The saddest part of Cayde's stash recordings is that To his death he had thought that Zavala and Ikora never truly saw him as their friend and had thought he was alone to the very end
@@cazikelposharkymd618 It would have been funny if his message to the Guardian was a tad different if they were a fellow Hunter. Especially as his Dare was that who ever killed him would inherit his Vanguard position.
Bad Karma I heard them a bit differently. For Zavala, he knows that he would “do what had to be done” regardless of how he felt about it, and that he’s absolutely the type to hold on to blame and guilt, so he addressed those in a tone he wanted to be remembered by; not accusing or angry, but mirthful and cheeky. For Ikora, it was a bit more measured. He knew her just as well as she knew him, so he wouldn’t get away with the same audible grin. Instead he told her what she would need to hear at a time like that, from someone like him, “Thank you, and if ever let it get into your head that I hated you... you’re wrong.” That is to say, for almost half of his “possible” killers, he held nothing but certainty that while it hurt them to do it, on some level, it would have been necessary, and on another level, that they might question such after the fact. And what kind of friend would he be to let that be his legacy?
Ironically, Ikora seemed to connect with Cayde as a friend most. Maybe she saw him as a brother like she sees Zavala as her family? It’s bittersweet that some Guardians create a found family after having been resurrected.
But thinking that we the silent strong type the community that loves him, the simple thought of not having a back up that must people hate him to point of murder is just dishearting
You have it wrong, actually. In the case of Deep Stone Crypt and Taniks, yes, it was hate. You have to keep in mind what he says to Hawthorne; it's all part of being a Hunter. Mostly, I would assume that the Red War kind of acted as a "Memento Mori" of sorts. It reminded Cayde that while he was powerful, he also had a weakness that could be exploited. He had to be prepared for a worst-case scenario; his final death. These caches you find were made recently, after Ghaul's defeat. In fact, if you understand Hunter behavior to any degree, you would see that these messages were made from a Hunter's perspective, with a Hunter's idea of how they would die and who would kill them. If anything, Cayde likely didn't believe that most of these would happen, DSC and Taniks being the most likely. And before you say "Petra's came true", it actually didn't... in a way.
Exactly. It wasn't Petra's intent for Cayde to die, in fact if it hadn't been for Uldren and the Barons, Cayde would have mopped up that riot and gotten back in time for some super spicy ramen.
@@Foxxie0kun Cayde didn't even have to be there. Petra didn't ask for his help, he went to her because he was restless. He wasn't killed for any personal reason; he was killed because he was there, because he got in the way. He was killed because he engaged dangerous enemies without backup. He died like a Hunter; in way over his head.
We can say a lot about how purple kojak lady is bland and everything... but that was really moving thing about them. She didn't have much of character development but she showed her self when it truly mattered.
its also sad that when you finish ace of spade quest and return to banshee, he will usually mention "dont forget cayde", after a while of his dialog, he will say, Hey wheres cayde? his havent been around much. damm thats hit my heart
“You know, there are so many stories where the hero sacrifices their life to save the day. And because of their sacrifice, the heroes win, the survivors all cheer and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that happy ending. They never get to see if they actually saved the day. In the end, they’ve just have to have hope... Aint that a bitch?”
What gets me is that Cayde honestly thought Ikora didn't like him, that she didn't consider him her friend. When in reality, Cayde was probably her closest friend after the fallout with Osiris. You don't call for razing the entire Reef to ashes over a mere aquaintance after all. I just hope that, if there is an afterlife in Destiny, Cayde was finally able to learn just how much he meant to Ikora
I can only imagine Guardians on mass just going on a witch hunt for Uldren. It would create even more factions for those who want to spare and those who want to incinerate Uldren.
With the right tools we know that a human could kill a guardian with a final death. Ada-1 granted a few final deaths with Izzy. Anyone could use a thorn to down a guardian. That’s how that sniper shot killed his ghost, a charged bolt from a Thorn full of pure darkness
Now I understand what Cayde meant by Long-Slow-Whisper. In the Deep Stone Crypt the darkness statue actually produces an eerie whispering when you stand below it.
Bolty so the “You” part isn’t on females don’t know why but kinda doesn’t feel like the same impact but with the “You” it feels as if he is speaking beyond the game to the real flesh and blood meat bags playing the game
Joe Murillo I think it’s saying he believed our character would be the most likely to be the one he knows how major our guardian has been so we’d be the one to kill him over others he didn’t think the others cared much for him due to how he is reckless and how he didn’t follow rules as mentioned in the video and he probably didn’t really think his enemies that probably logically the most likely to kill him so maybe this answers your question if not eh I tried
Cayde has always been my favourite character and watching him die in that quest wasn’t very pleasant, watching him argue with failsafe always makes me laugh
@@vikemosabe the main campaign stuff where you first meet failsafe and all that is gone but nessus is still here and the nessus strikes are still there, and forsaken is still in the game as legacy so I guess just complete that to experience it.
That last bit where he had a message for us, broke my heart. Cayde has been around forever and was one of our main characters. And for us hunters, we had a strong bond with him.
I looked up to cayde when i started playing destiny and remembering his death still puts pain in my heart and though i wish cayde-7 will be a thing if there ever is a new destiny game i know he will never hit as much as cayde-6 did rest well king may you rest in peace not to be disturbed.
Cody Miller that’s was tied for me between Banshee’s and Ikora’s reaction. Seeing that neither thought that the other saw each other as friends but in reality that they deeply cared one another made me so sad that both weren’t able to tell the other how they felt. R.I.P Cayde-6
I saw something about Banshee 44 being on his last years. During the Caydes Will Quest, It really occurred to me how true that is, Be a shame for Banshee to go too
Figuratively killed me I was in denial until the second it happened I was so sad but one other thing that saddened me was that it happened in a trailer and then I had to have that clenched on to the exciting new release of forsaken I miss Cayde he was worth hanging around in the tower for even though I was a titan (d1 Cayde was hunter only) now I’m sad that that mission was so fun and exciting I wish Cayde lived.
Cody Miller I have a theory that it’s because you redrafted the ace it triggered a memory of Cayde in his very damaged mind so he thought he was still alive
Ikora’s is definitely the saddest. Her dialogue after the end of the campaign reveals she really had a soft spot for him, and his recording shows that he was pretty close with her, although they never really connected or realized their friendship.
Goodbye Cayde. I'll see you starside. I am legit tearing up. Cayde was arguable universally liked, and for some, loved. I wish Cayde knew how much his friends cared for him. The fact that he thought his own fireteam could potentially kill him is heartbreaking. Rest easy hunter, we'll watch your back.
“Every story has an end. This is mine.” This was not only the first time I’ve cried over a video game. It’s the hardest I’ve cried in my memory. Rest In Peace, old friend. You will be missed.
@@jbmovies3454 however much I hate the idea, it's in the shop. I forget it's name, but it's currently in the archive in the ornaments part. You'll find it easily, the cloak is distinct as hell for obvious reasons.

I can just imagine, with all these messages he left, Cayde just sitting back in a chair, legs kicked up on a desk, talking to no one but the recorder before him. Some he's laughing about, others he's more serious about, and actually takes his feet off the desk to speak and address some. To me, it feels like that fits Cayde's character.
Someguy1237 Yea, I’m pretty sure he made hundreds of them. Just that these 10 are might be the most important to him because he left them with his Ace of Spade parts
He wouldn’t be call Cayde -7... Cayde always thought that 7 was an unlucky number and if there ever is a Cayde-7 in the Tower, he wants you to shoot him.
Marcus Ren would be a great video. I’d also love to see a video on the Guardians honored in the Solstice armor - maybe as part of a large video telling the stories of all the non-famous, everyday guardians.
As a titian, I never saw Zavala as my vanguard representative. Both he and Ikora were always so serious, so quite, and so resolute and determined. While these features are essential in a leadership position, you also need to know how to smile, laugh, and relax. Cayde-6 embodied all of this and more. He was the air beneath the wings of the last city, the joy that could be felt through her streets as the days bustled on, and the happy content peacefulness of the empty and quite streets as the moon rose and shone brightly on humanities one last vestige of safety. As a kid, I saw Cayde-6 as the hero he was, lifting the city, it's people, and the guardians that protected them to new heights. He knew how and when to make us laugh, he knew when he should be serious, and he knew how much the last city meant to everyone. He protected not only the city, but the hope it represented with his last and dying breath. I like to believe that when that cold lead ended his life that fateful day, that as his light was snuffed out, it brought the hope, determination, and fire to new rising guardians. This new light would serve as a reminder, nay a promise, that when darkness feels all consuming, that when fear strikes into the hearts of the innocent, and the good, that a shining light, a beacon of hope and virtue will rise to the occasion. Cayde's death may have sunken the tower, the last city, and every guardians heart deep into an abyss like none other, but in his death he serves as a beacon to aspire to. We guardians should strive to be as good, as noble, and as righteous as Cayde. This is why forever and always, I will see Cayde as the vanguard that best represents not only myself, but us all. For when humanity is in it's darkest hour, Its bleakest of moments, it isn't our light, our power, or our vaults of weapons that will see us through, it is our hope, our ideals, and our inner light. Cayde understood this, he saw the finite aspects of life, and accepted them. He saw the demons that crawled forth from the black pits of hell, and fought them with every ounce of his being. He saw the threats that surrounded him, and yet through all of this, through the pain, the sorrow, and the unknown, he held hope for the last city, for his fireteam, for the guardians, and for humanity. As the light died out in Cayde's eyes, a fire was lit within our guardians souls, it serves as a reminder to always burn bright, not only for ourselves, but those who are absent. Cayde-6 may be lost, but he will never be forgotten. May the waves of time wash over us, but never erode the name, the legacy, and the memory of Cayde-6. Those who are lost, are never truly lost, they are merely removed form our physical world. To lose someone completely is to forget them. Those who are remembered and honored, truly are immortal in the eyes of the world around them. Never forgotten, always remembered, Cayde-6.
I’ve always held a… morbid curiosity about how Guardians process death - the kind you don’t return from. Then I saw the faces of those mourning Cayde. The Farm practically came to a standstill. The old boy charmed the pants off the place, and it showed. Death binds us all together, whoever we are - Guardians and non-Guardians alike. Now, what say we pour one out for our old friend, ayy...
It`s nearly impossible for bungie to permanently kill Cayde-6, he must come back, he was favourite character of most of the community. If he won`t appears in Destiny 3 or even comes back in Destiny 2, Bungie would`ve lose many many of players because of it. We don`t khnow how they`ll do it, maybe ace is some kind of second Cayde`s ghost ( you khnow how it was : ace was actually a friend for Cayde ), maybe some ressurection for his body and a new ghost. Hey, he`s exo, there are ways to bring him back. Bungie would lose to much players and money if they would permanently kill him.
@@Avuls To keep destiny alive? When he died Destiny didn`t get many new players, speaking exactly - Cayde-6 death didn`t bring any new players to destiny 2. You`re going to use some facts or talk about "he`s not coming back because he won`t come back"
Hearing Cayde's last words for both his enemies, and his friends is truly... heartbreaking. to think that Cayde even entertained the idea that his closest, and dearest friends could kill him, or that he might turn for the worst... it makes you realize just how alone, and broken our Hunter Vanguard was. I'm not crying you are! Please make a lore vid about Marcus Ren! You're awesome Byf, keep up the good work!
Just like in real life when a person loses someone close. The hurt never goes away, you just eventually learn to live with it and keep pushing forward. But the pain will always be there, lingering around in the back of your mind and occasionally creeping back to the forefront to remind you of what you've lost, but with any hope it will also motivate you to keep strong. For them.
Though they were only meters apart, in there minds, they were separated by eternity. She, a warlock, possessed by rage, anger, sorrow. All these flowed from her, and one could almost see the energy flow from her. He, a titan, his own emotions unreadable across an expressionless face, as of daring the other to speak a challenge. His word propelled the conversation forward, as if speaking what had previously been an unspoken challenge. “Say it.” “Cowardice.” The words, spoken with such malice, shook the very foundation of the tower. None knew it, but for a single, solitary moment, the fate of the tower hung in the balance. The man turned to the canvas. “I will not bury any more friends.” “You won’t have to.” A third voice enters. A change in conversation, with each word a bullet. “Uldren Sov. Is. Mine.”
Can't lie, this mission.. killed me inside. I don't know if it was because it was Cayde that died or because I just love this game and have played it since Alpha but... it cut me deep. Especially his message to Ikora...then to us.. You will not be forgotten Cayde. Real or not. You and your character impacted my life forever. We'll take care of Ace.. See ya around buddy ♤
I finished the Exotic quest earlier today and when I finally got the weapon and Banshee told me not to forget then. He asked “anyone seen Cayde?” That honestly made me very. Heartbroken. Like even when I got the fabled weapon, it was not a victory. Because for me to GET this weapon. I had to lose Cayde, I’m a Warlock but I could relate to Cayde as a character a lot. Being happy go lucky but deeper down is. Alone. I’ll miss him
Well...he was notorious for being rebooted...44 times (The end of his name)...another time wouldn't have been to surprising...and you lose your memories when you get rebooted
Thatdudetony_ I felt the same way, I got the gun but felt wrong to have it. Better in our hands than anyone’s but, still didn’t feel like I deserved it. I almost cried when I said to accept the ace of spades and banshee was already forgetting our beloved friend
I havent obtained the weapon yet due to me not having Forsaken, the Thing is Im afraid that I enjoy my current Exotic more then any Hand Cannon...although I would never dismantle that Gun...it deserves much better then that.
This is why I am chewing through "Cayde's Will", he's a character I fell in love with. Hell, even feel obligated to make sure I get his Hand Cannon, if only to see if it is as good for me as the SunShot ;)
I find it funny that at 6:57 , when byf pulled out the sniper, the thrall took a couple steps back before charging forward again. That proves that the Hive are either cautious or startled by the action, or, at least that's how the A.I. works.
Ever read the lore of the Vex, The Vex even for a game the A.I. For them actually is incredible and fun fact The Vex could wipe out everyone if they wanted to, we couldn’t stop it even if we tried, they are the most powerful thing in the solar system and they have the power to turn you into Vex by infection which is another fun fact
You are such a phenomenal narrator. And this story (Cayde-6) is the second time in my life where a videogame made me cry. Rest in peace, Cayde. We all miss you.
You know what makes a good peice of writing? It's something that deep down in it's roots that it feels, real... not "believable", as if it's fake, but, _relatable._ *In memory...* *Cayde-6*
"This one's for any Hunter who kills me. Best guess: Marcus Ren? You realize you get my stuff now? ALL my stuff. INCLUDING the Hunter Vanguard gig. Yeah, congra-tu-lations, dummy. That's what we call a Vanguard Dare. Sucks, doesn't it? OK, brace yourself for some advice, hotshot. One, know your people. Like, my Nessus scout, Quantis Rhee. I like to call her about once a moon, else she gets a little too much Night, not enough Stalker, you know? Two, keep your weapons sharp. Your job's to watch everyone's back, which means no one's watching yours but you. And three, start thinking now about what you want to do for your successor's Vanguard Dare. 'Cause trust me, kid - *this gig will kill ya."*
So I just found something, on the Class item for the Prodigal armor set, the description of it mentions 'Paladin Oran" and says "Use less data, route electron notices forward over Uranus-Neptune divide." might be nothing but I thought I would point it out since I just noticed it, but the first letter of each of the words spells out Uldren found
Probably not because some titan and warlock players will complain by saying how come they are a leader of a class and we're not also a vanguard is suppose to stay at the tower most of the time so yeah there's that most likely the character will denie the roll because they fill most likely feel uncomfortable of taking up the role of there just dead friend
Not exactly. Cayde's dare only goes as far as who killed him, meaning Uldren. Even though we killed Uldren, we wouldn't be the Hunter Vanguard because that was not Uldren's dare, and Cayde's dare only applies to the one who killed him.
Caydes death actually chokes me up (especially when he says "I'm coming home ace" which was apparently his son in a past life) and it's sad to see him go but at least he made peace with it, he knew his time would come and that hunters must watch their own back. He knew we would avenge him and also had the time of his life in the PoE before he went down. He didn't get betrayed and had a long and great life with great people. R.I.P cayde and his blue horn.
When I first played Destiny 1 I fell in love with Cayde and eventually made a Exo Hunter cause I liked him so much. Named him Ares 1 cause the guardian gets rezed at the beginning and forgets everything so I considered it a reboot. Playing through the game as a Hunter was fun and when destiny 2 rolled around I remade Ares 1 and with the opening being similar I named him Ares 2 said something like "Bad luck got him yoinked and his Ghost had to save him again. When Cayde died I felt it was fitting but I was pissed and distraught. I felt the same way Ares 2 felt...Burn em all
I have a similar story with my awoken hunter. Made the same character model and played the same class and considered that she got killed by crota as I never got the dlc on d1 and was raised by the traveler to save the red war
He had been human, and he had a wife and son, but he became an exo, losing all his memories. He doesn’t remember his wife and sons name, but he knows he had one. He remembers his son as “Ace of Spades” and his wife as “Queen of Hearts.”
At first I hated how they killed Cayde. The thoughts going through my head were “ what are u doing you just killed off the fan favorite and most interesting voiced character in your series” Now I kind of know why they did it.. at least why I feel they did it. They wanted a story of vengeance, but if it wasn’t Cayde, who would be motivated to kill Uldrin for any other reason? No one cares about Zavala or Ikora... but Cayde.... everyone loved Cayde.... I for one felt like I was out for blood playing through the campaign because it was for Cayde
@@edmdemonz8167 Nathan (cayde voice actor) hadn't said any of the lines in forsaken and bungie never reached out to him ask him for the lines. When Nathan found out Cayde was dying in the story there wasnt much of a point to stay anymore since his character was dead. He said he'd come back if Cayde came back or if Some sort of cayde 7 appeared.
I like Ikora sort of but probably not enough to go out on a full vendetta against her killer since whilst I liked her a bit, I didn't have that emotional connection like many did compared to someone like Cayde who just had more personality. Zavala though, I never liked the guy and the Warmind campaign only solidified more that dislike.
I totally agree. Each time I fought one of the Barons, it felt personal. Especially whenever they said something about Cayde, I was almost screaming at them to shut up and it felt good when I finally killed each of them. Honestly, I feel like Bungie should have given the player the choice to kill Uldern or not.
I understand forsaken came out a while back but every time I use the ace I feel like I wheld the power of cayde like he has my back and when he says every story has a end this is mine I cry Eris get your rock off my map -cayde 6
Genuinely broke my heart when Cayde died. And then when I did this mission it was I nearly cried. I find it amazing how Bungie manage to make us care so deeply about these chary
I.. don't know how i feel about that mission.. watching this video on it... made me really know how much cayde meant to me.... even if he's just a game character... people can have idols that don't exist... but cayde... this video literally brought me to tears... the thing is though... never once did i feel hatred towards uldren.. nor did i when fighting the barons... i just felt rather sad.... it's hard to just lose someone who you feel you've known for like 5 years.. sorry for all the dots.. i feel it shows the emotion..
I agree with you I’m not mad at uldren I feel sorry for him because riven used the love he had for his sister to get him to do what he did I pity uldren actually
Wow... A grown man cry. Cayde's death is the new Aries from Final Fantasy VII. That moment when your Guardian is with him before he finally... "folds" Jesus, I was in bits. To that Last mission when you finally get to Uldren, that cut scene.... Screaming at the screen.."Pull The Trigger!!!!" Just like Caydes words in his video, Last Stand, He is coming home Ace. I was also yelling the same thing at the screen. At first when Uldren got ate by that Lovcrafitan obomination i was pissed because i didn't figure I'd get the satisfaction of killin him myself. But so fucking glad for the cut scene after that.
Does it seem strange that the drifter is the only person cayde does not thinks killed him He even thinks we might kill him but doesn't accuse the drifter
@@BotLaneTaken he believes he would have been killed because of his association with the drifter, either by one of the many enemies they made together, or by the man with the golden gun before he got to the drifter
Been 4 years and still miss him. I can only imagine Cayde interacting with Nimbus and Rohan. His determination in wanting to stop the witness after potentially seeing it again. RIP good buddy
If I am correct, Enceladus is a moon of Saturn. If so, Cayde 6 wrote that he was created on a moon if Saturn, one made of iron and ice. Conveniently, Enceladus is also a moon, covered by ice. So what I think Cayde means here, is that the facility he was created, is on Enceladus. Maybe we'll find other exos, maybe a Cayde 7 there? Who knows
Xavier Lau well in his expired ramen message he did say there will not be a Cayde-7 and I believe byf mentioned somewhere else that he has been rebooted multiple times and decided to stop counting after 6. I hope we get to see the human version of him, and see them make a copy off of it
I think maybe that because "Enceladus" is an important place for exos, then someone could tip us off that there may be a way to get Cayde back through some backup server on the moon. Or... Stop someone from creating a new exo army and blow a hole in the walls, creating a new Battle of Six Fronts, or Twilight Gap. I want that map to return, btw. Twilight Gap. Vostok is... Not cutting it.
You could talk about the enceladus cayde mentioned in this mission. Or his relationship with the drifter. Cayde doesnt have to due as long as there's people like you keeping him alive. Thank you byf
Enceladus, for anyone who doesn't know, is the sixth largest moon of Saturn. Considering it's proximity to the rings of Saturn, and how the Dreadnaught was on the B-ring of Saturn's rings, it could possibly be some continuation to something from Taken King? Maybe? I mean, Cayde had a huge impact to Taken King, and how that TK was a huge impact to the story of Destiny, with almost every possible story from D1 and D2 being connected to it. Like, how the outbound signal from the Dantalion Exodus VI reached Ghaul and the Red Legion. Or how the Shrine of Oryx we destroyed was connected to Oryx himself, serving also as a broadcast from Crota to Oryx, and how now, Forsaken is a continuation of Taken King in a way. Maybe a possible new DLC? Maybe, as old members of the Destiny community will put it, a Comet?
Well, shit. Cayde, the beloved hunter vanguard dies and devastates the game's community in the best way possible. It's really unfortunate that he had to die for all of these possibilities and extensions of lore to come to light, but it was handled so well. It allows other NPCs such as Ikora, Petra, Banshee, Amanda, Failsafe, etc. to actually develop and be related to by the community. I can't tell you how many people I've seen that have sympathized with Ikora since Forsaken's release. We got a bit of insight into the new mysterious character-- The Drifter-- who actually seems interesting, and a bit of insight on how Cayde really was on an emotional level. That happy-go-lucky jokester was simply a layer of personality that was covering so much sentiment. His passing is so bittersweet, and it doesn't feel right to say it helped the game, but it REALLY did. One character's death has driven the story, opened up completely new passageways to lore that was previously unexpanded on, given so many other characters a chance to actually develop, and inflicted very powerful emotions on us as players. Rest well, to my Vanguard. These past 4-5 years have been one hell of a ride. Definitely one of my favorite characters from ANY game I have played in my lifetime, and one that I don't imagine I'll ever forget.
I don't think that the Drifter's plan is as simple as Guardians using Dark objects. He seems like someone playing a third angle. Hive convert Light into Darkness; what if the Drifter plans on inverting the process?
I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT "ITS ON ENCELADUS" SINCE THIS MISSION FIRST SHOWED UP FOR ME WEEKS AGO On the subject of "ITS ON ENCELADUS" I truly feel that we'll be going to the Deep Stone Crypt in the next DLC (Yes, Black Armory) and here's why. Most of us know at the end of vanilla D2, the cutscene depicts the Traveler's light spreading throughout and even beyond the galaxy, the scene plays out in this order. Earth, Mercury, Mars, The Reef, Saturn, and then even further out The Darkness. At Saturn most people assume that we'll be returning to the Dreadnaught as it is a prominent shape in that scene, but there are two other celestial bodies in that scene. Namely Titan, and you guessed it, Enceladus. Could the Black Armory itself be IN the Deep Stone Crypt? Or Adjacent? Time will tell, I personally think that it will be on its own ship in the Orbit of Saturn. I also feel that what's been going on as of late in the Dreaming City directly links to the Black Armory content. Just after the Last Wish raid was completed and the Dreaming City became cursed, we were treated to a new Quest. Broken Courier. In this Quest we are tasked with going after Relics containing information about lots of things, but the main thing that's mentioned is "Scehmatics to weapons beyond your understanding.." I also believe that on Enceladus, deep in the crypts lies an all but dead Cayde, the original Cayde. In the flesh, frozen in Hibernation.
Personally I feel like the Black Armory is itself The Deep Stone Crypt. Since the 'Armory' could be a reference to how the Exo's were originally created as war machines. This could also bring the Splicers back, cause Exo's are linked to both The Crypt and Clovis Bray, which then links back to SIVA, meaning we'd get a continuation on SIVA and the secrets behind Deep Stone Crypt in one go.
Wait if cayde is in hibernation, maybe there is a way to revive him and reunite him with ace, I feel like that’s what cayde 6 would want for his original version.
now THAT would be a ballsy move for the destiny team, but it wouldn't make sense. why would Sundance make the EXO Cayde a Guardian instead of the original?

That message, and the message to us, just hit different.
She really considered him one of her closest friends, and it hurts like hell to know he thought she didn’t want anything to do with him
Ironically, Ikora seemed to connect with Cayde as a friend most. Maybe she saw him as a brother like she sees Zavala as her family? It’s bittersweet that some Guardians create a found family after having been resurrected.
Ikoria also said that she considered cayde the only real friend she had.
"Any last words?"
"How's your sister?"
Cayde died the way he lived, inflicting sick burns
Those were the last words of a god.
we don't ever love uldren so he can die in hell
*Drop live grenade when killed*
Rest In Peace old friend
What does that mean.
Seeing how Cayde-6 thought everyone hated him is absolutely and truly heartbreaking.
But thinking that we the silent strong type the community that loves him, the simple thought of not having a back up that must people hate him to point of murder is just dishearting
No it isn't, he's a fictional character.
It was so sad to me - that Cayde couldn't see just how much Ikora valued him as a friend.
That one got me..so sad!!

She is a badass when she needs to be
With the right tools we know that a human could kill a guardian with a final death. Ada-1 granted a few final deaths with Izzy. Anyone could use a thorn to down a guardian. That’s how that sniper shot killed his ghost, a charged bolt from a Thorn full of pure darkness

The most heartbreaking moment, for me, is still when you collect the Ace of Spades from Banshee and he asks if you have seen Cayde around recently.
Cody Miller that’s was tied for me between Banshee’s and Ikora’s reaction. Seeing that neither thought that the other saw each other as friends but in reality that they deeply cared one another made me so sad that both weren’t able to tell the other how they felt. R.I.P Cayde-6

His message to our guardian is surprising emotional
Marcus Ren would be a great video. I’d also love to see a video on the Guardians honored in the Solstice armor - maybe as part of a large video telling the stories of all the non-famous, everyday guardians.
Andrew Gass yeah those armor stories was great and very sad just shows the loss that the city took
Yes here's to cayde may his golden gun never lose its firey touch.

Technically Uldren should become the Hunter Vanguard, since ya know hes a guardian now
Not exactly.

*tries not to cry*
*cries a lot*
My favourite character from Destiny since D1 launched.
I know this was the best game character I have ever seen in a video game a they killed him instead of any of the other characters
When I first played this and it got to the last recording I full on cried
Le SpudMush same
The entire mission was just a massive feels trip
Oh yah, this just hits you in the gut
The guardian clip also made me tear up 😭
Le SpudMush Wah
In the last scene he tells Ace "I'm coming home" Good story line would be another ghost hidden in Ace
Mick Rogers He’s not talking about his hand cannon. He’s talking about his son.
Ace is the name of his son.. Cayde actually used to be human.. and had a woman by his side and his son.. which he named Ace..
Let’s.....let’s go....and get ace back😭😢😫!
He had been human, and he had a wife and son, but he became an exo, losing all his memories. He doesn’t remember his wife and sons name, but he knows he had one. He remembers his son as “Ace of Spades” and his wife as “Queen of Hearts.”
Ace was his son, cayde had a wife but his life went downhill from gambling so ge became an exo
I am somewhat shook that The Colonel is canon
Tyler Wolfguard go to Cayde’s old spot in the Tower, there’s a feathery Friend waiting for you
Forcer you actually have to beat forsaken to see him because it’s implied that the i am blue reject had him
i hope she becomes infused with light and the first chicken guardian
she was in a cutscene though???
@@MorayNZ and then becomes the Greatest Hunter Vanguard that ever held the traveler's light.
It's been nearly two years and I still cry as I watch the light leaving Cayde-6
At first I hated how they killed Cayde. The thoughts going through my head were “ what are u doing you just killed off the fan favorite and most interesting voiced character in your series”
Now I kind of know why they did it.. at least why I feel they did it.
I also heard the voice actor to cayde quit but im not sure though
I think people would have cared about Ikora, definitely not zavala, but Cayde was universally loved by the player base.
My wife just asked me why I'm crying so loud...I point to this video and she rolled her eyes...they just dont understand
Divorce her
she has no heart
They'll never understand.... sign the papers
My wife’s a gamer 🙏🏻
@@millionshadesofdarkness2165 went from 13 to 12 inches sheeet I'm still good lol
I understand forsaken came out a while back but every time I use the ace I feel like I wheld the power of cayde like he has my back and when he says every story has a end this is mine I cry
Eris get your rock off my map
-cayde 6
winterwolf65814 z with those that we have lost we will always have with us
Genuinely broke my heart when Cayde died. And then when I did this mission it was I nearly cried. I find it amazing how Bungie manage to make us care so deeply about these chary
True, Bungie is my favorite game company
I.. don't know how i feel about that mission.. watching this video on it... made me really know how much cayde meant to me.... even if he's just a game character... people can have idols that don't exist... but cayde... this video literally brought me to tears... the thing is though... never once did i feel hatred towards uldren.. nor did i when fighting the barons... i just felt rather sad.... it's hard to just lose someone who you feel you've known for like 5 years.. sorry for all the dots.. i feel it shows the emotion..
Screaming at the screen.."Pull The Trigger!!!!"
Just like Caydes words in his video, Last Stand,
He is coming home Ace. I've never known a video game character that impacted me as much as Cayde. Scoundrel, Lovable Rogue And all round Good Guy!
"Folding was never an option"
Maybe one day your light will shine bright again. Enjoy your time with Ace.

Yup, im just crying reading the comments, i'll be balling when i hear it in person...
I will be the proudest i have been in Destiny to get Ace...
Felt good when they did too been wanting that guy dead since meeting him in d1
Aeris*
Till all are one

I was also yelling the same thing at the screen. At first when Uldren got ate by that Lovcrafitan obomination i was pissed because i didn't figure I'd get the satisfaction of killin him myself. But so fucking glad for the cut scene after that.
Does it seem strange that the drifter is the only person cayde does not thinks killed him
He even thinks we might kill him but doesn't accuse the drifter
Anthony Jackson He supposedly fought beside him
There was a cache for the drifter, meaning he believes the drifter might kill him
But in every other messages he reminds the listener that they killed him, but he never reminds The Drifter and kind of infers someone else did it.
@@superbob24 He probably doesnt believe the drifter ever could. Tricks or not.
I miss Cayde so much.
"Every story has an end.. "
"This is mine"
That always gets me.
Who knows
I hope
Certainly sounds logical.
Xavier Lau well in his expired ramen message he did say there will not be a Cayde-7 and I believe byf mentioned somewhere else that he has been rebooted multiple times and decided to stop counting after 6. I hope we get to see the human version of him, and see them make a copy off of it
@@cloudsavior5296 Yeah, I'm just still in denial after his death. Maybe we'll get recordings, of his transformation process from man to exo
“You are my favorite.. don’t ever forget that”
- Cayde-6
Haha I haven't heard anyone mention a comet in years!
Definitely one of my favorite characters from ANY game I have played in my lifetime, and one that I don't imagine I'll ever forget.
im not crying, youre crying.
I don’t care how long it’s been. It always hurts to know how Cayde always felt alone. It’ll be good to see you again buddy.
I don't think that the Drifter's plan is as simple as Guardians using Dark objects. He seems like someone playing a third angle. Hive convert Light into Darkness; what if the Drifter plans on inverting the process?
Bit late on a reply, but aren't you converting light into taken energy when you use the motes?
@@Jiffles No the motes are little bits of darkness, they are called motes of darkness
Well considering the lumina questline, you might not actually be wrong considering that’s what we just went and did.
Whats up? I subbed like twenty minutes ago and see this in my sub feed. Posted thirty seconds ago? That's lucky
Welcome to the gang.
I was actually surprised to see the deep stone crypt mentioned in this
Why? They made the exo's, he's an exo.
Clovis bray made exos, the stone crypt trained them to be cold hearted killing machines
Here to reminisce and seek comfort after the departure of our beloved Commander.
Now come back to rejoice
I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT "ITS ON ENCELADUS" SINCE THIS MISSION FIRST SHOWED UP FOR ME WEEKS AGO
On the subject of "ITS ON ENCELADUS" I truly feel that we'll be going to the Deep Stone Crypt in the next DLC (Yes, Black Armory) and here's why.
In this Quest we are tasked with going after Relics containing information about lots of things, but the main thing that's mentioned is "Scehmatics to weapons beyond your understanding.."
I also believe that on Enceladus, deep in the crypts lies an all but dead Cayde, the original Cayde.
I doubt we'll be going to Enceladus in Black Armory. Instead probably in the fourth DLC next September.
Good theory
now THAT would be a ballsy move for the destiny team, but it wouldn't make sense. why would Sundance make the EXO Cayde a Guardian instead of the original?
Lore Master Byf. 🙇 RiP One-Horned Hunter Cayde-6.
There will never be another unicorn such as him.
After hearing the message to us I literally cried remember how Cayde died.
I legit started crying when he said “every story has an end, this is mine”
