HOW I WRITE A SYNTH POP SONG- Future Islands style

In this video I share with you guys how I write a synth pop style song like the band Future Islands. It's been a minute since I've incorporated synth, so this was really fun to make. It's difficult for me to explain the chords I am doing because, well, I don't know the names of the chords haha! But, maybe in the future I will take some lessons so I can understand exactly what I am doing haha.
I want to thank you guys for your artists/band suggestions! It is because of you guys that I look forward to making these types of videos. I know some of these songs that I write don't always come out sounding like the actual artists but that's the beauty of this process! Things don't always go according to plan. That was both beautiful and sensational. The lyrics definitely came from somewhere deep; hopefully not too deep. Remember, it's just a pop song and we're not attempting to change the world. I really enjoyed the snippets of video interspersed throughout the presentation as it adds impact and also pizzazz (also funny!). Very creative and intelligent approach to the songwriting craft, and also great to see that the age of the multi-instrumentalist is here... you're just not reliant on synths and software. Woo hoo!
