Thanks for the explanation of a generic low 25psi that can do both R410&R22. I probably came across that issue of a wrong low pressure switch on a R22 system that was actually for a R410!
Good Info . I got a Old Carrier that started Short Cycling last nite. One dual cap for Herm and Fan . Plus one single cap for fan . Dual cap on Herm side measured 0 micro ferrads and fan side was low . Replaced today and still Short Cycling . then i did the voltage checks for 24v and found 26 v at thermostat wire before Pressure Switch and 0 v after switch . Dont know if i can remove it . There seems to be only one Pressure switch . I dont no if switch is bad or if i leaked out ? What should i do ?
You need a pressure gauge or hvac manifold set. I have personally seen very few pressure switches fail, they are usually doing their job in my opinion. It you don't have power passing through then you could have a refrigerant leak and that is what is your real problem. You might have the age old problem everyone dreads...just low freon!
@@johnjennings-JJ 3 years ago it took 4 lbs . 2 years ago 1 lb. Last year it didn't want any . I think the Caps had been bad awhile and might of finished off Compressor . Or freon filter rusted to much up and leaked ? Thank U
