Thanks Todd, I've gotten interested in a woman almost half my age..she cuts my hair so it's tuff being on blast for every conversation.. she was throwing some hints at me for a long time.. so I asked her out.. and she said.. I might have to take you up on that.. the next haircut I walked in and she acted so relieved to see me and carried on about how she thought she had lost me and that she might never see me again.. well with that button pushed.. rather than shut my mouth and let her chase me.. I sprung open like a cheap suitcase.. I just had quit smoking so the anxiety was at 100% .. I didn't leave anything for her imagination.. I threw it all out there... a week later I sent her flowers.. even knowing it was the kiss of death.. then she went cold when I went in again.. now.. she's trying to put it back to where we are laughing and poking fun and bantering again.. and that's happening pretty well so far.. but I keep trying because I really like her.. and she had said she really liked me but that she had just had a bad breakup from a long term relationship... I still want to go out with her ... but she knows all my feelings.. so there's no challenge to her... I'm lost.

Marvelous content dude. After getting back into the field after a 3 year relationship, I've been getting better & better again. I find my sticking point is openers (showing intent & making it man to woman). Because "I thought you're cute" has shown to not yield that good of results (percentage wise).
I've still been having some good results with "I like your vibe" etc..

So, generally you want to open and then for the first two minutes do 90% of the talking .Usually then the set hooks, as in the girl starts contributing to the interaction. This is a rule of thumb, so it may vary girl to girl. After that , doing something like freeassociating about various topics and vibing helps. Exercises that help with that are joining an improv course and talking to the wall for two minutes at home.

This is pretty much my Game and format now as someone who's been coaching for years. But I have no issues with someone using canned openers until someone gets on their feet

In your daily life, talk with everyone!
Man, woman, child, young, old, CEO, cashier, etc. Your goal is to get them engaged or smiling or whatever. Even if it's small talk.
Eventually, you'll get so good at it, you won't even notice that you're doing it. And you can imagine how it will greatly, massively improve your ability to talk to anyone, including the girls you like.

We need a good archive of just "sound bites" for interactions. "The community" has really avoided canned lines because when that's all you have, you become robotic and/or boring. I was walking on the street i see this girl looking at me from the car window passing by. She was waiting to turn the corner but had to wait for the cars to go by before she turned the car.
