hey drummer person guy, I hear that double bass and you're a madman for sticking double bass into compositions as gentle as these. You're a madman and it sounds so damn good.
I just watched a pretty lengthy interview with Yvette on the Anderton's TH-cam channel. What a fascinating person and a great interview she is. So open, friendly, and genuine. She's clearly a genius.
gleventhal I’m around 8 minutes in and can confirm the first two songs are indeed in 4/4. No crazy time signatures (yet) but the playing and, well, everything else is indeed crazy in the best way possible. Loving this band so far!
as a musician that is still a considerable outsider to this math rock stuff, it’s like they’re playing the guitars like chapman sticks. really interesting stuff
jesus, im so blown away right now... I've been playing piano and guitar since i was 9 and this is just something else... its like a band that doesn't care about money, they just nerd out on talent... love it!
I was astonished at how these these sounds came together. I don't what to say but it made me excited. I was laughing with joy at some of that fingertapping technique! Such an abstract thing to watch
This was my introduction to Covet and the first viewing I wasn't really into it but it was David's bass playing that brought me back over and over until I became a fan.
I just found this band because they’re coming to city with DGD and HTS. I didn’t know the guitarist was a woman. She’s amazing. This band is amazing. Cannot wait to see y’all live.
this band is awesome, I just found them on instagram and they just made me discover a new genre that could easily fall in my favourites. I have also fallen in love with the host, but that's a different story.
Dirty shred your dad listened to… hahaha I’m your old weird uncle that’s gone to and still goes to all the killer guitars concerts and BUYS their physical products that put food in their mouths and pays their electricity bills. And that dirty shred inspired it all.
20:00 holy shit, the polyrhythms are so tasty. God damn. Yvette is unbelievably gifted in a way I cannot understand, but don't forget about Keith, that dude is a fucking monster. Great feel.
The drummer and bassist must feel like they have the best gigs around. They are so lucky to play with such a gifted, unique artist like Yvette. They must constantly be forcing themselves to think outside the box. I'll bet they're really happy playing together, too. That counts for a lot. Also, I think the concept of water is a great one for their songs. As Bruce Lee used to say, water can crash or it can flow. This music makes me feel like it does both as well. Be like water my friends.
It's not so easy to find a band member. You basically need to live with them. Committing to a band is almost as getting married. Maybe they had some auditions but didn't found someone they think fits.
yvette young is the coolest person on earth
For what reason or reasons?
Fantastic guitarist, super nice person.
Dr. Peridot ugh fantastic is an understatement hahaha
They are all very talented and wonderful humans.
Jesse Shayne , her solo project is so nice indeed
hey drummer person guy, I hear that double bass and you're a madman for sticking double bass into compositions as gentle as these. You're a madman and it sounds so damn good.
Fabulous polyrhythmic drummer
double bass doesn’t belong much in Covet’s music, though.
KEITH GRIMSHAW HES IN A METAL BAND
ONTOGENY IS HIS BAND
that's how he plays....
Set list

Covet needs a part 2 on Audiotree!
they’ve got a couple of new Audiotree uploads from their new album!
So technical yet so relaxing. It's making me too laid back to want to figure out time signatures.
I am at around 3:30 right now and pretty sure it's 4/4 here at least.
gleventhal I’m around 8 minutes in and can confirm the first two songs are indeed in 4/4. No crazy time signatures (yet) but the playing and, well, everything else is indeed crazy in the best way possible. Loving this band so far!
Love the harmonic handsplosion at the end of Hydra 18:22
Hydra is so fucking good
Good quality music. So cohesive between the three. Sounds innocent, light hearted yet playful and with charisma : ) I feel you girl
Players like Yvette and Ichika Nito are opening up amazing new horizons for finger-style and finger-tapping technique...
as a musician that is still a considerable outsider to this math rock stuff, it’s like they’re playing the guitars like chapman sticks. really interesting stuff
lil late to the party but if you want to see some really cool tapping check out Stanley Jordan. guys been doin it since the 80’s
jesus, im so blown away right now... I've been playing piano and guitar since i was 9 and this is just something else... its like a band that doesn't care about money, they just nerd out on talent... love it!
amazing band, so many great musicans on Audiotree lately
Just saw these dudes with Polyphia and Jason Richardson at the first show of the LIT AF tour! It was so good.
I think the lighting is spot on on this one. nice work
I was astonished at how these these sounds came together. I don't what to say but it made me excited. I was laughing with joy at some of that fingertapping technique! Such an abstract thing to watch
Pretty dope
@Years of Apathy - Your YT Channel name is the exemplification of me :) Brilliant (but I wish it wasn't true lol).
This was my introduction to Covet and the first viewing I wasn't really into it but it was David's bass playing that brought me back over and over until I became a fan.

These guys gel so well together. Such an amazing performance. So much love for this music!
Awesome guys. Very TTNG vibey and that is 100% a compliment.
Wow... just wow. Yvette is amazing, very gifted indeed.
Yvette = amazing, bassist = beast , drummer = tight AF
2019 and so glad they’re getting their recognition! As a guitarist Yvette is one of my crushes:3 and she’s so cool!

Haha I was at the show they played right after this set, who knew! These guys are awesome
One of the greatest bands on the most radical planet in the galaxy.
Unbelievable, so stoked I saw them
I just want to give the Host a hug. I hope she's okay.
lmaooo don't be so patronizing she probably just has social anxiety
Yeah she seemed... interesting
It may be one of her first assignments. She'll get better.
I felt that
She's pretty cute, but yeah honestly one of the better Audiotree hosts.
Best Audiotree live session, ever!!!
Love how that drumset sounds
Wonderful, unique band. Interviewer-host is really agile, great follow- questions and observations.

Sounds fabulous and brought me to a wonderful annd eerie trip !
this band is awesome, I just found them on instagram and they just made me discover a new genre that could easily fall in my favourites.
I have also fallen in love with the host, but that's a different story.

Imagine Yvette having a guitar battle with Dylan from Tiny Moving Parts omg make it happen!!
Chris14421 she doesn’t like competition
A collab would be super interesting, though!
i love this so so much. i don't know much about music theory, but i do know yvette really fucking kills it.
GODAM that sea dragon break at 23:17 is on repeat
this band is so underrated
Nice music it's somehow feels like taking mo to a paradise. An awesome trio band unique music. Rock on COVET.
ughhh yvette is so good!!!
She is a guitar maestro!
Kmac should cover one of these songs.
Yvette's playing might be amazing, but being able to keep up with it is just as incredible. Solid rhythm section. Beasts
i like covet and chon. call that clean shred. not that dirty shred your dad listened to
adam bell and clean tap lol
My man acting like he never heard of Pat Metheny.
Some songs I kept expecting Yvette to break out into some heavy distortion haha
hell ye
Dirty shred your dad listened to… hahaha I’m your old weird uncle that’s gone to and still goes to all the killer guitars concerts and BUYS their physical products that put food in their mouths and pays their electricity bills. And that dirty shred inspired it all.
Saw them last night on New Orleans. They were amazing.
WoW... great musicians !!! Congratulations !!!
"Yeah, originally I just like wrote these songs by myself when I just picked up a guitar..." Amazing, really.
Saw these guys last night opening for Polyphia, I loved them so much
Fantatstic Bass player and drummer!
20:00 holy shit, the polyrhythms are so tasty. God damn. Yvette is unbelievably gifted in a way I cannot understand, but don't forget about Keith, that dude is a fucking monster. Great feel.
this is so dope
this got me speechless dude
this music reminds me that life is still good
This drummer has a real math rock sound!!
And he comes from a Heavy Metal background (but jack of all trades really).
Its not what makes you feel something
It's that feeling itself
This is truly some amazing stuff. I'll see them in Seattle.
Absolutely sick! Blown the f away. Great sound.
You guys rawk!
Both the band and Audiotree!
that was more amazing than stars vs. grains of sand.

Man they got sooooo much better with time. They're so much tighter now.
the groove that starts @9:04 my goodness
Brilliant!

Wow! Great stuff!
Amazing. I could hear "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" around the 17 minute mark. Xx
I hear that too lol. All of Hydra is a banger though
Yvette young Dear crush keep playing😘😍
Yvette young is such a rare a beautiful bird 🎶
This band is amazing but why the backing track???? Seems a good pianist would kill to play for this band
I believe it's because their guitarist Yvette writes and plays all the piano parts herself.
Thought the same thing
It's not so easy to find a band member. You basically need to live with them. Committing to a band is almost as getting married. Maybe they had some auditions but didn't found someone they think fits.
This is awesome
She is so adorable and BADASS all at once. If there is ever another LOTR movie, she must have a part.
who let the bass player leave the house in that hat?
*jokes*
"Alright listen guys, we gonna play some music and then we'll go fishing after that."
maybe he a farmer?
Just remember guys... this is the same man on drums as in the falkor music video.
That's incorrect. Keith left Covet before the Effloresce album, so the drummer you are hearing and seeing on Falkor is actually Forrest Rice.
@@noyd4172 Did Keith leave to play in his other band? Always wondered why the switch up...not that I'm ungrateful for Forrest. He's great.
AWESOME🔥💜
hail Hydra
Esto es muy bueno
Yvette, do you know Kai-ting Zhang of Elephant Gym?? Very much in similar musical aesthetic. But on bass.
A supergroup with Yvette, Kai-ting, and Nathan Camarena from Chon would literally be the single coolest band ever
insane, just positively insane
Perfect music... perfect girl!!!
astonishing
te amo yvette
groovy soul music
anyone know the make of her telecaster? is it fender body with aftermarket neck or. ..?
I wanna see her and Motifour Kida from Tricot have a guitar duel.
