Hope for breaking sinful habits?? There's no such thing. It's called repentance and turning from sin. There's no working it slow a little at a time or cut back. That's not how it works. The only way people can come out of their sin is through a real born-again experience with Jesus. It's not a do-it-yourself thing. Not at all. Salvation isn't even merited or earned. The power and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. It gives you new desires and takes away the old. Temptation is not sin once you are delivered. You can be tempted but that's not sin because Jesus was tempted in points the Bible says. The Bible says we can live a sin-free life. Jesus would never ask us to do something we were unable to do and Jesus told more than one person in the Bible to go and sin no more. He didn't say that lightly; he meant it because he knew through the blood power and the sacrifice that he made for all of us that it was doable and possible. The Bible says that without Jesus we can do nothing. So our deliverance and our success in him and to please him is all through his power and not of ourselves. Salvation is a gift from God. So there's no cutting down on sin. You get saved and you really have a born again experience asking Jesus forgiveness for your sins and for him to cleanse you of all your unrighteousness and all your sins and all of your disobediences and he will do it. You can't go back to your old ways of thinking your old ways of doing it will not work. You have to completely turn your life over to Jesus through a real blood bought, Jesus blood salvation experience. There is no other way. Then once you are delivered from sin you go on to receive the real baptism of the holy Ghost, not a counterfeit.
