the problem was that Unto did not speak english at all. He only knew what yes and no means. So when this japanese man came to Finland to learn how to take care of reindeers they could not even speak to each other that well. First time that this japanese man tried to put some fire on it took several hours and well... this japanese man learned a finnish word "perkele" wich is a swear word. And why did my teacher tell me about all this? Well actually he told me a lot more but the main reason was that it was the first time ever he got into TV... He was about 20 years old and thats like over 40 years backwards and he was feeding these reindeers in Finlands main airport in Helsinki. And he allways says that the good thing about onyl one guy having reindeers in Japan is that he doesnt need to mark those cute animals. :) If you have questions for more information, feel free to ask.

      @CoryFarver 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, they actually do bow, but there are a lot just looking for food, in a less busy situation you can walk up to one, bow, and it will bow back. They are like dogs, doing tricks for food xD. The deer are really distracted in this video.

    Do they groom/file down their antlers or is that how they naturally look?

    • @Soccerplayingenby
      @Soccerplayingenby  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure, but I think it's how they naturally look. There was a deer missing an antler but I don't really know why.

      I know you posted this comment 8 months ago but I just wanted to say, deer will shed their antlers every year and grow new ones :) The deer with the missing antler may have been shedding its antlers. Other than that, I would imagine the only other reason for them missing an antler would be some random misfortune, like getting in a fight with another deer and losing it.

    Those deer must think that feeding deer is humans' purpose on earth. Who picks up all the deer poop? Volunteers or paid employees? It's steady work, I'm sure. Nara Deer Park looks like a great place for both deer and humans.

      John Ogbonna Kinkaku and Ginkaku are temples in Kyoto, also there's an area in Tokyo called Minato. (edit: typo)

      Minato means harbour. So minato would basically be the port or harbour region of tokyo.

      .-. hunting skills? *And here is a deer in the wild... stalking it's prey... the wild flower.... Watch as the wild flower blows in the wind, ever alert... At any moment ready to spring... ... ... ... ...to catch the sunlight?

      @TheBsdinnan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TERESA JIMENEZ The deer there have been fed like that for hundreds of years, they won't need to hunt PLANTS (deer don't hunt they eat plants which don't exactly move) for hundreds of more years to come. It's all good... These deer are revered as holy, not hated and abused like a lot of actual pets in the world.
