I’ll always remember this game even though the buckeyes are our biggest rivals. I was in the hospital in Cincinnati with my ex wife who was very sick with preeclampsia and I was by her bedside watching this game, actually rooting for the buckeyes who I respected. It was an amazing game and upset. Jim Tressel was a fine coach and he really shut my team down for many years. This was some good football. These guys were really something that night.
2 Miami defenders laid a high hit on Krenzel at the same time late in that game and he walked it off no problem. OSU linebacker hits Miami's qb and my man couldn't stand and was falling over
I remember all the media saying that the Miami hurricanes were the best team ever.." faster than half the pro teams".. "Buckeyes have no chance"... LOl ... J.Tressel was KING back then..
I hate the buckeyes but to me this is the greatest national championship of all time. This was David vs Goliath, with Miami being Goliath. I was 12 years old and thought nobody was beating this Miami team. Unbelievable game
That brings back memories that Buckeye defense was tough man all those weapons on Miami and we basically smothered them! I won $1,000 on this game picked the exact correct score at the start of bowl season!! 31-24 I remember it like it was yesterday!!
Ohio State Buckeyes broke the Miami Candy Canes and they never were the same after this game. It was one of those years where the Buckeyes were destined to win the national championship. Their defense was phenomenal, offense was decent and Craig Krenzel was a very good game manager.
I was lucky enough to be in in the stadium for the game. There were a few Miami fans there, but OSU fans outnumbered them greatly. Fans were standing for the entire game except for halftime.
Miami fans always complain about the late flag on the PI. But go back to late in the 4th quarter, on the OSU 3rd & 6 play. First, Gamble is held by his jersey and then makes a great catch the refs erroneously called out of bounds. Miami never gets the ball back and the Buckeyes win in regulation.
Bull, 😂it was a great game that Ohio state displayed.. I can't deny that, but ask yourself. "The roles were reverse?" Regardless, that changed us collectively. I can't dispute the fact of mediocrity as a cane's fan, but regardless, these are the teams that make college football. These games, these types of teams, with these types of players. Coming from a cane's fan []_[]×5NC.
@@daequanshambley1621 Ohio State really milked the "underdog" label for that game, and the U had some all-time greats playing, but 24 players from that Buckeye team played in the NFL.
@@carseye1219its not that ohio state was that “underrated” its that this miami team was heralded as the greatest team of all time and that osu had no chance. Its easy to retroactively look at this game and osu’s roster and say “they were really good actually!” But nobody thought so at the time. Osu football has also since gone on to be a perennial top 5 team where as at the time of this game, osu had not proven they could win a modern championship and had not done so in 25 years.
@@josht5453 I seriously don't get your point. I was looking at it "retroactively". That was my premise, that if we had hindsight, it wouldn't be looked upon as that big an upset.

Maurice Clarett going over and taking back the Krenzel INT was the best play of the game. I’d never seen anything like it.
All time moment!!
Best heads up play ever!!!

Well said!
Never forget. David always defeats Goliath at the end of the story.

I agree...miami had so much more talent on their team

The greatest champ game ever played. Hands down. Miami went to shit after that. Buckeyes whooped them that bad
Good Call! Go Bucks!!
Did Craig Krenzel get drafted in the NFL!?
Yes he did get drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 5 or 6th round of the 2004 nfl draft.
FACT: Of the two quarterbacks Kris Kringle was definitely better.
Go Bucks!!
Go buckeyes
