  • Recently, Schindler had to replace both drive chains on 2/4 escalators at my Macy's store. I was able to get all of the footage in this video while the store was still closed. The first escalator they worked on was the up escalator from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. The next one was the down escalator from 3rd to 2nd. I took videos every day for the span of about 2 weeks. I'd say my combined footage was pretty good! Enjoy this video!

Very awesome and educational. This shows some clips of how to replace an escalator drive chain. I clean elevators and at one time I used to clean escalators at what was the Famous Bar store at West County shopping center. Montgomery can sometimes let the store customer know that the escalator is about to start or stop by the light flashing before the escalator turns off or turns on.

Glad you enjoyed the video! Also, I didn’t know about the light feature some Montgomery’s have. Thanks for telling me about that!

Everything looks so clean inside. There's a pair of Otis escalators for the Skywalk in Wells Fargo across the street from me that are always getting vandalized by people throwing garbage cans, palm tree plants, and God knows what else down them. The poor Otis guys have them apart at least 3-4 times a year and the plenums are all rusted out from all the crap assholes throw down them. It was cool to see what it's supposed to look like here.
