    Hello PizzaMan, you've been to Tuweep and JumpUp Point. We like to visit both if possible. However, if you had to pick one, do you have a favorite. I know this might be hard because everytime I see pictures of either I'm just filled with so much joy. God has truly blessed us. If you get a chance, thank you. God Bless.

      I'd put Toroweap first -- you can look straight down 3000' to see the Rio Colorado. At Jumpup, the scenery is also impressive, but you're eight miles from the river there. Jumpup has no facilities, but Toroweap has tables and a restroom. Here's a couple sets of photos from our trips in 2009 and 2018: tinyurl.com/2p8xwxyj

      @@PizzaManagement God Bless! Wow! We shall zero in on Toroweap for sure. Everytime I see a picture I honestly "weep". Truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your pics. I doubt that I will stand on any rocks that close. No other words other than just spectacularly beautiful. How lucky we are to be able to see such a thing?!?

    Enjoyed the video! We traveled to Tuweep last year. It’s an incredible view.

    Thank you for this video. Very helpful. I think my Jeep Wrangler is up to the task. Also heading out to Schmitz Spring Trailhead.

    Which permits were required? I am finding very mixed info.

    • @PizzaManagement
      @PizzaManagement  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's been a while, but I think it was a backcountry permit from the Grand Canyon NP. That said, no one ever checked.

      @@PizzaManagement thanks for your response. I did the trail a couple weeks ago. I got the backcountry permit. All this time and still mixed messages from the people who should know from the customer service people, to the volunteers, to the rangers. The good news is the backcountry permit was allowed by both the volunteer and the ranger. But then on the way out I was told I'm supposed to have the park pass by the ranger as well. The lesson is: government is inconsistent and unknowlegeable.
      Thanks again.

      @@deadbrother5355 Sorry for the slow response, we were in Big Bend NP as well as eclipse viewing near Eagle Pass, TX. Hope there weren't too many other people at Toroweap. And the view into the Canyon is unmatched. I just had to look at maps and it looks like you enter the park about 1km north of the ranger station.

    How many and what kind of pizzas were ordered from that end of the world? Great video. I was hoping to see the Tuweep overlook at the end. Is the end of the road at the of the video or did the road keep going? Would you attempt it in a regular Subaru SUV with stock tires? or perhaps with special tires? NPS suggests a number of things beyond full-size spare tires.

    • @PizzaManagement

      Always deluxe pizzas with extra pepperoni! At the end of the video, we turn into the campground, but if you kept going straight, the viewpoint is another 3/4 mile. I'd say the road is Subaru-friendly 95% of the way -- if course all bets are off if the road is wet. I've seen SUVs parked where it starts to get rough (~2:40 into the video), then walk the rest of the way in (2 miles to the CG, 3 miles to canyon edge). There is no cell service out there, so you'll need to be self-sufficient. There are very few humans out there -- a plus in my book.

    Love the video. Do you think I’ll make it in a Dodge Grand Caravan? Ground clearance 5.8 inches. Have AT tires on. I don’t want to ask my husband, he may think I’m crazy 😜

    • @PizzaManagement
      @PizzaManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the road is dry, the Caravan can probably make it 95% of the way, then park the car and walk. After that, the road is 4x4 high clearance required.

      @@PizzaManagement thank you so much for answering my question. It’s on my bucket list to take pictures of the canyon from that area. How far would I have to walk?

      Just found this map. I’m trying to add it to my comment, but I don’t know how. About 2 miles of walking.

      @@renepoggenpoel1711 That sounds about right. The walk is over mostly slick rock, not difficult. And worth the walk.

    Did you air down your tires?

      Yes, around 20 psi -- how's this for a timely reply?

      @@PizzaManagement We're heading out there soon. From looking at the road, do you need to air down? Looked ok other than ups and down. But you were there. Do you think you could have done it without airing down? Thank you. And if you don't reply before we're gone that's okay. Thank so much for sharing. God Bless!

      @@rayc76knoxville I aired down for comfort, but because I needed to. It USED to be super silty, but they took care of that problem. The last mile or so you're driving on rock. Cool part of the world.
