I Hava a black forest java fern that's doing really well even though I glued too many roots to the rock and not enough rhizome. The leaves started turning brown, but I happened to to order 7 nerite snails for this 55g tank, with more on the way, and it turns out the brown was just diatoms. I'm new to live plants, but should have known that because I live near st Petersburg Florida and we have a lot of minerals in the water which leads to brown diatoms...thus the nerites which I absolutely love anyway. I even splurged on a few red racer nerites...those are expensive...at least fir me they are...great video
