Great one again 👍👏👏 Thk you 😀
Love watching you guys!!
Love watching the Quadra bro show . Rocks, fossils, caves and beach combing plus a cookout. Super.
@@garrygraham6637 that’s the Quadra island slam right there. Makes for the perfect day lol cheers
Absolute UNIT !!! Love that
@@paullambert6485 I couldn’t be happier that someone caught onto that
Woke up to another JDT vid featuring The Absolute Unit! Its gonna be a good friday 🎉 🎉
@@tannerlamont haha buddy you did that! The Absolute Unit! Doesn’t get any better than that. Happy Friday buddy.
Fun adventure, I love the beaches up there! 'm impressed at how that little stove can burn a lot of wood! It's small enough to keep in a backpack. :-)
I like the Quadra Bro Show! Great video guys!
@@badpirate2326 hell yea thank you 🙏🏼✌🏻😎
Great vid guys! I know its a bit out of your area but we used to fossil hunting at low tide on the northern tip of Hornby
Oh hey That’s cool! Yea I remember hearing about the fossils on Hornby. Maybe we’ll have to make a trip there.
That was a kiln for cooking limestone to make concrete, there are a couple cool petroglyphs near by as well, worth seeing!
@@originalpennypuzzler oh realllllllly. That’s cool. Makes sense there’s a bunch of limestone around there.. someone said it was for making charcoal which I thought was a possibility. Either way, what a cool piece of history.
Enjoy watching you both! I'm an old-time beachcomber. Love the places you visit. All the washed-up logs. Would be nice if you had a way to bring more of them back to your home! Always look forward to your next video, fellas!
@@pammager7135 aww thanks for commenting. I’m glad you’re enjoying the adventures.
Cool I bet you have seen some great beaches!
Yea I know there’s so much wood around. Our place has some cool pieces that’s for sure ;)
Just got around to watching this video, you two brothers are awesome, loved watching y'all in action. I too like finding fossils. Congrats to you both.
@@janicegelbhaar7352 hey thanks Janice. Hopefully everything‘s going good on your end of things. We got Quadra held down. 😎🤙🏻
@JeremyDoesThings we got 74 degrees temps today and I'm enjoying it, have a great weekend you two along with your pup.
Always an adventure with you two
Great adventure today. Caves, broken bike,,creepy places, fossils, new fire pit, tacos and goats..What more could you ask for. Take care guys see ya on the next one!
Great vid, guys! Add spelunking to your list of many talents. A root too da do! 😀
@@courtneyawalsh haha your the best. Where are you from? We want to shout you out!
Rootdadodadoo!
A roo do do to you to
Quadra Island is officially on my bucket list now thanks to you guys. Keep up the awesome energy & vids. Premium content. A refreshing break from the oozing dumpster fire that is going on in the states right now. I love Canada. Wrote a few of my books while staying in St.Andrews by the sea. Mermaid at heart. I wanna win the lottery & have you Collins’ boys build me a driftwood house someday. The beachcombing ones are my fave!
Re: Dear Human…No pressure but you’re welcome to read it aloud in one of your vids. Only if it hits your heart. 😍🥰😘 I feel like Canadians would get it.
@@courtneyawalsh I’m glad that our content is refreshing compared to other people’s. If you win, the lottery will take the job haha :)
OK, Saint Andrew’s by the sea ! Are we talking qualicum beach? Like seven old-fashioned style cabins and an old Lodge?
If so, my dad and stepmom, Deb were the caretakers of that resort for the last three years up until the city bought the property and turned it into a park. We love Saint Andrews. My wife and I actually got married on that property! Possibly the same place?
Always love watching your videos. I envy that you get to spend time with your sibling!! That’s awesome!!! That cook off looked so good too! Got me wanting tacos lol
Hey, there’s never a bad time for tacos! With siblings :) I appreciate you still watching the videos. I remember shouting you out in one of the first videos we did!
I hope you have a great day and a great week Nancy :)
@ yes that made my day when you did that!! It was awesome!!! Tell your brother I’m a rockhound too lol. If he ever would like some from down here, just let me know cause I’d send him some
@ hope y’all have a great weekend too and looking forward to more videos
I must get over to Quadra and check out some of these awesome beaches! If I can even find them.
Great video. Love it! Do you guys ever use crab snares? Seems like you could launch a couple rods with crab snares out while you are beach combing. Also, if you had an Alaskan mill, could you take it out on the beach and make lumber, or is that a no no?
Hey man, iv never heard of those crab snares. There’s spots that we totally could do that. I’ll have to check them out.
Yea I was assembling an Alaskan mill last year but ended up selling the power head when we were putting money together to buy a travel trailer.
We need one. I see other people cutting logs in town Campbell River sometimes
You guys had a nice day out, it was nice and sunny and the water looked so clear! Nice rope score and removing the old netting and ropes, that stone fire thing was a interesting thing
Hey buddy, yeah pretty cool adventure ha. Apparently that stone building was used to make charcoal, which would make sense. They would pack it full of wood and have a fire going underneath just to heat it up and get it to the breaking point. Lots of fun.
Good to see you bro’s doing your thing again💪💪 there is a epoxy putty product that might do the trick on that frame. Might get one more send outta it 👍
Hey that’s not a bad idea! You seeing this Vaughn? Might be worth looking into as the bikes awesome otherwise.
Good morning from the oilpatch fellas
Gooooood morning buddy.
I didn’t know you worked out at the patch. What’s the weather like over there?
@@JeremyDoesThings ah u know -23 sunny and beautiful !!
The lint info is a good idea . That's what I carry in my pocket instead of cash lol
@@zanekreider1147 haha love it. It’s seriously is great though because it only needs like one spark and it’s burning and it doesn’t burn fast. It burns semi slow so it’s perfect.
@@JeremyDoesThings Looks like a few campsites on Quadra Island .Is there a campground you would recomend ?
@@zanekreider1147 oh yea Rebecca Spit has the best one.
Excellent. I’m afraid to to like, Quadra is supposed to be secret. I keep mentioning the radio activity to help keep it a secret.
A friend brought a Geiger counter to some of the suspected mines. But there was no sign of radiation.
It could be that they mined a bunch of tons. Then filled in the hole with rock.
I have read reports about carnotite being mined here.
I get it 😬🤫 Quadra has my heart. I was born on the Ferry and have deep roots on the island. As much as people don’t like the fairy, I think it’s what’s keeping Quadra the way it is. Guys like me can put out these beautiful videos showing off how nice it is. People that see it might eventually make a trip and visit. Throughout my life growing up on Quadra, we’ve always needed the tourist to keep the island to float in the summer. The campers clogging up. The ferry is super annoying but in another sense, there’s a lot of small businesses that rely on that and flow of money. Then we go back to winter and the island is quaint again. No ferry waits. I guess what I’m saying is it would take a lot for someone to up and move their life to Quadra and obstruct the locals way of living. Maybe we might get a few more visitors wanting to see the beautiful island. They will most likely visit in the summer and help out the island economy. The coffee shop makes good money. My mom’s health food store made good money. And then the winter months are hard.
I guess what I’m saying is my mom owned to the health food store on the island for 16 years and she always said. When the island gets busy in the summer is when she will make her money to sustain the store thru the winter.
That’s a positive. I know the tears don’t help out everybody and they can be more of a nuisance to some of the locals so I feel bad about that too.
If they come looking for the fossils, they won’t know where to look because I didn’t show the location .
Cheers buddy I hope I’m not offending anyone.
@ I’m probably wrong but tend to believe there’s there has always been radioactivity in everything. Maybe there’s different types?…
@ your correct.
We were playing with the Geiger counter and when we tested ourselves.
We were more radioactive than the surrounding area.
Humans give off around 8000 radioactive events per second.
Around 7700bq
@ my wife and I fell in love with the island and decided to retire there. That’s before we learned it’s so much more beautiful than thought. From you and others.
bros!! The back wheel landed on the wrong side of the transition! Time to find a Tig Welder!! Good job!
Haha nice would be an epic weld job. It’s pretty thin stuff
That big ass stone structure / fire place was likely a lime kiln from back in the early 1900s. I see a fair few of them on Vancouver Island.
Yeah, that’s what someone else just mentioned as well. I was leaning towards a charcoal producer, but limestone cooker it is. lol cheers
Trek is a great bike brand you should call them and see if they can get you the piece to fix that frame…they can’t be bad of the cops use them. I’ve bought a few auction bikes always old cop bikes, they really put up with the shit. We stay on Vancouver island in Nanaimo for the winters I’m glad I found you guys on TH-cam. I keep trying to get my bro to come here so we can have some bro time.
Keep it up
I've seen similar buildings like that they used to make charcoal.
Ok that’s interesting! Makes sense you could fill the hole top end with wood and then just have a slow burning fire under the bottom just drying it out and getting it right to the point where it’s about to combust.
Glad someone has some insight! Thanks
@JeremyDoesThings we'll see if I'm right. My second guess is a cistern. 😁
who you boys got winning hardline this weekend?
@@cosmicbackwoods hardline?? News to me. I feel like we’re missing out now. What’s hardline?
Godziek for the win
@@Quadrarockers what are we talking about here??
@ redbull hardline. Biggest jumps in the biking world.
@ lol red bull hardline in Tasmania, downhill mountain biking. its gonna be sick
I feel like you're ghostin' me when I ask about that skiff....what's up with that?
You mean the polar ice?
No, I saw that comment sometimes I just am busy and don’t get around to answering everyone. My dad’s working on it. No new progress updates. He’s been dealing with some other things that have kept him pretty occupied, but it shouldn’t be long before he has it water ready. I think he’s trying to get a hold of the original owner to find out how it was built.
@@Quadrarockers Love the stuff you bros are putting out. Next time you do an update on the boat can you please give us the dimensions. Thanks.
Oven - my uneducated guess is making coal that burns hotter than raw wood
@@frankkluszka2653 yeah that’s what someone else just said to. Makes complete sense.
Most people do carry lint.............in their bellybutton. Great tip
Love it! There’s a good video idea. Starting a fire with belly button lint. lol
Thanks eh
Oh no problem bud ;)
Bro! If you’re going to risk your life in some sketchy cave adventure, at least bring proper lighting!
@@davehanna1557 right! I told my bro we’re getting a spit light is he ever wants to go to another cave lol
