Would like to know, when applying for a course at BVC, is it better to apply for a course related to your college major or your work experience? I graduated nursing but worked in an insurance brokerage company for most of my career 😅 I do have 2 years experience as a nurse in a hospital but I went back to the office for higher pay.. I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should take a business related course versus health related courses. Been thinking about taking Medical Office Assistant Certificate since the Practical Nursing course is currently closed to International Students.. Hope you can share me some tips or any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏

1) What is more important to you, to do work that makes you happy or to do work that makes you more money?
2) which career path lets you achieve that? Is it nursing or insurance?
I think you have good background for both I mean you have a degree in nursing meaning you are professionally trained to be a nurse. You are also experienced in insurance. I think both professions here make a good amount of money because insurance here is monthly and legally required. Nursing is huge too because of good health care here. I have friends who are nurses and while hours are crazy, the pay is good naman too.
I think whichever you choose will be a good decision. 😊

Hey there! :) While there are marketing programs in the Philippines at various schools, I think it's important to note that Canadian education is different. By this I mean that culture is diverse, major industries vary, and business practices differ. I wrote in my SOP that I will be taking up this program to learn exactly that, and furthering my studies with Canadian education will allow me to become more globally competitive in my career choice. New ideas, learnings, and developments will strengthen my knowledge and capabilities making me a more productive member of the industry I will choose to be in.

Hi! I’ve seen mixed reviews about BVC, would you say that it is worth studying there? How was you experience with collaborating or in terms of having group works with other students, was it hard?
Hello there! I think it’s worth it if you really take advantage of the freedom to choose your classes, the events, and all the other perks offered by the school. In terms of group work, I would recommend working with people who have the same work ethic as you. I personally don’t like working with strangers because I have a specific work flow. I would still recommend studying at BVC though!

Hi! It really depends where you’re coming from but both schools have their own train station so you get down right at the campus. However, SAIT does have a waaaay prettier campus. It’s so much bigger! 😁
Hi Anika! Just want to ask your opinion. I have a Master's Degree in Pinas. I am planning to take a post secondary diploma course (Legal Assistant Diploma) however, I am hesitant since the program is a bit of a downgrade. Nonetheless I really like the program and as a lawyer, I want to know new trends in our industry globally esp on the technology aspect.
Would you recommend me taking Legal Assistant Diploma even if it is a downgrade?

Honestly, I would recommend going for the program that will allow you to pursue the career you want here. I know that it’s a downgrade but we have to start somewhere. We have to slowly build our career again here starting from scratch. However, given your masters degree, you may be able to pursue even higher opportunities than a diploma? You may want to consider that! Also, the program will be easy for you with your experience so just think of it as an investment to come here. You will also learn a bunch of stuff - I like to say, never stop learning! I like to learn a new thing everyday 😊

Hey there! Thanks so much for that! BVC deducts that on your first semester’s tuition. And no, there’s no health fitness center on campus :(

Hi Jocelyn! The college just announced a couple of days ago that it is merging its Digital Marketing program to the Integrated Marketing Communications program. This is why my major changed as well, and because IMC had more interesting courses in line with the career I’m preparing for. Some classes in this program have been infused with Digital Marketing stuff so it’s definitely a way better program in my perspective. Best of both worlds! ❤️

I brought my own! But it’s waaaay cheaper here so I would recommend to get one here 😂

Hi Suzette! It depends on the internship but they’re usually paid. The one I mentioned is per hour but I’ve seen some that are allowance based too 😊

Hello my friend, i just want to clarify about the first sem tuition, you didnt pay it while u are still applying, u pay it when u are already canada when u are starting studying and working right?
For the first semester, I paid for it before the first day of the semester started 😊

Dear I have a question , I have original transcripts and diploma and I can certify them and then scan and send it however the website it says your official documents should be sent from your high school !! I can’t reach my high school as I am in another country, do they accept scanned copies or no , please advice me thank youuu❤

Hi Riza! No, books are not part of the tuition yet as well as access to some of the class platforms (Wiley, Pearson, McGraw) these are all extra fees on top of the tuition. 😊

Ask ko lang po sana apart from an english proficiency test, did you take another test pa po ba as an international student like a college admission test or GED test? I went to their website kasi and part daw po ng acad requirements for my chosen program. Di ko lang sure if ganun din po for international students. Thank you po! 😊

Hi, do you know about design jobs in there? I’d like to go to design diploma next year in sait and I’m wondering that there are many jobs in web design flied in Calgary..? I googled junior design or uxui designer in there but very a few jobs were there. It’s hard to decide which college should i go since i want to apply pr visa after get a job. Do you think should I go to other city like toronto if i willing to study and get a job as a web (graphic)designer?
There are so many tech jobs opening now. In terms of design, I haven’t been seeing so much but there are so many offices opening in the province that will provide more jobs. Toronto would be good as there are more opportunities but competition will be crazy high! Calgary would be a good starting place to adjust to Canada and settle in, once you’ve established a work history and built your experience here, you can venture out to other provinces 😊 That’s what I’m doing anyway ❤️
I want to get into the business administration supply chain diploma program. While applying I could only select Business administration and not supply chain. Will I get to choose the supply chain major later in the application process?

Hey there! Professors are good, some better than the others but I noticed everyone is very helpful and understanding with international students. They understand that not everyone has English as their first language so they’re more patient when teaching. 😊

I don’t think it’s hard, students, professors, and Canadians in general are very kind and understanding. It’s common here for people to have English as their second language so I think you’ll be fine! Moving here will definitely help one practice their English too 👍🏻

Hi Mikaela! I wasn’t required during my application and I don’t think they still require. However, I could be wrong as they could have updated this depending on the program. Best to check the BVC website for your specific program. 😊

Hey Roland! Yes, they have several payment options depending on what you need. There are also providers that can help split the payments should you prefer that. 😅

Hi Rico! I checked the website and the start dates are usually Fall/Winter which is September/January. They haven’t released a schedule for 2023 yet aside from January but historically, it looks like the program only opens for Fall/Winter. Hi! We have to pay a reservation fee of $1500 first to secure our spot. We then pay the tuition fee balance before the first semester begins. Usually this is $8k up. 😊

Hey there - i think it depends on the program you’re applying for here whether or not they require an undergrad degree. Most cases, I don’t think they do :)

Depends on the program you’re looking for. Calgary has BVC, SAIT, MRU, UofC, etc. You can check out which school offers programs you’re interested in first then you can narrow it down :)

Yes, I was originally taking up Digital Marketing but we had to declare our major a couple of weeks ago, and BVC also announced that it is merging its Digital Marketing program with the IMC program. And yes, you enroll yourself in your classes and you create your own schedule so you can definitely choose which professor you want to take. 😊
@@AnikaLima ah bali po nagmerge yung digital marketing at IMC, ma pwede po makisuyo ng mga name po ng professor at subject nila, if ok lang po sa inyo, kasi alam nyo po if sino yung ok ang magturo at mabait. maraming salamat po at more power mam anika, more videos na may mga tips about sa program nyo po, stay safe :)

Nope! Requirements are easy but because it’s one of the top schools for international students, the waiting lists are long so you gotta submit your application as soon as they start accepting! :)
