It's fun too man. Create a Biotope out of your local hydrophilic plants and watch nature in it's purest form happen in front of you. 🤙

Have a cool Lily plant I got from my local pond. It goes dormant every winter(doesn’t die just stays low) despite being in my 80 degree aquarium. Also I’m the lucky person with a spring fed well. 😄

Hi D, struggling to keep frogbit alive in 2 of my tanks. Both tanks have lids and artificial light. Val and hornwort thrives in them. Are the lids trapping too much water vapour or just not enough light?

Hey there Stephen! I've heard this before from another subscriber who uses lids. I don't use lids. My floaters are my lids. I've only witnessed them die personally from an extremely high surface flow. They dislike being dunked or splashed. It's why they've adapted to the life they have.
However, I have a secondary thought. Hornwort consumes massive amounts of nutrients from the water column. Your floaters could be in competition with that plant.
Speculating on your lids creating too much humidity for them also seems to be a sound explanation.
      My advice. Process of elimination.
I read three different factors that could be your issue. Hope that helps 🤙

@@yourtap thanks for your wisdom 🤩.
Lids been off for a few days. Good to know that the hornwort is greedy. Think I'll put the hornwort in the other tank.
Kerry says hi and a big hugs for helping me through my difficult time.
      Doing something about it ❤️
