    People got scared of the procees, but its not as bad as people thinks. when i was about to file, people were telling to get a lawyer. i thought about it for awhile and then said to myself, i had to criminal reccord and i have been in the us 12 years on a green card without leaving, i had nothing to worry about, so i did my research, i filed myself and the process was like 1,2,3. i went to the interview and the lady ask me three questions of the 100 which i answerd without a hitch and that was it, i was done, i got my letter for the swearing cermony, i went early, waited for awhile and then the rest is history. i've been in the us now for 20 years now with no bad experiences.

    If USCIS in Los Angeles has everything it needs from you, they may also decide on your citizenship application the same day. (If you're lucky, your Oath of Allegiance ceremony may happen then, too.) Otherwise, they'll have up to 120 days after your interview to make a decision , I meet my wife January 2017 and we applied for k1 visa and the k1 visa denied 2018 and we got married 2019 and after got married , we applying for CR1 visa I get approve and now i get the interview 04/04/2024 for citizenship and I'm still waiting for the decision more than 120 days .
    We are all equal.

    4:28 where does this come from? The uscis guidelines does not mention such a thing that in a 12 month period you have to be inside the country at leaser 180 days and the interpretation is that two 5 month trips in a 12 month period is fine.

      See the USCIS Policy Manual:
      Chapter 3 - Continuous Residence
      Part C.
      C. Breaks in Continuous Residence
      An applicant for naturalization has the burden of establishing that he or she has complied with the continuous residence requirement, if applicable. Generally, there are two ways outlined in the statute in which the continuity of residence can be broken:
      The applicant is absent from the United States for more than 6 months but less than 1 year; or
      The applicant is absent from the United States for 1 year or more.

I dont have any flight cancellation record because i didnt even try to book a flight as i had an infant with me therefore, i didnt want to compromise her health. Now my question is, does that lockdown period of 1 year outside break my continuous residency or does pandemic has an exception?

    From 5:30 to 5:40 timeline in video. This information is wrong. You do NOT have to be in USA 6 months in a year. Rule is very simple. 30 months physically presence in 5 years. You can be outside the USA two and a half years with only coming USA every six months. My wife got her citizenship with 7 trips and 622 days being outside US. First year only been USA only 2 months.

    My greencard has been expired for a while, but I heard that I would still be able to apply for citizenship. However, on top of the fact that it's expired, I think I may have lost it also. Would I still be able to apply?

      You are required to have a valid card at all times, so I encourage filing for a replacement at the same time of filing for naturalization (should you be eligible)

    Most important thing the video missed is the retirement income that a retiree can get with a citizen ship status.
    Citizens alone are eligible for medicare at age 65. Others need to get their own medical insurance after 65 or from the date of retirement from work . Non citizens may not get the full social security benefit at their full retirement age. All the money they paid during their job as social security tax is a free donation then. If you have paid into social security for about 35 years you may get at least max 4500 $ per month in today's dispersement calculation . If you are sure that you want to be just a green card holder forever ,please plan for your retirement income through personal savings or 401K plans and willing to pay medical expenses at your old age or must be able go back to your native country and settle down after retirement

    If my wife, me and my 14 year old are applying for naturalization, do each of us need to submit an application, of one will cover the three of us?

      One application per person but only for you and your wife as your child will become a citizen once you Naturalize. Once you naturalize you can apply for a Passport (via INA 320) for your child and/or fill out a N-600. N-600 once completed would grant them a Certificate of Citizenship. I do recommend getting a Passport first as those are cheaper and do not take as long as the N-600. It is up to you whether or not you want get them a certificate of citizenship.

    Hi
    Me and my family GC holders. If in a future we will apply to US passport, should me and my wife apply for naturalization together? Or if I apply and get US passport, does my wife automatically become US citizen? If only one family member get US passport, other family members become US citizens automatically?

    • @Proudglobalking
      @Proudglobalking 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No one will automatically become a US citizens automatically, the only time that happens is when someone is born in USA. You and your wife has to apply through form N 400 to be naturalized as US Citizens.

    • @michaelhorgan9525
      @michaelhorgan9525 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You and your wife can naturalize together, just that you would need to apply individually. Children will automatically derive citizenship from the USC parents. Spouses do not derive citizenship so they will also need to fill out a N-600. There is a N-600 form for children under 18 that are living under your care but you can also get them their Passport or do both N-600 and Passport. Choice is yours.
