@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I so hope you'll bite the bullet one day and obtain your retail license, Randy. Granted, I know nothing about retail vs wholesale licenses in general, especially in Oklahoma, (I'm In FL and honestly know nothing about them even here) however you put so much work, blood, sweat and tears in these cars that you deserve to make retail on them. I hope one day, you are able to get your retail license, if anyone truly deserved one, it's you.
I just want to say something, Randy. You have to be one of Copart's best customers. Don't feel bad asking them to bring a car up for you to look at. YOU DESERVE IT!!!!! You've earned that right!
Right, so the engine cover is blue and there are blue rings around the headlights. That is how you know it is a 2.0 w/ skyactive, not the 2.5. They are solid cars.
"I'm entitled to love any dang thing I want" (referring to the focus): next breath "oh HELL NO" (still referring to the focus) I love that instant 180!
Randy, in the focus, that rattling in the engine is normal at least for my car. My upper motor mount is leaking a bit but it isn’t bad with the shaking only at idle. That 2.0 needs plugs done every like 60,000 miles so I bet it’s about time they be done if you are interested in that car
@@cristian50184 my car has 125,000 miles and still has the original tcm and dual clutch assembly from 2012. Many people see this as a bad trans. Ride it hard(4,000+) on every acceleration and you won’t have a problem. Not all of them are bad👍
Yeah maybe you have the lucky one because in mine I got it with 34k miles and with 52k in 2 year of ownership they replaced the clutches 2 times , and the 3rd time I just trade in lol. And yeah they got bad reputation but I know the engine on those are pretty reliable , like the stick versions are pretty good little cars .
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I’m ok I fell a couple weeks ago and hurt my Arm/shoulder. Hope your doing good. Congrats on the success of your channel and getting a new house. Hopefully you have better internet... lol. Take care and have a fantastic day Randy ✌🏼
Randy, that 95 Accord is to me what the Tempo is to you. I had a 94 LXa manual. LXa was a rare edition that came with special wheels (LX Accords had wheel covers) and 4 wheel disk with abs. The "a" stood for abs. Loved that car so much I bought a 97 EX. I had both for several years together.
At 22:24 the blown out tire reminds me of April 2020 stopping to help people tending to a truck with a blown tire at 1am. The LF tire looked just like that and I said: “you know I think that tire is done”,,, and the woman driving it chuckled.
The front end of that focus does sit that low. I have a 2012 focus. The thing I would warn you about is if you want an inspection on that car make sure the horn works mine doesn't, also make sure the cruise control is good. Mine likes to act up on me
Love my little cars too. And I like versa. My parents had one they traded in for a nissan kicks. But that little car was a trooper. But when there was this huge recall on the air bags. It took them about 6 months to get it fixed
Free tip for everyone in the auto auction business, do not buy any car with a misfire. But most times it the head gasket needs to be replace and might as well do the timing belt also.
Randy, that Mazda 3 is likely a great car. If you've never driven one, they are a blast to drive. The blue on the engine cover was likely factory but deteriorated over time. The original Skyactiv engines (for like the first year or maybe, possibly the 1st and 2nd) that I believe came out around the model year of that car actually had a blue-painted engine cover, very similar to the color that is deteriorating on that car, probably because of the heat from the engine bay. Mazda did that only for a year or two then stopped doing it and the engine cover was just left black after that. I actually test drove an early Mazda 3 with the Skyactiv engine and a 6-speed manual brand new when they first came out. To me, it did feel very underpowered, at least at the low end, however, it gets GREAT fuel economy and Mazda manual transmissions shift like butter, smooth with nice short throws. Also, they handle great! Not only is the engine in these cars Skyactiv, designed for efficiency but the transmissions are, too. Mazda designed the entire driveline and exhaust system to be as efficient as possible and they are impressive, especially compared to other cars built at the time that they were. Mazdas are designed to be fun to drive, too. Even the most basic of Mazda, I have a friend that bought a $13,000 base Mazda 2 with an automatic brand new that was old even by the time the US got it, it had been sold for a few years in Japan and Europe by the time we got it however despite how old it was, it drives very much like a Miata and while it is quite underpowered, I think it has less than 100 hp, damn it's fun and very well balanced. Mazdas are a blast to drive, even the ones that are underpowered. It's easy to forget just how underpowered some of them are because of how fun they are to drive. My sister had a Mazda 3 much like this one, same color even. She pissed off a neighbor of hers at the time who was mentally unstable. She lived in an apartment at the time. He kicked in both driver's side doors. A friend of hers worked wonders on the dent by heating and using a simple plunger like you'd use on your toilet. While it wasn't perfect, it made a HUGE improvement and, should you decide to get it painted at they could finish the feathering in and fixing of the ripples with a high build primer and a good wet sanding. The metal on these is thin, it doesn't take a lot to dent them on the bad side, but doesn't take a lot to pop them out on the good side. I think most of the body is aluminum, not sure if that's a blessing or a curse but I imagine it makes manipulating the metal a bit easier. This white is a 3-stage, it is beautiful but you could paint the entire car let's say, the same red as your Corvette and SN95 Mustang and it'd look even better, pop more and probably be less expensive that fixing just the stuff that needs to be fixed with a tri-stage. I was really excited to see the Mazda 3. Speaking of those, I hope you will consider looking for a Mazdaspeed 3 or maybe even a Mazdaspeed 6 or Miata. Those would be REALLY fun cars for your channel, they're a blast to drive and I think all have fallen in price enough to where they don't break the bank to buy them however especially the Mazdaspeed Miata and 6 are only a couple of year available models and I bet they will appreciate like mad because of their short life span, the fun that could be had with them and the fact that Mazda doesn't build anything close to them now with the exception of the Mazda 3 Turbo which is overpriced and only comes with an automatic transmission. The original Mazdaspeed 3 as well as the other Mazdaspeed cars only come with a manual transmission, I am not religious but if I was, that's the way God intended. I actually also recently saw a beautiful, Orange (Mazdaspeed only color) Mazdaspeed Protege, the predecessor to the Mazdaspeed 3 which is also cool. Please consider being on the lookout for one and trying to pick one up if you can.
Great vlog as always. The Focus and Mazda look good. I was hoping you would check out the 2008-12 Chevy Malibu in front of the Focus and next to the Mazda 3. Looking forward to the next one.
Randy, the first Focus, definitely interesting. The last Focus, man if you got that for $100/150, you could have JNJ Auto wrecking send you an engine & transmission with all the fixins and slap that into that baby, then send it off to the Auto Spa LLC (but only if they agreed to shoot some clean up video) and I bet you could get $3500 for it right now. The Mazda would be a good flip (for the right price) Another good walkaround, Randy. I liked the new outro, too. 👍
G'day Randy, I think selling your cars through IAA will be great for the channel. The viewers can see the last 30-60 seconds of the cars selling at auction. This is easy and good content. This will be more interesting than even you showing the end of the purchase auction as the viewers will already be invested into that car.
Mazdas are great cars randy. Consmer reports says mazda is the best overall car brand of 2021. Also thats a skyactive car...thats why the engine cover was blue. 2.5 is a great little engine. Common for swaps in first gen 3's.
2 things, Randy. (1) slow down. The car with the dealer service tag had a service tag on the key. Sometimes, what it's in for is on the tag. (2) Of all the vehicles, I think you could get good, quick flip content with the rental Nissan, IF the price stays right. Also, getting back to #1, why was there a wheel chock piece of wood there?
What they aught to do is have their own code reader, just a basic one, and let you sign it out to check cars with. The problem of course is you could clear them.
How are you going to flip cars now
Well I’ve been put into a heck of a bind. Kinda screwed up my whole business model.
From co part to randy then it off to IAA
