After watching the whole video you'll understand why Hannah falls for Shane: he is funny, well mannered (did you notice how he says thank you for everything and being the first to say I love you?), smart and kind. No aggression, no bad vibes, no rudeness.

Thank you for doing that! My husband has taken care of me since I broke my neck in 2021. From full quadriplegia to being able to care for myself, he’s been there the whole time. That is an amount of love I wish everyone had. We’ve been married since 1988 ❤
"If I have a bathroom emergency, I can call Hannah's parents." That's so sweet that they'll help their daughter's boyfriend with things like that. I can't imagine how hard it is to be in that situation, and not have anyone to help you. I'm happy that he found Hannah.
they must be family of saints not just because they would help him but the fact they allow him to be comfortable enough to call them and ask them that shows alot about the way hannah was raised
If people are genuinely curious about why she is with him... just watch the way she looks at him. Genuine love and admiration. They are a power couple for sure!

People like you could never understand the depths of love they have for each other. So please, stop the slander for that is what this term is,, slander!
Nothing has given me more hope for dating than this. I have been experiencing so much social anxiety for years and especially with dating. I would ask myself if I can't be comfortable going out on dates, then how will I ever be able to stand in front of everyone I know and get married. This story has given me more hope than ever. I am gonna do everything in my power to become a better person and get control of my anxiety. Thank you for you guys sharing this story together.
@Camelot House Thank you, I really appreciate what you said. I have been watching all of the videos relating to anxiety on this channel and other channels and it has made me view things in different ways. I am finally going to see a doctor for the first time in 3 years for a regular check-up and I am going to discuss my experiences with panic and anxiety so I can finally get these feelings under control. I consider myself to always be a work in progress. I think that the day I tell myself, "I am now perfect." is the day I will stop improving myself. I want to continue to get better at everything every day.
@Camelot House I agree. And thank you. I wish you the best also. I think that it is so important that we try to do our best every day but also listen to our body and rest when we need to. One thing that I have realized is that when you have been trying your best for so long, the worst days that you face will always be better than your best days if you were never trying. I have learned this through talking to many people along the way, and learning from many people's mistakes that I know as well as my own. I hope you have a great day God bless you
I also have social anxiety, but this video doesn't help me as much as it should. I have a deeply rooted inability to gain the confidence to talk to people I'm not already comfortable with.
I am disabled. i know that burden syndrome. let's be real, it does take a special person to love someone who needs caregiving. I think those people deserve a lot of praise. Hannah you are an amazing woman and Shane you are a sweetheart! Beautiful couple! Love your TH-cam channel!!
I'm not disabled and actually quite envious of Shane (well, quite a lot actually). Hannah is absolutely incredible. Kudos to you two and thank you for this lovely video.
Shane is everything I want in a man. Cute, funny, witty, loving, straight forward, smart. I've watched you guys a few times. The love between you two is something to strive for
Omg same! While every loser in the mean comments is whining about Shane being a burden, I'm actually trying to think of why I've never met amazing men like Shane! I'm jealous of both of them for finding such true love 🥺

I found their channels a few months ago, and I always find their videos so enlightening, as I´m disabled myself. They´ve show me, that it really is possible for disabled people to find true love. Shane explained the "burden complex" spot on, I really do thing that every disabled person, does in same way, shape or form have a "burden complex".
First time I’ve ever seen your videos. I am in a wheelchair as well. I am a T 12 paraplegic incomplete. I was 49 when I had an accident. My husband and I were setting up a bookstore when a book shelf fell over on my back. It has been four years since the accident. My husband and I have had to go through a number of similar experiences it’s such a growing process. You make me laugh And I am very proud of both of you. Good job guys
I see these messages from people like you and the above gentleman, and I feel so not worthy. You are amazing people to have the attitudes that you do, and i can only look up to you all. I would like to ask you a question. What could a person like me..no extra money..no real skill or trade do to help or pitch into people in the paraplegic community?
Shane has a great Personality and has a big heart. Hannah has great loyalty and a very caring person that he could have. Wish there are more people like these two in the world to show that love is a powerful thing. No matter if you’re disabled, autistic, or anything. Every person in this world should be loved like this.
I believe that negative comments come from jealousy. I wish I had a relationship like this, I became disabled from an anoxic brain injury in 2017 and this video gives me hope and optimism that I can be loved in my condition. Thank you both for sharing your story!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but more importantly a person's soul is what should be considered beautiful by there mate because physical beauty is fleeting but the soul lasts forever.
Shane, you are a warrior. I have so much respect for you on how you deal with your disability. I had an incomplete spinal cord injury 35 years ago and I have it so easy compared to you. You are blessed to have Hannah in your life and Hannah you are so kind and patient. Much love to both of you and thanks for sharing your story, very inspirational.
I used to read Shane's blog all the time, and I only recently discovered his youtube channel with Hannah. He is always so funny, and I've never heard him talk about some of the things he discussed here. I was moved hearing how both of them discussed the concept of caregiving as a "burden" and learning how this myth has hurt him. For my master's thesis, I'm studying caregiver outcomes, and there is a huge gap in the literature regarding the positive effects/aspects of caregiving-- that's the one my thesis will fill, I hope! While most studies look at health issues and negative emotions caregivers experience (literally referred to as "the burden of caregiving"), this research is looking at things like increased self efficacy, positive attitudes toward life, feelings of self-worth and happiness, and a strengthened relationship with the care recipient. I hope this kind of research will help society understand it's not inherently burdensome for caregivers to be in a caregiving position. Their well-being can increase, especially if they have a strong relationship with the PWD. I loved hearing Hannah's perspective on this. Thank you for this video, and I'm sure it has helped destigmatize Shane and Hannah's relationship as well as his disability.
This is really fascinating. I love your idea on this. My mom was a Phd Exercise Physiologist and is now full time in the wheelchair (from MS) with one arm that works. Your thesis is relatable as I have been caring for my mother full-time for the last 3 years, which is ironically about the same amount of time I have abstinent from drugs. I’ve been on a massive journey of self-discovery and my mother’s affliction is offering me a unique experience to step up, be an adult and change my attitude, assisting me in becoming the person I want to be. I can’t begin to tell you the things I have benefitted from these past few years helping and being around my Mother. In EVERY ASPECT of my life I’ve grown but off the top of my head:eating healthier, to not cussing or yelling when I am angry, having a daily routine, being kind and consistent and maintaining a positive attitude are just the tip of the iceberg. Really cool idea I hope your research and writing goes well!
The light in her eyes when she’s with him is undeniable. This is beautiful. This also shows me (might sound corny but oh well ) it’s true if you truly love somebody & they love you , love can overcome many obstacles. Thank you for sharing . God bless 💛.
@@dianajames4717 oh the light in her eyeballs...omg these people will believe most anything. I mean right down to making sure he has his crackers before she leaves is like having a child. But children grow. Sorry
The way she looks at him speaks louder than words, every word he speaks her heart is aligned with his words. I think this is so beautiful and shows an example of what a real relationship is about. It’s ultimately about being selfless and ready to serve. To truly enjoy a person for who they are is truly a blessing. God bless you two.

Had me laughing when he said, “ coffee, coffee, coffee they are both warriors, so proud of them. This just shows that people with exceptionality’s like Shane do not let their disability defined them. I personally have cerebral palsy.
Take note people, this is what real love for someone looks like, this isn’t just the kind of love we should give to our loved ones but the love we give to everyone around us, imagine the world we’d live in.

I am chronically ill and need some assistance occasionally. Thank you so much for both of you speaking out about this. I often feel really down about needed help, but I know when I was more able bodied in the past I was pretty happy to give assistance to people I knew when they needed. I think I'm too hard on my self. Best wishes.
This is bittersweet to me, I admire their optimism and words of encouragemwnt but it’s still rare for a disabled person to find a partner unless they became disabled while in a relationship. I’m a woman in a wheelchair, turning 29 this month and I’ve never had a relationship, neither has my twin brother who’s in the same situation. My disability (Osteogenesis Imperfecta) is much less severe than Shanes and I’m pretty much fully independent, but people still can’t really get past the fact that I’m not completely able-bodied. I am fully aware that it’s a societal problem, I know my worth and know I deserve love but I also think it has helped me tremendously to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for the very likely possibility that I will always be alone. I spent most of my teens and early 20s beating myself down over the fact that I’d never had a partner, and I always felt useless and unattractive. I have tried dating countless times in different ways in the past, I’ve put myself out there but it has backfired every time and left me feeling even worse about myself. So again, while I do appreciate the words of encouragement and an example of a successful interabled relationship, sometimes it’s helpful and healthy to come to terms with the fact that you’re kinda just an incel for life and that’s okay too 😅 As long as you understand that it’s a problem with society (or ableism) and not you, I think it’s healthy to not get your hopes up too high because it’s truly soul crushing when those expectations are never met. I’m definitely open for a relationship if someone was interested, but because of my previous experiences I have decided to not actively pursue it myself.
Thanks for letting us know. I also think Shane has had extraordinary luck to have found not only one but even two/ several women who were open for a relationship with such a handicapped man!
I was with/saw a girl back when I was at college who had a congenital heart defect which meant she was unable to stand for prolonged periods of times or truly use her legs, like even 10 seconds + was very dangerous as she couldn't regulate her blood pressure correctly. She was wheelchair bound, and I never saw that as an obstacle and thought she was incredibly beautiful, she was really pretty and had nice legs, and she was quite nice. After some time I realised she didn't quite have the personality or the maturity that I wanted and went our separate ways respectfully much like any abled person would, it was independent from her circumstances. Over the next 15 months she had several partners and even one for quite some months, right up till she left. From my understanding she is now engaged some years later and has had her first child. For her it seemed she focussed too much early on in college on her disability and was also convinced it had her unable to find a partner, someone who valued her inside and out like anyone else but that just isn't the case. I feel like disability will of course lets be 100% transparent reduce your potential candidacy for many people, but just like anyone else the most important factors are learning to be a good partner and someone desirable and having attraction and working on yourself to be the best you that you can be, irrelevent to whatever ability you have physically or mentally. Perhaps you focus on your disability more so than anyone else ever does, and that's holding you back from really growing as a person and allowing yourself to be in a position where a relatonship is not just possible but will flourish and really create something beautiful. Never take that chance away from yourself, be it through anxiety, doubts or insecurity. I'm not suggesting that you set the bar too high, or set yourself up for failure, just focus on what could help with your success and doing everything you can to be your best self and hold on to the hope that you can be a better person and be happier, and in turn increase your chances of finding love. I appreciate it's hard, as an abled person (I did have severe learning difficulties, ADHD and Asperges growing up, I have fibromyalgia now too after chemotherapy treatment for a cancer 2 years ago, but I would still consider myself abled as my differences don't prevent me from any kind of ability IMO) it's still incredibly difficult to find a partner and love it took me 21 relationships to meet the love of my life, so I think your plight and struggle is incredibly commendable, and you're right in not ACTIVELY persuing love as that sets anyone up for failure. Just perhaps keep persuing qualities and improvements to your OWN life, so you're happier and perhaps more desireable to someone else, all while remaining as authentic to who you really are and leveling up your already wonderful personality. I think you're incredible whoever you may be, and you deserve a special someone and all the opportunties of someone else. Never give up hope, stay beautiful. Much love, from the UK
I really enjoyed your comment. Just to give you a different perspective. I’m a woman (52 yrs old). Never lived with a man, although I do have a son. He’s 24 now. Been in a few relationships over the years and all have left me completely devastated. If I could go back I would not date anyone. I’ve been alone for 15 years now and I love it. Never been happier. I don’t have any disabilities and I think I understand that people would naturally want to feel what it feels like to be in love. I remember when I was pregnant and I told my grandma the only thing I’ve ever wanted was my own family ( kids and the father too... not husband.. I didn’t need or want to get married) and she said “don’t get your hopes up” and it crushed me but she was right. Good luck to you. I hope you and your brother get everything you want and need out of life. Take good care ❤️
Being in a relationship, if you love someone you should never feel like a burden. This is definitely unconditional love. Bless you both. Makes my heart smile
People always judge what they don't understand. .. you guys are awesome. I too have a disability and my husband is a huge help. Love Needs no explanation
This woman is literally a walking angel for all this love she has towards this man and how dedicated she is to care for him everyday. Not everyone can do what she does, this is what real love is. She loves him unconditionally, like how a parent would
this sentiment is sweet but i wouldn't liken it to a parental relationship.. feels a little infantilizing of the romantic/partnership dynamic here. not to be controversial but humans should just be supportive of and take care of other humans that they care about, whether that's romantic, platonic, familial, etc.
@@detox9865 No i meant that it's hard finding a partner that loves you unconditionally. Everybody's very self centered nowdays. The only people who usually love you unconditionally are your parents but there are also rare cases like these, which is why i made that comparison in the first place. In no way was i trying to imply that this is a parental relationship, sorry if it came off that way
Have to comment even though I’ve been watching this channel for a while now but Shane and Hannah brought me to SBSK and I’m forever grateful for the community they introduced me to and that these interviews keep providing. Yay for comments!!!
They are married and trying for children now. I am sure they will raise loving children and grandchildren who will help care for them in their old age.
I live with an invisible disability (fibromyalgia). I'm married & my husband sometimes takes on a lot more of the housework & errands than I do. Just because someone is disabled, it doesn't mean they can't contribute to a relationship, family, or their community. When you find someone who loves you in spite of the harder times, you're the richest person in the world! I love Shane & Hannah for adding awareness to this. They're showing the world that everyone deserves, & is capable of, love... even if their disability is visible. You're both beautiful people, inside & out! 💙
Dude imagine.. Imagine being in that situation and an angel just comes into your life like that. You know everyone says "Im so lucky", but man. The universe is kind sometimes.
These two wonderful people are an amazing example of true love and commitment. It's refreshing to see that there are still kind hearted people in the world. I understand him when he talks about his fears. Your lucky bro I'm sure you hear it all the time. Never forget to always treat her with kindness and respect. I think she is irreplaceable for sure. I'd love to see them go on a trip to Disneyland together. That would be fun to watch as a viewer. I wish you both a happy and fulfilling life together. Never give up!

Handsome? Lmao People have really low standards about what is attractive these days. Of course everyone gets all offended, even if it's true just because it *might* hurt someone's feelings. 🤦🏼♂️
I’ve had a chronic illness since 11 & yet been married for 49 years. I believe the essential part of any long lasting relationship, with such challenges, is having a good sense of humour & and a positive outlook. Both Hannah & Shane have all that and more. I don’t see their relationship as one-sided. They give each other so very much.
I have been following this couple for a few years and I really appreciate how special and unique their relationship really is! It's easy to see how much love and appreciation they have for each other! ♥️
oh god, it's such a relief to know that people like Hannah exist in this wicked world.. can God just bless me with a love so deep like the one these two lovers have..
Thank you for being so courageous and posting this video! I think most of us who have any sort of need from someone I have a “burden complex”. Whether it’s an emotional need, or a physical need. It’s hard to ask for what we need from others. But having a compassionate partner can help us heal and ways we never thought we could You guys are so awesome together… And thank you for sharing that awesomeness with the world.
I've been following these two for years and years and adore them. You can tell Hannah's heart is made for something like this. When Shane says "we like experimenting with different breakfast foods and making breakfast together" and Hannah goes "we love to make scrambled eggs" - she never corrects him or says that SHE is the one doing these things. She doesn't question that it is a joint task. Regardless of whether it would bother me to do all the work, I feel like my slip of the tongue would be to say "I make breakfast for us" - not in a passive aggressive way, it would just be the way I would see and describe it. She's such a generous and kind person.
The mean spirited comments are SO out of bounds. Why do people think that it’s an absolute that someone like Shane is undeserving or incapable of relationships? Nurses who work in hospice typically don’t view their patients as a burden, they chose to take care of people in need of help. Shane isn’t a burden on Hannah and it’s shitty that so many people think you have to be a martyr to love or take care of a disabled person. Many spouse-caregivers don’t do it because they feel like they HAVE to but rather do it as a normal way of life with their spouse. Disabled people aren’t burdens.
@@nanmonstaway3599 I think she's referring to the comments people leave on the couple's TH-cam channel. Shane and Hannah read some of negative ones in this video.
It's sad. It shows their bigoted attitudes towards disability obviously. But it also says to me that they themselves don't believe it's possible to be unconditionally loved for who they are-- that they feel love is something you have to rent from someone and pay for with the social capital you're bringing to the relationship. That's a sad, insecure position to be in because anyone can lose things like good looks, money, or ability in an instant.
You are both such beautiful examples of how human beings are supposed to treat one another. Its easy to see how genuine and truly loving you both are. The world is a beautiful place because of people like you.
I've done caregiving for elderly people a couple of years ago and some elderly make you walk 3 steps back and 1 foot forward for certain tasks that it was frustrating and made me not like caregiving. But this couple definitely showed me that if I ever fall in love, i best be damned I'll love that person even if they fall ill. with all my heart.

Don't get married bc it's expected of you. Get married bc you live the other person...err at least for money.
I can relate. I have too much anxiety to date.

You can be loved, just don't expect someone who is beautiful
And that's what these two morally corrupt individuals cash in on: your hope. They're morally corrupt scammers.

I would loved to know more about your research. As a partially disabled person, this myth has become a big part of my fears in dating!

So again, while I do appreciate the words of encouragement and an example of a successful interabled relationship, sometimes it’s helpful and healthy to come to terms with the fact that you’re kinda just an incel for life and that’s okay too 😅
As long as you understand that it’s a problem with society (or ableism) and not you, I think it’s healthy to not get your hopes up too high because it’s truly soul crushing when those expectations are never met. I’m definitely open for a relationship if someone was interested, but because of my previous experiences I have decided to not actively pursue it myself.
Thanks for letting us know. I also think Shane has had extraordinary luck to have found not only one but even two/ several women who were open for a relationship with such a handicapped man!
Love will find it's way to you. All the best.

I think most of us who have any sort of need from someone I have a “burden complex”. Whether it’s an emotional need, or a physical need. It’s hard to ask for what we need from others. But having a compassionate partner can help us heal and ways we never thought we could
You guys are so awesome together… And thank you for sharing that awesomeness with the world.
I'm looking for those comments but I cant find them
@@nanmonstaway3599 I think she's referring to the comments people leave on the couple's TH-cam channel.

If you think he's decent looking, give him a shot. I'd bet money he has a secret thing for you if he says stuff like that. That's a guys icebreaker for finding out love interests
pessimistic peoples consume you and nobody want to be around one, even if he or her is good looking.
@@seanmusser6002 what do u mean .. ??
My mom has MS and boy howdy I felt that narrow-doorway navigation in my *soul*. He said “I have been doing that for a year, still have not nailed that turn”, some turns just be like that 😂 they’ve got great attitudes.
This couple exemplifies the best in humanity. God bless you both!
I love this dude. Definitely has a good sense of humor and swings with all the punches of life that it gives him. I commend you and your girlfriend's strong bond.
Looking back at this . Knowing they’re now married and thriving makes me so happy for them!
I've checked nation wide they have no marriage license or certificate.
They fooled you .
@@surprise3479 a little bit cringey but if it makes you happy good job on the hunt.
@@surprise3479 - There are states that do not make marriage documents public for some time, like New York State, for example. 50 years there plus both spouses have to have died.
Do you have a link to their pages. I am technically challenged! Lol!
can i get to know you?
Hanna and Shane are relationship goals. Some of us have more needs than others. We should ALL remember we deserve love and that our needs aren't a burden to those who love us.
It's something every able and disable person needs to remind themself.
Thanks for the lesson ya'll! I look forward to finding your channel if ya'll have one and watching more about your life togther. I seriously need to learn some things about a healthy relationship from you 2!!!!
I love this so so sooo much! And what he said at the end, how we can all find true love -someone who loves us as we are, that’s it’s possible… I so needed to hear that! I stopped dating for almost half a year after being used despite trusting the man, it’s put me off dating. But seeing your beautiful relationship makes me realize what a real relationship looks like, one based on true love, and that I too am loveable. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us guys!! You two are adorable (and both very attractive)!!

I think Hannah is the lucky one...with Shane's charm and rugged good looks he is a show stealer....
@@alexk3469 I don't think so man...check out their channel. A genuine love there between two people.
You both take care of each other in different ways, and the unconditional love between you is absolutely beautiful ♡ Thank you for being so open and real with the world. Your relationship is an inspiration to others and your dedication and willingness to helping others understand your way of life is not only heartwarming, but also super admirable, and you do it all with class ♡
It's called unconditional love, people. Something that is very hard to come by or even to provide for someone else.
Thank you so much the positive vibes 💕Your video made my day!!!!
Wishing both of you the best
@lonely wanderer hating troll lol
When you care alot for someone (spouse, parent, child, etc) and they're disabled or become disabled, trust me you get great satisfaction in taking care of them.
Have the most beautiful life. They really do compliment eachother so well, that's love
You two could change the world! And you are changing many people’s views on special needs individuals. What an inspiring video that you are sharing with us! Thank you so very much for your love, your courage, and your life!! You are both such an inspiration and a beacon of hope for others who may be facing their own challenges every day! They truly do love each other. Oh my gosh it's so precious and beautiful. He is so wonderful to her. I wish all men and women were so sweet and kind to their mates.

@@puertoricanprincess2272 why ASD? Or why confidence boost from couple living a happy life alongside disability?

She's the dream girl for every right person.Just a perfect one.❤️
they both seem so sweet and funny! hope they have many more years together happy and healthy
When she said she doesn't get tired of him I thought, wow that's true... His disability makes him a better person bc he's more patient and positive than most people. We should all be as positive as these people!
"Alright, time to pee, get out of here you sickos!" Lol this guy is consistently hilarious
Thanks for this insight into a day in the life of Shane and Hannah. They are doing a remarkable job of educating all of the rest of us who take so much of what we have for granted. ❤❤❤
This guys has my exact type of sense of humor loll that dramatic, some what crude humor and joke telling what an awesome guy and personality
She is such a kind and patient soul when it comes to the caregiving aspect. I dont think I'd be able to do that. But he seems to make it fun and easy for her. Not that it is anyone business but of course my mind goes to "Can they make love?". Lolol! What a fun couple, I'm definitely going to follow their channel.
Yes they can and do.
I love how transparent Shane is about all aspects of his life. That helps to understand him and his disability better.
Oh my god..she really loves him. This world is so dark. I feel it all around me. To see these moments of innocence and pure love. I feel warmth in my heart. You both are amazing❤❤❤
🙏💜
“i think i want a different shirt” “welp, too late-“ LMFAO
Definitely one of the best videos of this channel, this is heartwarming af
I can listen to Hannah and Shane all day long I just love them together they are so cute and funny
I love these two! I watch their channel. Lots of love and genuine care for one another.
It’s so sweet to see the love they share. I’m sure that if Hannah was in his condition, Shane would take extra care of her as well. It takes a very special person who can show such compassion to others.
This is real love. Just ignore those who are negative.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful life together.
You are a blessing to so many others. Thank you. ♥️🌹♥️🌹♥️
