My doctor put me on Statins years ago. Developed muscle pains so he tried me on other Statins, the pain persisted, so I walked away. My doctor is nothing if not persistent, and sneaky, and he keeps trying to sneak them back in. How much of a kick-back are the doctors getting? Anyway, eventually developed Type-2 diabetes and I am angry as Hell! Developed prostate cancer, had my prostate removed with all that that entails, and I am wondering! If, or when, there is a class-action lawsuit I want to pursue it! I have lost complete faith and trust in the Americal Medical Association (AMA)! You have to stand up for you because your doctor may not! Don't be afraid to tell them "No!" Boy, they don't like to hear that! Stand your ground!

      After a heart-attack, aged 57, l was prescribed statins.
Before long, l had incredible muscle pain:
I couldn't sit, stand, walk, lie down or basically do anything without pain. And pain that was worse than the heart attack itself.
So l threw them all away, and within a few weeks all the pain had gone.
This was 2009 (14 years ago) and l've been fine since

Almost instantly, his mobility took a nosedive - it was terrifying. He stopped taking the statin, we have changed his diet and he has an ayurvedic drink (raw garlic, whole lemons and turmeric) every day. His bad cholesterol has gone down, so have his triglycerides, and his good cholesterol has gone up.

I was prescribed this statin, within a matter of weeks this drug effectively turned me into a decrepit old man. Muscle pain joint pain, unable to get out of bed without assistance, required help to get dressed, required help to get up out of a seat. I phoned doctor and told him I was stopping these tablets before they actually killed me. It took nearly 2 months for my body to recover from these tablets. Doctor has tried to get me onto another Statin but I have refused point blank. I have said I am not going to risk taking those tablets again, clearly they are worse than the problem they are supposed to alleviate.

Do not see your doctor, you will be put on another medication. Stop being lazy, research alternatives that have no side effects. If you trust your doctor you will put your health at risk. My 66 year old brother was given beta blockers for high blood pressure, they destroyed his kidneys and he developed bladder cancer. That's a great swap for high blood pressure and because it's a doctor prescribing medication it's legal. Don't trust your doctor

    • @justkidding9751

You failed to mention Statins block Alpha GPC, this is an enzyme produced by the liver and is used for cognitive support and stored in the hippocampus. When this enzyme is blocked the brain will sacrifice good brain cells to manufacture it's own Alpha GPC. Also you failed to mention the reason for muscle pain, it's because it also blocks the production of enzyme CoQ10 which is also produced by the liver, this will lead to muscle dystrophy. It's criminal what big pharma is allowed to manufacture and it's obvious this damage is deliberately being done. Statins should be taken off the market as should you for not disclosing what I have mentioned.

Two different statins that cause me to lose muscle to the point I was hospitalized. I will not take it--I eat the things I need to keep cholesterol stay within the norm. I was so dumb: I was eating salad without dressing and boiled shrimp which I thought was good seafood. The doctor laughed and said, "shrimp is full of cholesterol". I thought I was eating healthy, but I was raising my cholesterol so high that I needed a medicine. We really are what we eat. What a system. 🤔

Tell your pharmacist not to fill that prescription that you don’t want. No need to waste it, it will wind up in the trash and eventually going into the earth. Also, many wind up having to pay co-payments for medicines they don’t use, or possibly if you get other diseases and hit the platform that you are allowed to spend… now your are putting yourself in a possible situation of paying for other medicines.

It tastes great it lowered my cholesterol, and I started losing weight because it really fulfills my appetite. And I don't get hungry again until 12 or 1. Then the brain fog came, like a mix of dizziness and lightheaded. I'm a bus driver so this drug was seriously affecting my ability to work. The last straw was when I developed vertigo. I stopped cold turkey, took a few days for vertigo to clear up. About a month for all other symptoms to subside. Before that, she put me on Terazosen for prostate. Same problem, low BP, dizziness, feeling sick all the time. I've since decided no more scripts for me. Both my parents made it to their 80s and never went to a doctor. They walked everywhere and never needed mobility scooter or even a cane. Keep moving forward and stay healthy.

A doctor(I can't say "my doctor" because I rarely see the same person twice),advised that I take Atorvastatin as a precaution, about six months ago. I have since developed hip pain which I never had before, but at 77, and having been a keen sports player well into my sixties, I just thought it was almost inevitable that I would get hip problems at some stage. It never occurred to me that a medication could be the problem! Having watched this video, I'm going to stop taking the medication, and see whether my muscle pain around my hips decreases, or even goes away. I have a strong suspicion that it will, and if it does, look out NHS!

About six months ago I began having difficulty walking and getting up from a chair etc. My muscles in my proximal limbs got weaker and weaker and about six weeks ago I was diagnosed by my Rheumatologist with Statin induce necrotising inflammatory myositis. I am now having to take steroids and methotrexate, and will have to remain on these medications for some considerable time. I hope to go into remission. I feel very let down by the medical industry. I have to say you are being sensible. Most of our GPs know what is right for us, it is like anything in life you can always get a bad apple' or two. I too lost my Father when I was very young, he was just 58. With the knowledge we have today regarding heart problems and the massive strides forward in treatment we should be thanking our lucky stars! Some of the symptoms experienced could be coincidental and when pain has gone away because you have 'stopped taking the statin' that pain could return eg early onset (new) arthritis.....yes, ask what your GP thinks, listen/research and decide for yourself.

My partner and I were both advised to go on statins - not because of anything really bad/high, but because the NHS are pushing this action apparently to save money down the line. After 2 weeks we both developed serious wet coughs, chestiness, wheezing especially when lying down, and breathlessness. We eliminated other potential causes from our house (eg liles!) but neither of us got any better. After 2.5 months it dawned on me - the start of statins more or less coincided with the start of our sickness. After 3 months on statins, and nearly 3 months of severe coughing, etc, we both stopped taking the statins. Instant (within 2 days) easing of symptoms and after 2 weeks all is fine. Doctor agreed to this experiment and I think it's case proven. No more statins for me to reduce what wasn't in any case 'very high cholestrol').

The only reason why statins are being pushed by the Big Pharma on low broadline cases is because they lowered the threshold for perscribing people onto statins for life and other drugs to counteract the side effects which increase profit for the companies that sell this. At the end of the day ,there is no profit to be made in healthy people. I myself fell into this lowered boarderline category and recommend to go on statins, after a couple of months I started getting severe back pain and muscle leg cramps.Doctor suggested to try a different type of statin I said no thanks and came off them.Since

Was put on atorvastatin few years ago by stroke team to prevent me having another stroke. I experienced severe muscles pain, couldn't even walk. They changed it to other statins, the same thing happened. Finally they found out I was allergic to Statins and all were stopped. I've been fine ever since. Remember I never had any high cholesterol in my life, they only reason I was put on it, was to prevent another stroke, they couldn't determine the cause of my stroke, it happened while I was in hospital with Covid19 during the first Covid19 pandemic. The only thing I'm taking now is just aspirin, that's all.

I got to the hospital they gave me the shot that dissolves blockages they said they think I may have had some kind of debris or cholesterol blockage and put me on 80 mg atorvastatin. However my blood test showed my cholesterol levels were all normal but nevertheless from being scared to what happened to me in the back of my mind I felt I had to take them yet so many thoughts about was this related to my covid vaccines. I recently had a blood test my quest draw was 107 which is actually great. I noted in this article warnings for low thyroid, could lead to diabetes which concern me when I got the recent blood test I asked my physician to see about getting me off of it because I felt since my questro levels were perfect why should I be on it any longer

I was prescribed simvastatin in 2008, with an almost immediate effect of aching knees ankles and hips. Stopped after 7 days and then commenced on Atorvastatin low dose, with the same result. I have AF and hypertension. My doctor left me off stating until 2023 when my cholesterol increased. I was commenced on ruvastatin. I was okay for a little while, then the muscle weakness and aching limbs began. I have never felt more ill in my life and honestly thought I was going to die. Eventually I felt physically ill when it was time to take the tablet, I decided either the Statin or hypercholesteraemia was going to kill me, and the high cholesterol was less painful. Never again.

Following a coronary 12 years ago, I was prescribed 80mg Atorvostatin, (along with blood thinners etc) I developed sever muscle pains and far more debilitating memory loss and cognitive impairment, - cardiologist changed my statin to another oil based one, same result. Was told I was statin intolerant. About a year ago was offered the newer water based statin, Rovostatin, and have had no side effects, might be worth checking with clinician re the switch from oil to water based - good luck, Gus

"Water-soluble statins include rosuvastatin and pravastatin. Fat-soluble statins include atorvastatin, simvastatin, and lovastatin. Drug solubility may be a consideration when deciding on statin therapy"
Nothing to lose and everything to gain, - sure turned my life around, - in my own case the amount of oil based, ie. Atorvostatin was irrelevant, - I was intolerant to it, period, - the water based one I'm on now works differently and no problems with it, good luck and let me know how you get on if you get a chance, fingers crossed for you🤞 warm regards, Gus 👍

Doctors shouldn't torture their patients by massively overprescribing. No one should be told to take one tablet daily when two tablets per week do the job without side effects. Statins are only for those who have low HDL and high triglycerides, no one else needs them. What people should be told instead is to stop eating sugar, processed carbs, inflammatory foods and stop using plant oils and margarine, but switch to a natural human diet that was the norm until American Big Pharma decided to make people sick so that they would need more meds and so the propaganda of high carb and low saturated fat and meat started. And Big Pharma bosses and investors have been laughing at gullible health professionals ever since, and making billions just from statin sales.

Recipe for the drink I make for husband as quite a few people have asked. Please note - I found this online, adapted it slightly but have NO MEDICAL QUALIFICATIONS -so try it at your own risk.
I get about 8 whole lemons, ideally organic, and scrub them clean, and a whole bulb of fresh good quality garlic (don't peel the garlic, just break it into cloves, there is a helpful chemical reaction by including the skin). I slice off both ends then quarter the lemons and remove the pips but keep the peel on. I started by mashing the lemons and garlic all together in the food processor and then sieving out the juice but it takes ages, so I bought a juice extractor and now use that. I dilute the result slightly and add two dessertspoons of powdered sweetener (you can omit this, if you're brave ...) and a rounded dessertspoon of turmeric powder. It keeps OK in the fridge for a week and my husband has a small shot glassful with his breakfast (after it's had a good stir...)

My cardiologist then, as well as at the present, has had me on a a daily dose of 40 mg of Atorvastatin. From time to time I have mild but manageable muscle aches from this drug. My cardiologist wants me to stay on this drug indefinely. I saw him two days ago and discussed this at length

Atorvastatin was absolutely fine for me. I started taking it OTC as my father had two heart bypass operations and my cholesterol was high. It worked to reduce cholesterol dramatically without side effects. Then my doctor prescribed a 'cleaner' statin Simvastatin. Within 6 weeks I had painful and permanent calf muscle/nerve damage. I persuaded the doctor to switch me back to Atorvastatin and then later to the newer and better Rosuvastatin (Crestor). Cholesterol now about 3.9. Muscle problem is permanent though. No worse, but no better either, though Gabapentin has helped a lot.

Was put on Atorvastatin whilst in hospital to have stents fitted - within 24 hours of starting it I came out in a horrible rash that spread over my entire body and my tongue and throat swelled up so that I could barely breathe. Refused to take any more and the rash and swelling started to ease - 9 months on and the evidence of the rash still remains - left me with blotchy, dry, itchy skin which I had never had before. Avoid this statin at all cost….

Great overview of statin medication, which seem to be an increasingly common prescription these days. Are there any natural ways to reduce cholesterol without drugs?
It's likely that the brain impact on cognition is being under-reported, especially in elderly populations. Rates of dementia are forever increasing. Thank you for these insights 🙏

My doctor gave me this Rx but never told me what they were for. Supposedly, I had a minor stroke (to this day it is debatable). I did notice a slight loss of memory I never had before; I just thought it was because of my old age. Now this makes sense. Years and years ago a doctor told me that they make a “commission” if they can push a drug. I never forgot what he said. Even if I am physically fine now, I feel intimidated by doctors who try to freak me out if I choose not to take a certain drug. Of the three drugs I am taking including Atorvstatin, he cut them to ½ the tab one by one and rotating them so we can find which one is the culprit in making me feel like I am drunk all the time. I love those days when I forget to take my meds and boy do I feel great! Because I’m brainwashed I’ll take em.

Because I did not know what it was; I trusted that the doctor was watching out for me. It was way later that I questioned another doctor and she told me that it was for high blood pressure that I didn't know I had. I slowly discovered that if I want to know who, what, where, when and why, I have to put them up on the witness stand and start questioning, otherwise, they rarely told me what they know.@@averywatlington5263

3 years I took these evil tablets . Excruciating muscle and bone pain. I cut down to 20mg instead of 40, I was told I had a mini stroke 3 years ago, but I'm not sure I did. As nothing on a CT scan but was put on those, I got as I could hardly walk a step without severe pain. I cut them out altogether, never felt as good!!!!. I will not be cohersed into restarting them EVER .. my toes are all numb and I get pins and needles in feet and lower legs . I think it is the after effects of the statins. Doctors won't say this as they are the biggest drug dealers ever . Get paid phenomenal amounts of money to push them. It's so wrong .

Switched from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin nearly 3 months ago because I was having severe muscle cramping and sleep disturbance with Simvastatin… both symptoms have improved and muscles cramps almost completely. It’s a lower dose too. Have my first blood test son to ensure cholesterol levels are being maintained safe. Hopefully it’s doing it’s job and I can say it’s been a positive move to change to Atorvastatin

I was put on these by my cardiologist after having a stent inserted, and my hair started falling out. I called the cardiac nurse and she agreed it was a rare side effect. My doctor took me off them to see what happened to my cholesterol. My cholesterol level went down slightly and I’m still not taking them.

Taking a holistic view of health, it is important, I believe, to not focus just on a tree and forget the forest. Meaning, there are a number of major factors that determine our health. For example, good nutrition, exercise, good sleep, healthy relationships, not smoking or drinking, keeping mentally active etc. Just focussing on cholesterol, taking a statin and ignoring the other ‘trees’ that make up the forest ( your health) is meaningless and you will just end up spending more money not only on regular check ups to endure the statin is not harming you but the need to seek medical assistance for other preventable illnesses brought on by inactivity, poor nutrition, mental illness and so on.

i've been taking atorvastin for 22 yrs. and have been reading /hearing these claims for almost the same period. i have never experienced any of these claims, for any period, for which i could claim there was a connection. i guess it is all about individual and personal experiences, and not carte blanche. The big problem for the general public is---there still, after decades, isn't any official conclusion or agreement among the world top medic's or research establishments
