The problem with Discord staff is that they have no idea when to be serious. Like, it’s OK for Discord to post funny ads on TH-cam or make funny loading screens, but you can’t just start a professional email with “Our fairies and elves are working our magic”

They're disturbingly difficult to recognize sometimes. He seemed like such a good guy to a few of us until we found out he was grooming an underage member of the server. I think it’s fine for a company to allow their employees to have fun, and the loading screen messages on discord are fine. All of the “cutesy” phrases they use in their emails should definitely not be the way they do things though. Emails should be professional and easily understandable, without all the extra shit they put in them.

English is my second language. So when they mix awful jokes and dead memes into their messages I have no idea of what the message is about. I run a large server and when I had a problem with a glitch they gave me an update saying something about "spoopy skeletons". Apparently that was them telling me my issue was fixed. Fuck discord.
You'd fit with one of my friends pretty well. His English is very good now, able to translate in his head super quickly (doesn't know EVERY English word though) but I make accidental spelling errors, it confuses him usually and he gets fed up and stops talking to me for a bit :D
What I hate most about discord is that you can be the nicest person in the chat and someone will still find a way to beef with you. Especially the mods.

When editing server bots and stuff I genuinely got confused. When the authorization menu popped up telling me what the bot would have access to, everything was fine, until I read the option that said something like "This bot will not let you draw the sword from the stone" or some other geeky thing. It threw me for a loop because for a moment I thought there was a legit problem.

They're disturbingly difficult to recognize sometimes. He seemed like such a good guy to a few of us until we found out he was grooming an underage member of the server. I never even knew he was married until talking about him with others after we found this stuff out. He hid a fair bit from me as it turns out. Really shook my preference of trusting others until they show reason not to.

My friends started moving to discord when it first started when we were still using Skype and Teamspeak mainly, and the first time I tried it and it was like "wumpus is pogging your wogger to over 9000" I was like this is not for me. Took me like a whole ass year to finally come over as Skype was killing itself.

@@darklight0528 Honestly whenever I start discord I cringe. I get it if it's like something really in-depth. Like if you have a fuckin turbo server or whatever. But your average dude who is using it as teamspeak but less shit (not saying much, teamspeak is just skype but less shit), shouldn't have to see quirky XD randem 'Constructing pylons' 'decerealinizing the database' shit the moment it starts on the loading screen. I actually feel uncomfortable starting discord with people around, because I don't want to have to explain the weird fuckin quotes or funni cow man wumpus being oh so sad people aren't online. Like I'm not 5, I don't need a mascot telling me everything because words are scary.

My only problem with discord is that every time someone calls me I instinctively just shit my pants, its just a god awful call sound and it comes out of nowhere sometimes, especially when you think you've closed it but its actually just lurking in the background of your computer

When editing server bots and stuff I genuinely got confused. When the authorization menu popped up telling me what the bot would have access to, everything was fine, until I read the option that said something like "This bot will not let you draw the sword from the stone" or some other geeky thing. It threw me for a loop because for a moment I thought there was a legit problem.
Same I was like "What the fuck does that mean?" And then realized that it was a joke... A very unfunny joke.
