      YES!!!!!! I love it when it works, especially when you drop fast times on the leaderboards. Glad it helped, keep pushing, the top 10 isn't too far away!!

      @@MotoMartino79 +1, I've played all the Ride games and am an above average player, in Ride4 lap time leaderboards I've posted times into the top 20 on certain bike classes and tracks though probably average top 50-100.
      I was on the verge of giving up on Ride 5. So much less controller feedback than Ride 4 combined with a new setup system that doesn't work anything like R4 had me really struggling with bike control and crashing.
      Found this setup video, used your settings and immediately it made a difference, enough that I stuck with the game and have recalibrated to the reduced feedback that I can better manage the limits of the bikes and I'm now about as competitive as I was in R4 and have only made some very minor tweaks the settings you gave.
      You saved this game for me. MotoGP21's physics killed GP games for me, haven't played one since. SBK22 was a big deal for me as it was the first SBK game since SBKX for the U.S. and it turned into a huge disappointment since it's basically GP21 with an SBK skin. I was afraid Ride 5 would kill future Ride games for me. Now I'm happy with it. I've tried going back to Ride 4 but it's sensory overload through the controller now.
      Thank you.

    Genuinely excited to try these settings. The Ride games are my crutch when it's too cold/shite outside, to actually drag my bike out of the garage.
    Subbed!

    Hello again Martino! Long time no... comment lol, but I recently got a PS5 and Ride 5, so I've been doing a bit of experimenting and fiddling with it as well.
    Thank you for the video, as always, the level of detail you go into is really appreciated. Hopefully with a bit of time and patience, we can figure this game's witchcraft out too.

      You're welcome bud, it's not the easiest thing to work out. Having used a lot of bikes since this, each bike seems to need a slightly different tweak to get the best from it, so have a play with the REBOUND and COMPRESSION settings, and see what makes you quicker. 👍👍

    The only thing I can think about why the rear spring being soft impacting flickability would be the quick transfer of surface area on the front tire making the connection to the ground more significant earlier.

    This set up works fairly well for me on the 1000 naked bikes too. Do you have a basic set up for 600/1000cc super sport?

    Future reference you need to turn your game down more

  • @a8f235
    @a8f235 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yup, the naked bikes feel the best in this game, and I also like using any kind of bike which is why I wish the feel between classes would be more consistent when it comes to general feel. Of course there should be a difference between a naked and a sportbike, so what I'm referring to is that sportbikes feel terrible in relation to how they should feel, and the naked bikes at least feel better as to how a naked bike should feel like.
    The main issue with the game that is making these differences is the speed, because more speed of course equals more load transfer etc. That means the overall physics of the game is poorly made for going fast, which I believe is just another factor of trying to slow the player down because they don't want the player to be *_TOO_* fast.
    Personally I just dislike the game because I don't feel that I'm in contact with the surface I'm supposed to visually be rolling over. I just feel that I'm constantly floating over something, and it is just something I at least don't believe they are going to do anything about. Then you can add the no brake feel etc on top of it, and yeah...
    Most people commenting about the game have been going on and on about the endurance mode, and to be frank I couldn't care less about things like that when it comes before the most important part, which is the physics. Without physics there is no game, pretty simple. The big thing about the physics I think is just going to remain as-is, is the way suspension *_extends_* when we *_release_* throttle/brake input. Of course you can fight it a bit with a setup like you've proven in this video, but the core function of it will always be there unless they change it. As it still is functioning we need to let go of the brakes for the rear shock to extend(it should already have been extended because during braking weight moves forward to the front of the bike, and that will unload the rear. ) so the suspension can settle, and then you can start applying throttle again, but also being aware that applying throttle will make it understeer as well because in the game the rear swingarm goes up instead of down on throttle application. I believe they have tried to hide this with the way the top of the bike seems more leveled and more unaffected when suspension is doing its thing. It's pretty easy to just pay attention to what happens when we apply throttle in a corner and compare that to the real world though, and in the game you apply understeer and in the real world you apply oversteer because what you're basically doing is making the wheelbase shorter when the swingarm is forced down(which is the counter force to the rotation of the wheel fighting the friction of the surface).
    It's a constant backwards application of inputs going on that just leaves a poor taste in my mouth and that's why I haven't touched the game in a while. I do agree the naked bikes can be a bit of fun, but that doesn't fix the rest of it.
    I believe they are hiding the way the suspension is upside down physics wise by muting the movement of the top of the bike, including the rider. The less we visually see, the less feedback we get to interpret what is actually going on, and when you add the no controller feel to it all, you can just add 1 + 1 and hopefully get 2 in the end...

      It's interesting that you feel like the bikes are floaty and not in contact with the pavement, because that is how I always feel about the previous game when I go back to it. I think that was the first thing regarding the "feel" of the R5 when I got it - the bikes feel heavier, have more momentum and have a bit more interaction with the surface. After playing this game awhile, R4 feels arcade-like, comparable to the Wipeout games, or maybe a bit like the bikes are sleds on ice instead of rubber on road.

      @@WilliamTerhart-yp8wj This is simply because you don't know enough of how to play Ride 4 properly so you blame the game. Just understand this fact: If someone else accomplish something with the exact same circumstances and you don't, that means it is possible because that other person proved it. As someone with over 2000 hours in Ride 4 I know that you simply haven't tried enough, because I still learn as I'm playing to this day.
      The good reviews of Ride 5 comes from people who want things easy, who want as little realism as possible. To call Ride 4 arcade when the opposite is true only goes to show your lack of knowledge when something as basic as suspension travel is mounted upside down in Ride 5 yet you have not even noticed.
      In Ride 4 you can tighten a turn by adding more throttle, just simply attacking it harder. In Ride 5 the opposite happens. You *_WILL_* understeer.
      Trying to add directional changes by throttle and/or brakes is crucial to ride fast, and that is possible in Ride 4, yet in Ride 5 you will just worsen the situation. So, if you need to correct something in Ride 5, you are worse off yet in terms of being easier it should rather have been the opposite... Kinda makes you think...
      You have very little knowledge of how bikes are supposed to function when basic physics just fly straight over your head and you claim a way better game to be what the game you are playing actually is.

      @@WilliamTerhart-yp8wj You *_are_* interested in arguing or this would never have taken place. If you've spent 1700 hours in a game you obviously dislike then that says a lot about your integrity. If those hours are real and you show this low level of understanding of basic physics, these 1700 hours have been spent in a poor way.
      People who have ridden a motorcycle in real life should know some basics of what happens when you apply throttle, get off throttle, get on and off brakes etc. yet you show no understanding of that because to you the opposite physics in Ride 5 is how things should be. Also the no feel of anything is also how things should be. Why do we need feedback. Screw that, right...
      Finally your last comment only shows more of how little you understand because you felt the need to add something in there because you had nothing more to say about the topic. It only shows lack of credibility in your opinions, which I've yet again proven is the case.
      Ride 5 is way more arcade than Ride 4 simply because they have listened to all the sheep who claimed Ride 4 was too hard. This is about politics, this is woke garbage. This is why Milestone made a shit game that Ride 5 is, because they are afraid that some woke companies are going to say this or that. It doesn't take a lot to understand a few of these things when you take a look at the rest of the gaming industry and culture in general. Companies all over cater to this victimhood mentality where some people just cry wolf, and all of a sudden everything are just fixed to their liking, as if it's a good idea.
      It's wise to focus further than the tip of our nose to gain a bit of perspective in life, so we won't just swallow shit time and time again, and say thank you very much. May I have some more....

    • @MotoMartino79
      @MotoMartino79  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi bud, it should work fine as a base setting, but you'll have to run a little more rear spring hardness for the really quick and/or heavy stuff.
      Chop your rebound down to half of your spring compression for front and rear, oh and if it feels like it won't stop, as in the brakes are rubbish, it's something wrapped up in the tyre physics, just go to a harder tyre compound. If you're running stock tyres, add more fork oil if it doesn't stop very well, it'll be squashing the tyre and it needs more support.

      Also I find that shortening the swingarm all the way works well on 1000's.
